Okay i have been over weight for almost my whole life, I have been dieting and lifting for about 10 months. In these 10 months i have only lost 20pounds and need to lose 25 more. I am going to starve myself for one week. No food other than a little bit for breakfast.
I am wondering if there is anyway to not gain the weight back after losing it and my metabolism slowing down?
Also any personal experiences?

What an amazingly stupid, idiotic thing to do.
Let's see, after you get weak from hunger and pass out and have to be fed fluids in the ER, you'll balloon back up, because everything you'll have lost will be water weight from starvation. Less, of course, the muscle you'll lose. Oh, yah, you may lose a pound or two of fat, but not much more than that.
Yah. You go for that.

Do you understand exactly why you eat? It's because your body needs a certain amount of fuel to survive and to operate. Think of your body as a car or a machine. If you don't put gasoline in your car, it isn't going to go anywhere. If you don't put fuel in your body, bad things can happen. A lack of calcium can lead to bone density issues, iron can lead to anemia. If you don't get enough fat in your diet your body begins to consume muscle for energy. If you don't get enough carbohydrates then your muscles don't get energy and they don't work efficiently. I'm tired of this crap mentality that skinny = healthy. It doesn't. If you want to lose weight, you're going to have to make lifestyle changes. That includes changing your diet so that you're eating less fat and calories. You should also look at cardio and weight training. Do you honestly think that you can starve yourself for a week (which would probably only lose you about 10lbs anyway) and then you're not going to just gain it right back? If you don't change the way you eat and your activity level, then nothing about you is going to change.

She looks horrible. There are dark circles under her eyes, her hair looks thin and lank, and she looks exhausted.
I just don't understand how anyone can think that starving yourself is "glorfying God". My own personal beliefs aside, and whatever you believe about God, wouldn't taking proper car of yourself be more "glorifying" to him/her/it?

That is my belief also, though in my religion there are a few times when fasting is called for (just a day at a time though, nothing like this vid) eating what has been provided or harvested (which is usually fruits, veggies, and natural things) is more of a way to show appreciation and glory.
Also, taking care of yourself and others in a healthy way is called for, harming yourself or others is not part of my belief system.

OH sure. I grew up Catholic and I totally understand the concept of a fast day - or even a period like Lent - where choosing to abstain from "worldly" things is designed to focus you more towards spiritual ones - whether meditation, prayer, whatever.
But 120 days of starvation until you look like a scarecrow? Icky! :)
