Lol exactly, there were probably more elite fighting units than the SS, eg. the German paratroopers who landed in Crete were THE elite unit in 1941. (so it's a shame the British absolutely owned them)

Treating SS as some equivalent to the SEALS/SAS/whatever is absurd.

Which is kind of the point of the show.

I think it does a pretty good job of determining a winner, the tests are all chosen to take out any kind of advantage given by the passing of time etc. Either way, its fun to watch.

I like watching these shows for the sake of facts and history, but the science is BS.

Alot of people somehow think that a soldier from one era to be superior to another, but the reality is that soldiers are just made up of men, not super humans. Your average soldier today is physically roughly the same in stature and intelligence as they were 60 years ago.

The difference is in the training. The army knows what did/didn't work 60 years ago and hence why soldiers would be considered superior now. We know in hindsight what the issues were with soldiers of the generation and have improved upon them. Training/nutrition/weaponry is all better now. If you took away everything you had now, then soldiers are just men. Then you are literally comparing apples to oranges.
