Ok, I've been asking about several differnt racks here and all seem to have a good rep. As it turns out none of the deals have worked out. Now all 3 have contacted me since their previous buyers all "fell through". So I have a choice between 2 pacakge deals and a rack/bench/lat attachment. All are fair enough deals. I'm just looking for reasons to not buy a rack. I think any would be fine but if you know something I don't please let me know.

TDS-smallest rack ($299)

TDS-medium rack ($479)

Parabody w/ lat attachment (don't know what retail was)

I want to use these inside on our enclosed deck floor. I'm lifting there now so I think any would be ok but the bigger TDS weighs about 100 pounds more than the little one. Pros-it will be less likely to tip over on pullups. Cons-it weighs more. The parabody seems to have a big footing but it's toward the rear so won't help as much on pullups. Pros-comes with lat pull (which I seldom use) Cons-the hooks are unique and only has holes on the inside so I can't just buy more universal hooks.

Let me know your thoughts.

Not really asking for a novel but geez, Tim, can you add anything?

The parabody is generally going to be a higher quality rack, although the company is no longer around so it may be harder to find replacement parts if needed. There's nothing wrong with the TDS and I'm sure it would get the job done, but if cost were equal I'd go with the Parabody.

If it's the same model as the rack I just posted in the Power Rack thread (Parabody is one of the companies that made one similar), it's a good home rack. Also, that lat option should help with stability, and depending on if its plate loaded or a weight stack, gives you the option of weighing your rack down a bit, which would help for pullups, tipping, etc

The rack prices are:

TDS-1 $150 - the guy has some hampton 45 plates (4) and bar and cap Standard 45s (4) and a PB bench for $450 - he's 2 hours away

TDS-2 part of a package -$600 - with TDS bench (250 retail) 300lb weight set, mats, long hooks, dip bars and extra pair of plate holders - he's on the way home

PB - $250 for rack, lat pull and PB bench with attachments - an hour away

Ideally it would be to get the PB rig from one guy and the Hampton stuff from another but they are in complete different directions and not sure if I have time to go get it all any time soon. If you guys think the PB is better quality then that's a good deal for sure. I'm just balking I guess because of not being able to use standard type hooks if I want to add another pair.

Here's the more verbose version. The Parabody is by far the best of these racks the lat pull is a great acessory to have, the bench will be solid as hell and the price is more than worth the drive.

Look at the picture:

Even though you can't buy extra hooks it has a welded pair on the front uprights and on the front of the rack off the safety bars.

I also prefer the pop pin design as it makes it very quick to move things around.

You won't find anything better.

Now that's an answer. Ok. You guys make it unanimous. Thanks again.

So, I got the parabody. You guys were all right. I'm really impressed. Rack, lat pull, preacher curl and leg attachments.....about two-fiddy.

Now I need to see if I can still get the plates and bar from the other guy.

Missing USB cable is to blame. I took pictures as soon as it was all set up. Still in the camera. Damn technology.
