Overview: A special thanks to Zdub212 and Labrada Nutrition for giving me the opportunity to review Lean Pro 8 and Humano Growth.
Initial Reactions:
I was thrilled to find out that I received the Strawberry Ice Cream flavor, because I primarily purchase strawberry flavored Whey (ON's Delicious Strawberry).
After reviewing the overall nutritional profile, here are my first thoughts:
Pros:
1. Protein Blend: I've read a few studies that recommended a Whey + Casein blend post-workout, so I've wanted to try out a blended protein.
2. EFAs + BCAAs + Glutamine: I know the importance of getting enough EFAs, yet this is one aspect of my diet that has been lacking. I also appreciate the inclusion of BCAAs and Glutamine to aid with recovery (I train HARD 6 days a week, so I need all the help I can get!)
3. Low Sugar: I'm not a huge fan of unnecessary sugar and would rather man-up and drink something bland than add sugar just for the sake of taste, so the measly 4g per scoop receives my seal of approval.
Potential Con:
1. High in Calories & Fat: As a former fat kid, I'm hyper-cognizant of my overall caloric and fat intake; however, I recently decided to begin clean bulking to put on additional muscle, so it should fit nicely into my plan. I don't know that I would be able to squeeze this blend into my overall macros if I were on a cut though.
Overall Initial Rating (Pre-taste): 9/10
I'm excited to get this thing started! Tomorrow's chest day, so I plan on dosing 2 scoops for my afternoon meal replacement (pre-workout protein) and an additional 2 scoops immediate post-workout.
