I am just starting to really be extra dilligent on my 1600 cal fat loss diet, and making sure to get my 15 grams of EFA 3 times a day through Flaxseed Oil.

I just read on an article about getting a 6 pack here on bb.com to avoid taking any EFA's with your meal before and after workout because it will slow the absorbtion of protein to your muscles.

That make sense.

My problem is Flaxseed oil has to be refridgerated at home so in the morning, and before bed its no problem- but the only other time i am home is at lunch for my before workout and after workout meal on weight training days.

So is this a big deal? AND if I have to chose,(before of after) when should I take it?

Dont overcomplicate things.

Have your EFAs whenever you want. Will not make a difference in the big picture.

Just hit your targeted cals/macros on a daily basis. However you do that is entirely up to you.

Flaxseed oil is a source for ALA . Fish oil is a source for EPA/DHA . Google the difference and u'll change to fish oil.

EFAs can be taken strategically with meals to decrease the overall GI of the meal. If you're cycling carbs or crossing into ketosis EFAs can be useful with meals, or even fasted cardio. Frequently metabolizing dietary fat for energy increases the lipolysis process making your body more "efficient" at using fat as a fuel source, whether its dietary or from the body.

Basically how you would work EFAs into the diet or any other healthy fat sources such as coconut oil, or a piece of salmon will depend on your dietary fat goals. If you're on some form of keto diet, or cycling carbs to low levels it can be a good idea to strategically introduce and tapper up healthy fats while tapering down carbs. EFAs are just a convenient source of healthy fats. I think of EFAs as having the same relationship to fat as whey does to protein. It's just convenient. I will use up to 15g/day and try to get the most from dietary sources when that's part of the diet.

What is your breakdown of the 15g per day of EFA's? As far as what types and how much?

TIA...

During my fat loss phase I take most fats during my last two meals of the day without any carbs, and most carbs breakfast, pre and post workkout. Protein at every meal of course, whey in the morning pre and post. casien before bed, animal protein(tuna, chicken, turkey) during the afternoon.
