I was 5'7" 248 lbs this February ... I started a diet of 1200-2000 calories a day. I ran 7 days a week for about 20 minutes. Then i would do light weight lifting 3 days a week. As of this August i was 200 lbs this is when i started to lift 6 days a week followed by a 20 minute jog. I now am 5'8" 196 lbs i have been as low as 189 since then but for some reason my weight always bounces back up i never cheat on my diet and i get so happy every-time i see 189 lbs but the next day i always am back at 190+ what is wrong here people tell me its beacuse im putting on muscle but i doubt i gain this much muscle so quickly .. So i ask can someone give me an explanation of why this is happening i just really want to hit my goal of 170 i am hitting my goals in the gym my gains in every exercise is amazing but yet my main goal of weight loss isnt there

You've plateaued. You need to shake things up a bit. What works will vary and require some experimentation. You could try taking a couple weeks off and eating whatever you want albeit sensibly and then go back to dieting and hitting the gym again to see if it works. Alternatively, you could try changing your diet around and incorporating new exercises. If it were me, I would go with a low carb diet and add more cardio but that may not work for you, everybody/every body is different.

First, starvation mode does not exist. What people here refer to as starvation mode is your body adjusting to a calorie consumption over time. You're eating enough calories to maintain muscle but not eating any more than that. Try increasing your calories and switching to a 50%p/30%c/20%f composition.
2200 calories 50/30/20
275g protein
165g carbs
50g fat
Maybe even a bit more on heavier days. What I like to do to reach that macro breakdown is pair meals with even carbs and protein(20-40g each), and for the last meal of the day consume carbs only in fibrous vegetable form.
