She's a mess. As luck would have it she joined a gym which has made things better. We just lost her Aunt 1 year ago, horrible, horrible cancer and my wife was at her side.

I almost thought maybe it was a pet of which people here were familiar with! LOL....imagine?

Thank you. In some odd way I Like the idea of knowing "when" it forces us to get the grandkids with her. And if we can't we'll just delay paying the Dr. so he gives her a few more months.

She's 61. Her kids have been seriously nagging her about the booze and smokes for years.

So sorry to hear. My cousin died just recently of this. He was 31. It is horrible at any time. My prayers for your family.

Fluid in her abdomen, couldn't keep food down, bad abdominal pain. I suspect she wasn't giving the doc the whole story, but when she turned yellow it was pretty obvious.

It is painful to watch someone you love in the process of dying, but you're right, it is good to be able to say your goodbyes. It is comforting in a small way somehow.

Sorry to see anyone go through that. That's what did my dad's mom in at age 81, just shy of her 82nd bday. We have more family album pix of her with a 16-ounce beer in her hand. I'm personally saving my liver for my retirement years.

When I saw it was cirhossis I wondered if it was hepatitis or self-inflicted. The fact that it's the latter makes it all the more sad.
I'm praying for your family, especially your wife.

But, my MIL was on her death bed a couple of times....6 years ago. She is still living with us and doing well. Too bad her other children have not taken advantage of the additional time.
