So about a year and a half ago (July 2009) I moved from Indiana to Arizona. When I got here I decided it was finally time for a change. I weighed in on July 10th at 390 pounds at 5'7". I started slowly, working on food portions and walking a couple nights a week. As things started getting easier I started hiking, walking more often, making better choices.
Around this same time I met someone very important to me and although I kept making my choices and trying, I stopped truly working out. I still lost a lot of weight during this time just by being much more active than I have been in the past and getting out and doing things instead of just playing xbox and drinking beers.
On Memorial Day, that person left for another state. The day she left I just started running so I wouldn't think about it. I ran 3 miles and realized I really needed to kick things into high gear. I started running everyday, eating extremely clean with a big deficit, and doing as much research as I could on this site. A few months later I've joined a gym and am there 5 days a week lifting and doing my cardio and doing either an endurance run or tough hike every weekend.
I'm currently at 230 pounds and have my heart set on getting down to 170 before trying to bulk up after that. She misses her friends and family and is coming back in about a year. I'm wanting to be a completley different person when she comes back so it's that much harder for her to say no, and even if she does say no to be okay with it and find someone else. And of course to change my life to a fully healthy style that I can live with the rest of my life.
In order to keep myself super dedicated I'm starting this log to track my progress, my work outs, my diet, and anything else.
