- Harris bipod (haven't decided which one)

I'll be shooting 75/77 gr match ammunition. It will be joining my 16"er that has a 1-4x on it right now. After it I'm going for an SBR. Then the family will be complete.

Looks like a solid rifle to me. Gemtech is great stuff. Just throwing some ideas around here. I don't own, or have any experience with cans.... Have you considered any of the cans from Surefire? The FA556AR is supposed to be a great can and would be perfect for both your 16in gun and SPR. Have you looked at Nightforce for optics? Nothing wrong with leupy by any means.

EDIT: Instead of the A2 stock have you looked into the new VLTOR A5 EMOD? It uses a rifle buffer system and you can still adjust it. This is defenately what I'm going with when I get around to building an SPR.

I would suggest picking another caliber then.

5.56 is a great round but I would rather use a different cartridge for that length.

Other than that everything looks cool. I'm not a huge fan of Spikes and my favorite lower is from Global Tactical Supply (GTS)...it's amazing.

I, and pretty much any one else, can hit a silhouette with irons and M855 at 500m using an M16A4 service rifle 100% of the time. Based on that bro science (and some actual science) 800m w/ the accurized rifle, optics, and 75/77gr match ammunition shouldn't be a big problem.

Getting a .308 would be sweet but the capabilities don't justify the $ relative to what I want. If I want more range I'll get a cheaper bolt and a larger caliber.

As for the Vltor stock, no I haven't checked it out (hadn't heard of it)... but I'll check it out.

should get a better stock imo but that looks like a sick build

I'm not a spikes fan either, but a lower is more or less a lower. Find a good deal and roll with it. I'm not a big fan of spikes based on past experiences with them as well as the way they portray them selves.

I've met some of the guys from spikes in person an they came across as complete tactitools, which seems to be the crowd they market to. Some of their vehicles have that "keep back 100 feet or you will be fired upon" **** written in arabic and english on the rear windows/ tailgate. Not to mention, at one of the gun shows here in FL during the election crisis, they were selling DD uppers w/ their BCG on top of their lowers. Seems sorta shady...
