So you had a actual retail copy and played single player?

If that is the case, i see no conflict with Live's policy. They can't ban you for getting a actual copy early, it's the retailer responsibility to not release before the release date.

Can't blame the developers for the price of the game brah. Exchange rates take factor, as well as retailers and such.

Like I've said in other threads, **** I download I own but want on more than one thing. Not fair for me to have a CD that can't go on my iPod or a movie I can't take with me on my USB.

Naw man...Reach is fine to start with. From what I gather, it's a Halo 1 prequel.

Kinda. It does happen prior to Halo 1 chronologically, but the two games are not closely connected. They deal with different characters, though of course within the same Universe / story.


If you really wanna get "up to date", get a copy of "The Fall of Reach" and read it over the weekend. It shouldn't take long and you'll be perfectly set up for either Reach or Halo 1. Then you can continue from there.

Uprising is about Masterchief and a civilian named Ruwan. It's two separate stories going on at the same time that converge at the end. Happens between Halo 2 and 3. Plus Maleev's artwork (gritty) is a perfect fit for the story.

Helljumper is about Romeo and Dutch as ODSTs, but before the ODST game and probably Halo:CE, as they kick some Covie ass.

Halo: Bloodline is kinda confusing tbh and is about a black ops Spartan team that crashes on a planet and has to team up with the Covenant because of a crazy monitor (pretty much like Guilty Spark). Wouldn't really recommend it unless you need to know everything about Halo...

I'll put up my gamertag when I get it all sorted out and recovered tomorrow. Considered getting the Reach 360 bundle, but honestly don't think the extra money is worth having a silver system for (although it does look pretty nice).

I'll probably trade my PS3 MW2 in for this, since I doubt I'll touch CoD again till Black Ops comes out.

It isn't a bad deal considering you get a copy of the game ($60) and a second Reach controller ($60) so you're saving yourself $20 if you look at it from that viewpoint.

It isn't a bad deal considering you get a copy of the game ($60) and a second Reach controller ($60) so you're saving yourself $20 if you look at it from that viewpoint.

Yeah, after doing some price shopping, I may end up with that bundle anyways. I thought that buying a smaller GB system would be cheaper, but I don't think that's the case anymore. I thought about getting the 4GB 360 ($200), a hard drive seperately (was thinking 60GB, but I can only find 120's for about $100) , the game (60), and a headset (50?), but I think that's going to run close to the same amount.

I believe Gamestop is out of the Reach Bundles though (at least online they are; I imagine it's too late to preorder it now anyways), but I'm going to try to find it after work on Tuesday (doesn't seem likely) at retailers like Walmart or Target. I'm going to put the $5 down on Reach though just in case I can't find it.

If all else fails though I'll just buy the 250GB Elite, pay the rest of the game at Gamestop and get the headset then too.

I'm pretty pumped for this though. I spent alot of time getting to rank 50 in Halo 3, and I doubt Reach will disappoint.

i had my first intense 4v4 Reach LAN last night...6 hours of gaming.

the game is a mixture of halo 2 and halo 1.

a few hours in we switched the settings to the supposedly "MLG settings" for reach...which is like 125% weapon power or something..and it feels great, the DMR felt just like h2 BR with a nice 4 shot kill. the only problem was the snipe was 1 shot 1 kill anywhere on the body...so I am not sure how thats gonna work.

I think Halo Reach might get an overall score of 9.3 when all the critics have scored it and the average is calculated. The reason I say this is because Game Informer is notorious for over rating a game (being way too lenient) and the gave it a 9.5 rating. I could be wrong but there's no way this game is as disappointing as Halo 3. That game's multiplayer wasn't competitive at all.

Well, I don't think it deserves a 10 overall, but definietly a 10 in Lasting Appeal. With Fire Fight fixed, the new game modes/new maps, the upgraded Forge mode...I don't see how it's not a 10.

Gameplay and graphics I can somewhat understand..even giving graphics a 9 and gameplay a 10 (the added perks or whatever you'd like are a refreshing touch).

its very fun. I played through it at work (a gamestore+play station place). The AI is much better but anything lower than legendary isn't that hard once you learn to use the weapons and armor lock correctly.

Does anyone else have doubts that this will be as good as halo 3?

Looks alot better than 3.

I reached 50 before they did that XP thing, so it lost some of it's luster when all you had to do is win like 2000 games.

Getting to 50 from 49 took like a 3 day long streak of winning games. I got it in Team Deathmatch though. Highest I got anywhere else is a 49 in Double Team.

GTA IV and SC 2 and the lines were pretty big. SC 2's line was huge.

I'm going to drive by around 11 or so, see how big the line is.

I don't expect it to be big. I live in a big soccer mom community, and tomorrow is a school day for the young kids. And it's raining so...I think my line should be small.

I am thinking about giving Halo another shot. I played the first one on PC, it was okay, played a little of the second, didn't like it, and bought the third, didn't like it either, returned it.

It looks fun when I see footage of it, but I've never been able to get into it.

Appearantly the campaign is definitely up there with Halo 1, which is awesome to hear. Can't ****in' wait for multiplayer though.
