What do you do with protein powder you don't like? Is there something to mix it into to disguise it?

can you return it? otherwise, bake w/ it. you often can't really even taste it. also, while it might not be good as a shake (although try it w/ milk and adding fruit and maybe pb. adding other stuff mutes its flavor), it could taste good in some sort of concoction. be creative ;)

what kind did you get? Is it the flavor you don't like? I mix mine with egg whites and cook it. It comes out like pancakes. Or mix it with cottage cheese.

What do you drink it with at the moment? I have only just changed protein poweders because the one I used to have was bearable but not that nice. Then I saw one on special and bought it to try and it is so much better. I think you just need to try a couple and you will find one you like.

I think that's my problem. I'm trying different ones. I don't do so well with whey. Egg is okay. I was looking to try another protein source but they are all tasting as good as the box they came in.

Mix it with ice cold water and drink it fast. LOL! I bought 10lbs of one I didn't like. It was a long summer. :P

Hmm.... the one with greens might easily be hidden in a green smoothie. I make green smoothies all the time (never with protein powder, but still) - one of the most palatable for people new to the idea :) is with lots of pineapple (pineapple seems to disguise the flavor of the greens really well), frozen banana (gives it some body), and spinach (big ol' handful) or dandelion greens (or kale, but it's a much stronger flavor). Anyway, seems like the greens protein could just be tossed into something like that without being too nasty. But I could be wrong :D
You do need a really good blender for this, otherwise the greens don't get properly liquified and stay stringy. Ick.

Haha, I feel your pain! I have this 5lb tub of ON Cookies and Cream (sounds yummy right?) that's been sitting in my cupboard for 6mths. It's absolutely horrible! Not just the taste, but it has these little black spicy chunks of who knows what, lol. I'm afraid to mix it with anything, but just can't bring myself to throw away $45 in protein. :p That one is unfixable, but if I could I would mix tiny amounts with a "good" tasting protein shake. This taught me to buy the little 2lb jugs when I get brave enough to try a new flavor.

make a sludge or bars out of it....
chopped almonds, scoop of the protein, maybe some flax seed oil, honey, and some warm water...
you dont want it runny so add water little by little.....I like making bars out of it personally.
get the mixture to a formable consistancy, form the bars, put them on some wax paper or serran wrap, cover them up and place in the fridge

I've got one tub of PP that I don't particularly like the taste and consistency of. I mix it (half and half) with another tub that I do like - when I make protein bars. It works. Gradually I'll use it all up. It's too expensive to waste.
A few years ago I bought 10lbs of PP based on internet reviews. I hated it. :( I gave it all to a friend of mine - he thought it was Christmas!!!

I usually end up cooking with the ones I can't stomach any other way.

I tried the whole cooking it thing, it grossed me out. tasted horrible. when I get bored/disgusted with just drinking it plain with water all the time, I add it in with water, and some frozen fruit and peanut butter in the blender.

You know what's funny? That's the only brand I like the flavor vanilla in. Shows how much everyone's tastes differ.

I've tried a lot of different brands and I find they've all got there funny after-tastes, but the best tasting stuff I've tried so far is the milk chocolate Promasil. Supposively it's been rated one of the best protiens by atheletes, but haven't they all? haha.
This is the only stuff that I don't think has a funny after-taste.
Just mix it with milk, some raspberries and a few ice cubes, it's awesome!

I have the Vanilla Dymatize Iso 100. I don't know what compelled me to get vanilla. I LOVE LOVE LOVE chocolate. Needless to say, I hate it on it's own with water. It's ok blended woth frozen strawberries though.
