Which are you more excited for?

"superspeed" Usb 3.0

or

Wireless USB (wireless montiors, hard drives, etc)

Had no idea these were coming. Just did a bit of reading on them. Wireless would be pretty sweet. If you can get a decent range on the wireless between your computer tower and your peripherals, it might make laptops a bit less popular. For example I could put my tower away in my closet or something and only have my screen/keyboard/mouse on my desk and it would make a lot more space and look a lot better. Could be interesting.

I don't really do any data transfers with USB apart from sending a few photos from my phone to my computer. But I suppose when I do send videos it takes a while to transfer. Would also be pretty sweet.

So I guess I'm looking forward to wireless more if it's gonna be for monitors, etc.

Edit: Just thought of this.. If there is decent range on the wireless USB, I could put my tower next to my router and use cables to connect to the router, then use the USB wireless instead of wireless internet. The USB wireless would probably be faster than the internet wireless connection so that would speed up my internet speeds. Fawk that'd be sweet.

usb 3.0 is bigger than most people think

brb downloading a full 1080p hd movie from a gas pump onto my flash drive before my gas is halfway done pumping

Shiiiit son, that would be awesome. Doubt gas stations would do that though..

you serious? think about the earning potential for the first person to market it to shell/bp etc.

(probably already been done tho, i know that idea isn't that original)

I dunno about America but I definitely can't see it happening in Aus. Would be soooo good though.

Both of them are pretty awesome and revolutionary. Can't wait to see them pan out.

already have two usb 3.0 slots in my mobo...

i don't think many peripherals using usb 3.0 have been made though.

wireless monitors, wouldnt even be good tbh, because the amount of data getting sent to and from is so large that it wouldnt run very smoothly.

usb 3.0 is going to be sick though

usb 3.0 for sure. i'm still not keen on wireless since it has a long way to go before reaching its potential.

USB 3.0 will be sweet for data transfer rates, but will be pretty useless for mice and keyboards (which don't even come close to utilizing USB 2.0 in terms of bandwidth usage).

I can see some "hardcore gamers" going out and buying a USB 3.0 mouse and trying to say that it's more responsive though.

Why not in Aus? It seems the worldwide potential for USB 3.0 movie/media hubs at gas atations, walmarts, etc. would be huge.

I worked in a petrol station here for a few years.. It just wouldn't. Aus can't even successfully implement pre-paid for gas which I'm told is commonplace in the US. The petrol stations that tried to get people to pay before they pumped their petrol lost 90% of their business. If you could download movies within a couple of seconds without paying for it until after, people would just download them and leave. srs. People already do that with petrol. It would be even more common with the usbs.
