Hello,
I am new to this forum but I belong to discussfitness.com. Some people look familar and I may look familar to you as well.
My question is to see what you ladies might think about this. Currently my diet consist of 1650 calories. I am looking to loose bodyfat and gain lean muscle mass. I balance my meals to where I have a certain amount of protein, carbs and fat per each meal ( 6 meals a day ) so i eat the same thing everyday to make make sure I get the perfect 33 - 40 - 23 percent ratio. I have been doing this for quite a while and maybe seen a little changes maybe in growth but nothing really just substantial. I am wondering how detremental it would be to quit counting calories and to quit balancing each macronutrient and just to eat healthy.
I will continue to eat very low fat and eat healthy but I just wont be counting my calories or be counting every macrnutrient. I will make sure I still get enough protein though. Will this effect my gains do you think? Sometime I just feel like having different things for dinner. I am tired of measuring everything and I think that im getting burned out because because my cravings are becoming stronger and stronger. okay im babbling now

While I'm definitely not an expert when it comes to nutrition, your cravings are because you're eating the same thing everyday.

Why are you stressing yourself to follow the "perfect" 33-40-23 ratio if it's not working? Everybody is built differently. You have to experiment and find what works best for you. If it isn't working, then don't do it!

Amkey....
You diet can certainly be modified. But it is pretty important to know what healthy is. I pretty much know the calories, prot, carb, fat of everything I eat. Since my diet does not vary too much, it is pretty easy to keep track of.

I usually stick to a 40/35/25 ratio at around 1500-1700cal. This works best for me. Others go with lower carb and higher fat. You need to go with what feels best. But you still need to be very aware of what you eat.

An increase in calories would probably take away those cravings. How often do you workout? 1600 cals/day is low for alot of women depending on their activity level and metabolism.

Try experimenting and see how it goes. You can always change things around again if you don't see results. :)

Well I am trying to shed some serious bodyfat so that is why I lowered my calories and carb intake. I decided to lower my carbs a little more and up my protein. This makes my calories pretty low and I am sure I will be hungry and tired but im sure I will loose some bodyfat. I am thinking I will do this diet for 3 weeks and then up my calories for 2 weeks and them lower them again and like yall said just to experiment.
thanks
