My computer got knocked off the counter and now everytime it turns on it displays a blinking question mark. I can't put the mac osx disc in because the disc drive died a few months ago. Anyway to fix it? I'm thinking its about time for a new computer probably go the PC route this time, I've had a lot of problems with my mac.

Had the same problem a while back. I had to use the disk drive to fix though. Maybe you could put a bootable version of OSX on a USB key and see if you can re-install from that?

EDIT: Btw, what other problems have you had?

Also had to replace the harddrive awhile back because the one that came with the computer died. To be fair though the computers 5 years old now so.

5 years is a good life for any laptop. I think now, apple says your mac will last 7 years.
