I was putting my son down for his nap yesterday afternoon when I got a call from my wife saying that she was in an accident and was being taken to the hospital. She said that she was Ok, however she did not sound too good. I woke my son up and went to the ER with him. I did not want to take him, however I had no other choice. When we got there she was lying on a backboard with a cervical collar on. I knew that she looked worse to my son and he immediately started crying. I had my start smiling and he soon stopped crying. It seem she spilled juice on her skirt and was looking down when she rear ended a guy who was just starting to leave a red light. He had a slight tear on his arm but otherwise was OK. She received a ticket and has to go to court in a few weeks. After four hours at the ER it turns out that her X-rays were negative and only had some burns from the airbag deployment. She also has a stiff neck. Our biggest problem now is transportation. Hopefully they will be able to fix her car by then or at least give us $$$ for another car. I start work in a little over a week. I am thankfull that she was not seriously injured and I hope this teaches her a valuable lesson about driving while being distracted. Just thought I would share.

Glad there were no serious injuries Kevin. Cars can be replaced, our loved ones can't.
Unfortunatly we've had three scares this summer. none our fault. Middle daughter was hit by an illegal "u" turner...right infront of a cop. Oldest daughter hit in side by a person running a red....and 1 week after she got the car back, she got rear ended by and elderly lady while sitting at a red light. Thank goodness for full coverage and rental cars....or we'd be down for the count.
Hope your son is o.k., seeing momy like that can shake a little one up a bit.

A car can be replaced, your wife's well being is all that matters.
The day after an accident is usually when the soreness really kicks in. Hope she feels better soon.

Hopefully her neck will be fine with just some slight stiffness for a few days. The car is no big deal, they are easily repaired, people not always quite as easy to fix.

I'm sorry, that's so scarey, especially for the little one.
Glad she'll be okay.
Damn airbags, I think they are more harmful than helpful.

Always nice when the person in the wreck makes the call and not someone else! It looks like the outcome will be good, glad she's ok.

I just wanted to thank everyone for your support, comments, thoughts and/or prayers. Many of you were right. She started getting more soreness last night and felt even worse then the day it happened. once again thanks to everyone who commented. I am very appreciative.
