I'm not going to compete as of right now, but I want to take some pictures to keep myself motivated.

I'm starting to carb cycle, and I was about to start my glycogen repletion with waxy maize starch, but have the following problems:
- Apparently, not all waxy maize starches are made from high molecular weight polymerized carbs and
- Just read an article about the "myth" of waxy maize

The fact of the matter is, I don't mind using dextrose and malodextrin, but the thing I found appealing about waxy maize was its claim to get water from under the skina nd increase blood volume; hence a vascular/ripped look.

So....... is there any other way to achieve this? or is waxy maize the best way??

Let me guess you read that on the product label?

I think you need to worry about getting lean before you worry about depletes and loads.

This. If you are not lean, carbing up will just fill up your glycogen stores which fills out your muscles and pushes the fat on top of the muscles out making you feel bloated. It's the same reason people don't like to take creatine because it 'bloats' them up. Well no, that just means they have a decent amount of body fat that is pushed outward by the increased muscle volume and it makes them feel 'fatter'.

Any carb, with the proper protocol, will pull water into the muscle.....no magic in waxi-maize. The "vascular, ripped" look comes from being ripped and vascular, not any combination of H2O and carbs......
