what do you guys/girls do in terms of diet a week leading up to your competition??

What I did my last show and it worked fine for me:

I depleted Sun-tue. Tuesday was my last workout. Then Wed-Fri I slowly carbed up.......as my carbs go up, my protein intake goes down. I start using dandelion root Teusday-Fri as a diuretic and dose increased each day.
I ate a lot of rice cakes and sweet potatoes for carb-up.

Water intake was (worked for me fine):
wed: 1 gallon
thurs: 3/4 gallon
Fri: 1/2 gallon
Sat morn: 1/4 gallon
sat afternoon: 1/4 gallon

The Day of the show my breakfast was:
6 rice cakes
2 tbsp of skippy pb
4 tbsp of smuckers jelly

during athlete meeting:
5 oz salmon
3 rice cakes w/ PB and jelly


before prejudging/pump up: snicker bar

3 hrs later:
5oz salmon
3 rice cakes w/ PB and jelly

Before finals/pump up:
1 snicker bar



POST CONTEST: Cheeseburger and fries and some chocolate raisins

Here's what I ended up doing......

Monday: The same thing as I ate throughout the previous 4 or 5 Mondays
Tuesday: The same thing as I ate throughout the previous 4 or 5 Tuesdays
Wednesday: The same thing as I ate throughout the previous 4 or 5 Wednesdays
Thursday: The same thing as I ate throughout the previous 4 or 5 Thursdays
Friday: ....wait for it.....The same thing as I ate throughout the previous 4 or 5 Fridays (including ALL 2 gallons of water...Yes, water drinking after 12:00 noon, after 3:00PM...yes!...after 6:00PM and 8:00PM!)

The result on Saturday......The best condition I have ever brought to the stage!

Don't make your peak week more difficult than it is...whatever foods and macros that brought you to the dance will take you through showtime!. :)
