Who would be the better pickup? I got branch off of waivers but no one jumped on woodhead. Seems like he is putting up some solid numbers and has the flexibility of being an rb, wr or flex...
EDIT: I do have the option of dropping steve smith car (doubtful, could rebound when he comes back since moore is in qb again), fred jackson (has been underperforming on a terrible team) or tolbert and picking him up as well.

I would stick with Deion Branch because it looks like he will be the main receiver from here on out.
If you want to pickup Woodhead I would drop Tolbert for him because Ryan Mathews is suppose to start seeing more of the workload for SD....

Would dropping Shiancoe be an alternative as well (currently trying to sneak a trade through on Shiancoe's name recognition alone, but if it fails i think i'll need to send him packing)?

Yea if you cant trade Shiancoe you should drop him. His value went down due to Moss..

I picked up Woodhead over Branch because he's been the most effective RB on the Patriots so far this year, and if he becomes a bell cow back, I'll be able to get an additional bell cow back in a WR position. He's the Dustin Bufflin of football.

I picked up Branch but no one jumped on Woodhead, tempted to pick him up for Michael Bush to play in my flex spot with Foster on a bye. He's been consistent however the Brady-Branch connection could give you more points.

I picked both of them up.
But if I could only play one I'd play Woodhead. ANY time you can get someone that runs with the ball you have to take it. It's too easy of points to grab.

This. I sure wouldn't start him at RB, but let me place him at WR and he'll make my lineup for sure.

Well then good luck to both of us since we're both using him as a WR this week.
3 Running backs FTW!

Another thing I just thought of is that I have Aaron hernandez and branch on my roster already... do I really want to add woodhead and potentially rely on the pats offense for 3 spots?
My team:
QB Philip Rivers
RB Adrian Peterson
RB Marshawn Lynch
RB/WR Deion Branch
WR Roddy White
WR Mike Williams
TE Aaron Hernandez
D/ST Saints D/ST
K Neil Rackers
Bench DeSean Jackson
Bench Arian Foster
Bench Visanthe Shiancoe
Bench Eli Manning
Bench Steve Smith
Bench Mike Tolbert
Bench Fred Jackson

I was thinking the same thing. I found Meachem in my waiver wire and picked him up instead of branch for this week.
I'd rather have Meachem vs Cleveland than Branch vs San Diego at home.
Any recievers from the Saints available in your league? Lance Moore or Meachem?

Actually Meachem is available. I'm still wary on the NO passing game, especially the way they spread it around. Branch at least seems to be a #1 receiver at this point, and Woodhead has the allure of being a running back as well as a wr (part of me jsut wants to be able to play 4 running backs at once this week lol).
