Got some spare change, around $200-@250. Think I'm going to spend it on my PC.

Current Specs:
Core i7 920
6 Gigs Ram
1 TB Hdd
Ati Radeon 4870 - 512 mb
23" monitor

Leaning towards
1.) SSD
2.) Video Card
3.) Another 23" monitor

What do you guise suggest?

I used to game a lot but got married, so I don't have as much free time to sit in front of the computer

I am a software developer, so another monitor or the SSD would probably be put to best use, but my video card is going to reach the maximum age I like to keep my parts very soon, and when I get back to gaming I would definitely benefit from it

Monitor seems like a no brainer to me. I'm about to pick up another 23in for my setup. Programmer here also. :)

I hate having to flip back and forth from ide to documentation.

I loaded my OS onto an SSD, and not a particularly fast one either, and it seems to make a difference in load times and all. I'd say of the things you listed, that would be your best bang for the buck.

Although there are some nice monitors out there now for pretty cheap...hmm, tough decision.

I wouldn't worry too terribly much about the video card just yet. My 4850 was pretty good for gaming (I still have it in this system, but I've got another with dual 5830's that I use for most gaming).

What languages?

Java and C++. I don't do it as a job though, majoring in computer science and have programming intensive classes every semester.

i'd go for a new video card and monitor if you can afford it
