Hello All-

I am competing in my first bodybuilding competition, 2010 INBF Natural USA. I am currently coached by a WNBF pro who is configuring my diets as well as dialing in my poses.

I am a pretty lean guy with a quick metabolism. I have spent the past two years around 7-11% body fat. One year ago I was ripped and weighed a measly 135. I knew I wanted to compete, so I did what needed to be done, and here I sit at 170 a year later. I am still about 11-12% body fat if I had to guess. I can see my abs when I flex them (though not nearly as well).

My coach decided that since I was naturally lean, that he would have me fill out for about 3 weeks and bulk at just over 3000 calories daily. Only 66 days (9.5 weeks) remain until the show and I am still bulking. I have gained about 3-4 pounds since beginning the bulk, and I feel and look like a tank.

My question is: If I still have 1 more week to bulk, that will only leave 8 weeks left for me to cut. Is 8 weeks long enough for me to get down to 3% body fat at 153-155 pounds?

Whats up man not sure about your question but I am competing in that show as well. Are you doing any others around that time? Is it your first show?

I guess you should trust your coach. Where is that show?

The show is in Rochester NY. It is my first show, I plan to compete in the NGA Olympus in Buffalo on the 23rd as well.

The question you are asking is whether to trust your coach or not. I would assume that your trainer has gotten to know you and your body a bit, so he probably knows best. But, if youre looking for a general rule of thumb.......most guys will try to lose about 1 to 1.5 lbs per week. So, if youre at 170 and want to cut to 155, youre looking at 10-15 weeks of prep.......ideally, you would like to come in early and eat into the show to fill out too.

BTW, I did the INBF Natural USA last year and its a great event. The Iatomasi's are great people and really work hard to give you a good experience. Ill probably be in the audience this year.......im taking a little bit of an extended bulk.

I trust him. If it comes down to the wire, I will just work harder. And I was in the audience last year, I remember you. You were dialed in, I thought your back would win it. You weren't competing in the same class as Pryzbyla right?

No I was the middle, he was the light......according to the judges it was a tight decision between Prryzbyla and I.......his ridiculous conditioning took it. He did a great job preparing for that show.

He did, and I hope to achieve the same conditioning. In hindsight, you don't have to worry about him going pro again.

The Rochester show should be a good one. The Iatomasi's do a nice job. I'll be there, but not competing. Offseason for me... :)
