I have done 15 reps with 315 before, but these were done at the end of my workout, so I was pretty spent. Didn't wanna injure myself doing too many.

UGHHHHHH! I had a slight pull in my groin, and aggravated it doing squats. I had to do tons of leg extensions as any squatting motion caused it to hurt. I sure hope it goes away soon. I gotta be able to squat!!!
Random Thoughts
*Down to 172 lbs!!!!! I'm going to easily make my goal of 165....I might even get to 160, but I will be certain to retain as much muscle as possible.
*My daughter, Lauren, had her first dance recital this weekend for her new dance company. She did AMAZING! I am going to try to post the video up to Youtube. If I do, I will embed it here to show her off!

Well, I'm leaner than I was for the trans challenge final. I am getting the bod pod done in a few weeks, but if I had to guess right now, I'd say 10-11%.

I had 2 guys that wanted to workout with me this morning, so I decided to do the tri-sets to keep everybody moving. It worked! We took 1 minute rest between each tri-set, and by the end were beat up! Haha. I am going to do some more high-volume stuff next week, and then start a 2 week cycle of low-volume, heavy rep for 2 weeks, and then finish with more high-volume stuff before my show.

haha, I had to quit early yesterday too. About 10 minute +/- the power at the gym went out. I waited about 10 more minutes to see if it would come back on and had to go back to take a shower so I could get to the office. About the time I hit the shower the lights came back on but I went ahead and got ready to head to work.

Thanks. There was a big Vitamin Shoppe booth there at the Expo with a long line to get samples.....of course I got some first since I got to go in 30 minutes before the expo opened to the public.

I packed them into 2 bags and sent them via fedex.....weighed 45 lbs.!

The expo was my second favorite part. The Superstar Seminar on Sunday was the best. I got to really spend some quality time with all the people there and get to know them. Very, very cool!

Workout Thoughts
I had a great workout. I am actually working out with 2 guys now, and we have a good rotation where the bar never rests. As soon as the 3rd guy is done, I step right in and start a new set. The rest is probably about a minute or so. We were able to complete the workout in about 45 minutes! Moving, bro!
Random Thoughts
I will be starting some new supplements next week. I will be using:
BuildXS and Con-Cret. We will see how those 2 supplements impact me over the final 5 weeks of my contest prep. I can't wait to hit the stage!!!!!

4 weeks left just keep getting leaner. The most improtant thing you can do between now and then is learn proper posing technique. You look like you have some good muscle and are going to be lean so you really need to maximize how you present yourself on stage. Good luck and keep the updates coming.

Nice!! the only pose that needs a little work I can see would be your rear lat spread. Im saying this because your back is the same width when you do your back double bi as your lat spread. Do you have a pic of your front lat spread? I think you may need to push your chest out more as you look a bit hunched over

I completely agree. I did not hit the front lat spread this morning, but I will be sure to do it in the next few days......Yep, I don't like my rear lat spread, and it does look hunched over even though I consciously think of staying upright. I've gotta keep working on it!

Thanks for the words! I will definitely keep working on posing as I know that can mean the difference between winning and losing....I will post some more shots in a couple weeks.

In general you're looking real good. If I were to select one area to work on more would be your traps. Especially in the first post they look flat relative to the strength you have in your arms. Second but not as noticeable, a little more in the lats would be nice. It's hard to be critical because you're looking strong.

looking great mate, the only thing that stood out to me with your poses was the rear lat spread which i think really undermines your actual build.. it doesnt look like you can quite make the spread full out so i would keep practicing this

Everyone else has already said it. Work on your rear lat spread. You really need to suck in that air to bring that chest out. Another idea would be to video yourself and watch how you setup for your poses and repeat them in different ways. That has help me out tons.

In for the rear lat spread. David, your progress in AWEsome. Your front poses show really well. Just need to hone the pose...as said before me, you have it, just show it. I know you are working hard man. Keep at it, behind you all the way!

Great workout. I felt strong this morning, and was able to lift pretty heavy considering how close I am to my contest.

*I have been in Destin, FL on vacation since Saturday morning. I did not have any type of cheat meal while I was down there! I even took my tupperware meals with me to the restaurants! Haha. I'm so focused right now, not even the delicious-looking beach food could tempt me!
*I also did not miss a workout while down there. I was up at 5 am for my workouts, and even got in an extra session of cardio on Sunday! Yeah Buddy!!!!!!!!

