Wife and I gave 500 bucks to one of tha lady's workig at our gym's childwatch center. She has been wonderful to our kids while wifey and I workout. We found out from someone else that her ex husband left her and their 3 kids all under 6 for someone else and that she was struggling to keep up financially. Not sure what the situation is with the ex and her but we felt like doing a good thing for her and gave her 500 bucks so she could have a nice holiday.

Thanks her oldest daughter plays with my daughter in that childwatch and I have a soft spot for kids. Growing up as a kid my family was one of those less fortunate.

I did that last year for xmas too. My mom's neighbor that we've known since I was a kid...they have been out of work for quite some time and they have a leaky roof. I got them a big gift card so they could get some materials to fix it. Don't think they ever did but I felt good about trying.

Shhhh!!! You're not supposed to let on about a good deed; it ruins the karma! Jeez, do I have to supervise everyone in matters of karma!?
:D
Good job. ;)

I don't believe in Karma to be honest, my good deeds are done so without the expectation of a return. I do it because I want to. :D
IMHO something like this should be shared so that others might be influenced also.

Maybe so.....but to give details of amounts etc, seems a little vein to me. I am sure you meant it in the best terms...but this is the way it came across to me.

GJDM. Helping people out this time of year is fantastic. I generally give about 7% of my income to charity. This year I gave it all to one little boy down the street whom unfortunately is not doing well at all

Giving to another in need always has tremendous returns! Whether it's money, or whether it's your time, it produces a blessing; not only for the reciever of the gift, but for the giver as well!

I'm sorry you felt that way and a bit perplexed but your perception was way off my friend. My intentions were to help a family in need and I thought I would share with the fine folks of the O35 thread and I hope to be in the position to so again. For me the Karma part is feeling good that I can make a difference in someone else's life. It's all good DT. :)
