ipv6 connectivity?

My school internet wireless connection absolutely sucks, and I see that I don't have ipv6 connectivity.

Can someone explain what this means and if I need to get this fixed

IPv6 may not have been implemented at your university... Ipv4 is the current standard, ipv6 is still being developed and implemented