Make sure you contract your lats and flare them out -- pull them down. I know it is hard, but practice - makes a difference. Notice also the shot where you are standing on one leg and the other is off to the side... It would be better if you could "v" them a bit and keep them flexed. Remember to flex everything - abs and legs in all shots. That abs/legs shot is your pose! Side shots too!
Also, try to hold the poses for 30 seconds or longer - up to a minute. it is painful, but it would help a ton up on stage (or simulated stage). Remember the contests you've seen --- sometimes the judges let you keep the pose for a long time.

Not much you can do at this point except continue to stick with your diet and practice posing. Put in posing practice as often as possible and pose until your sick and drenched with sweat. Keep those shoulders squared, you seem to be losing your width in some of the poses.

You are exactly right about losing my width. I will do that....posing practice is definitely a priority right now. Thanks!

Your rear lat spread has improved a lot! I think that rear lat spread 4 is the best you should try to put your hands just above your hips and push them into your sides when you do the rear lat spread instead of in front of you that way it will make your waist look even smaller and in turn make ur lats look even more spread! just a thought lol

It's definitely worth the time. Layne showed me so many things that made an incredible difference. You can really short-change your physique if your posing is off.

Thoughts
* I weighed in at 164.8 yesterday morning! I was very surprised, as I thought I would be around 168 or so. I hadn't weighed in 2 weeks, so I guess my cardio has been doing the work! Haha. This is awesome news to me, because my goal weight was 165, and I'm already there. Now, I can get even more shredded and coast into the contest weight-wise!
*I'm getting the Bod Pod done next Thursday, on the 28th, to see where my bf% is. I'm getting it done for FREE too, so that's even better. They guy that owns the place said that if I would wear the company t-shirt to the contest, then they would measure me for free! Great deal!

I'm going to see if they are any easier the second time around. After this mornings workout, I doubt it.
Check out my workout I did today. I was screaming in pain with 5 lb dumbbells. It's really embarrassing.
Keep trucking, you're doing fantastic. Posing is really an art form that you need to master. I would suspect that most people don't realize how much effort goes into that.

Honest opinion:
Great improvement. Front lat spread looks so much better. It looks like your arms are helping in that issue - from where you are holding them.
Abs&legs - Both look great. Wish you could show the abs in the other poses the same. Try and think about it next time - you have to flex everything.
Back shots are much improved. Like how you even flex the legs. Don't forget the calves (we can't see them)...
I agree with zgriggs - upp er chest is a little flat, but that takes time.
Side shots are all you - best shot - all of them.

1) You are still tilting left on your fron dbl biceps. Look at pics 3 and the last, more like that. The others, you are teetering.
2) You got some sweet caps man, anterior delts are looking amazing!
3) Ab thigh, I think looks pro!
4) Side chest shots, your arms look fantastic...your chest looks flat in pic 1. Pic 2, it looks more flexed (also in pic 3).
5) All shots of the guns=pro. Amazing.
6) Rear dbl bi, seriously...beast mode [on] off

Workout: Quantum Body Method Leg Workout - ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL!!!!!
This is my last thorough thrashing of my legs before my contest. Next week, I will be doing more of a glycogen depleting workout. Today, I am 12 days out, and I could not feel better about my body! I am BY FAR the best I have ever looked, and plan on getting even leaner over the course of the next week. I have a bod pod test scheduled for Thursday to check out my body composition, and I will make sure to post those results! Tomorrow is my last major chest workout. Gonna rock the QBM chest routine again! I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Oh, I made the greatest cheesecake in the world this weekend. It was first introduced by Layne Norton, so I gotta give him credit. Here is the recipe.
32 oz. fat free cream cheese
4 oz. fat free milk
4 Whole Eggs
1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 Cup Granulated Splenda (I used the splenda with fiber)
Combine all ingredients, and mix. Pour batter into 9-in pan (make sure to spray pan first with cooking spray). Cook at 350 degrees for 30-50 minutes (my oven is a convection oven, so it only took about 30 minutes. Other ovens will take longer. Keep an eye on it).
When it is done, leave it in the oven for 1 hour with the oven turned off. After 1 hour, place in the fridge for another 5-6 hours (I left mine in overnight).
I topped mine with Walden Farms Caramel Dip (no calories condiment). AMAZING!!!! I took a piece over to my parents for them and my sisters to try. They all demanded the recipe, and said it tasted just like the real thing.
8 slices per cake. Each slice contains (roughly):
170 calories
2-3 g fat
14 g carbs (minus the fiber = 8 g carbs/slice)
20 g protein

I love that cheesecake recipe too. If you can afford the carbs, next time try and add some Cheesecake flavored Sugar Free Fat Free Jell-O Pudding mix!

Haha. I actually had the pudding mix in my basket, and put it back. I will definitely be using it after my prep!
