hey guys, i am completely new to MMA, but am really interested in pursuing it. Also i am 17, 5'9 175lbs, and was going to be a bodybuilder, but i want to switch to MMA. I have done some research already and this is what i have planned to do. Also i do not have a trainer, so i will get help from people on here, and you tube is very helpful to.

Anyways here will be my routine:

boxing and sparring- 1h
weight lifting-1h
cardio-1h
conditioning-1h

During my conditioning i will do circuits, but i really don't know any to do yet. I know i am suppose to incorporate a ground game, which would probaly be wrestling for me, but i do not have a partner to train with. I probaly still do footwork and just practice shooting at a punching bar, right.

Anyways completely new to MMA and need some advice. Also for my cardio today i did a 5mile run, which felt amazing.

Im gona tell you right now your not gona go anywhere without a teacher and experience'd trainer telling what and how to do things.

Go find a gym and join it.
You wont get anywhere by your self and the way your training.

You're looking for a MMA gym but you're already doing stuff? What the hell are you doing then? The guy above me is right. Get a trainer and workout with other people not by watching UFC on tv...

You can only get so far basing your workouts on shadow boxing and bag work.

These guys r right. I have a weird schedule due to school and work, so I get 1-2 days to train. I supplement through DVDs and YouTube, but u "can't" get very far on that alone. Ur trainer will show u what "U" need to work on and show u the specifics of each move. Especially with the grappling aspect! U can c a move 1000x but u don't kno s*** til you've felt it, applied it etc
