I decided to start a contest prep journal. It helps to keep me accountable by sharing what I am doing, my progress and my struggles. I decided to compete again after taking over a year off. So, I have decided to shoot for the Fitness Atlantic in CT, although that particular show is not set in stone. I want to see how my coach feels about that particular show. I know its huge and I probably have chance of even coming in the middle of the pack, but it seems like such an exciting show.

My workouts have been good, my cardio-good, but my diet has stunk over the last year and I have really struggled. That has left me needing to lose about 20lbs for the show, which is why I am starting this early. I have never dieted over the holidays, but I am really motivated to bring the best package I ever had to the stage this spring, so I am ready to push through anything.

Well, its official, ok'ed with coach, Fitness Atlantic 2011. I will start my diet tomorrow. I am certain this will definitely be one of the hardest things I have ever done. I have struggled with my weight and sticking to a diet for over a year and I am sitting here wondering how I can go from that to a super strict diet. But I have to be strong. I am purposely giving myself a nice long time to diet down so I don't have to rush as I get closer to the show and end up with no carbs and hours of cardio. I want to give myself time to diet down at a good steady pace with small changes as I go along. I need to stick to this plan and not short change myself. That is the purpose of this journal, to keep myself accountable. here we go.

I had a gread day yesterday both with my workout and diet. Lets go for another good day. One day at a time. I have 22 weeks, so I need to stay focused. It is a long, but rewarding road ahead.
