Well, here I am 12 1/2 weeks out from the 2010 Musclemania Midwest. I am 5 ft 11 and today I was 200.3lbs. I've been dieting for a bit now with my macros at approx 2400 cals 275P / 195C / 55F. As for my training my schedule is usualy as follows:
mon-chest/tri
tue-back/bi
wed-cardio
thurs-shoulders/cardio
fri-legs
sat-off/cardio
sun-off/cardio

soooo.. here we go, today was a back and bi day and I was tired since Im at the gym by 5:00 a.m. EVERY DAY.

Lat pull downs- 3 sets of 10

dumbell rows-2sets X 10, 1set X 9, 1set X 8

seated rows superset with chins- 4 X 10

Deadlifts- 1 X 8, 1 X 6

streight bar curls-4 X 10

preacher curls-4 X 10

Felt pretty strong today, haven't really had a big decline in strength since I started dieting so that's pretty cool.

Well, today was shoulder day, and I must say that I felt very energised and strong. Maybe because I ate my wheaties this morning (srs) LOL.

lateral raises- 10 X 4

BB shoulder press- 10 X 1, 8 X 2, 6 X 1

upright row- 9 X 4

reverse fly- 10 X 4

HIIT-5 min warm up, 15 min HIIT with 20 sec sprints (recum bike)

took a few pics after cardio (my left arm isn't bigger than the right, just the angle and way i was posing)

looks like alot of us are aroudn 11 too 12weeks out. im 11weeks out aswell.

nice workout man, good that your strength is still there, hopefully it will stay that way for awhile.

Thanks man, I am a little ahead of the game right now since my wife and I are expecting our second child any day now, and I will have to take a week off of training and possibly eat maintenence for a week or so. Those of you with kids can understand how hectic the first few weeks can be LOL. I

Looks like I will be taking my wife to the hospital after work here shortly. Hopefully by this time tomorrow I will be holding my newborn son James Jr. in my arms!! Will keep posted.

Thanks to everyone. He was born July 16th and he was 6 lb 3 oz and perfectly healthy thusfar. Wife gets to leave the hospital and is doing good today. I will post some pics when I Get a chance. And btw, I had a celebratory cheeseburger and fries last night and it was everything I thought it would be LOL.

well, I'm still alive LOL. Week off felt great, but i felt a little weak in the gym this morning, maybe because I have to get used to waking up at 4:45 am again. Baby boy is great, healthy, and handsome like his dad LOL. Here is a pic of him resting on mom.

BB bench- 10 X 2, 9 X1, 8 X 1
incline BB- 10 X 2, 8 X 1, 6 X 1
flat DB flies- 10 X 4
decline BB- 8 X 3
tricep pushdowns cable- 10 X 4
skull crushers- 10 X 4

Overall I felt pretty good, I had a refeed yesterday so I felt pretty full. Weight was at 198.0 today. On a side note, I am a little pissed off because I found out today that the show was moved to 1 week earlier WTF!!! But..I will be prepared even though I'm less than 10 weeks out.

I know, its kinda amazing to me that a sport that is all about timing can just be changed like that. Doesn't bother me, I'll be ready.

Thanks man. The burger was delicious, as well as the crab feast I had at Joes crabshack last week :) actualy down 2 lbs this week.

as for the contest being moved up, no worries you are putting in the time and effort and it will prove true on contest day. all you can do is keep grinding it out and making those steady improvements.

Have a little bit of an upset stomach today, nothing serious. This morning I did cardio, 30 min on the recum. bike, and 10 min on the stair stepper, followed by some ab stuff. Feeling pretty good about where I'm at right now, starting to see some clearer lines in my legs. Wish I could make my chest about 2X bigger but i dont think there is anything we can do about that right now LOL. Diet is going great, hitting those numbers, but I've been replacing a lot of my meals with like shakes and oats (proatmeal LOL) due to not having enough time to cook, between having a newborn, training, work, and spending time with my family.

BTW, I fit a cup of Cinnamon Toast Crunch into my macros for today, umad? Makes up for the tilapia and brown rice leftovers I had for breakfast at 4:45 am (puke).......Guess its about time to go grocery shopping LOL.

Cereal ughhhhh! I have not deviated from my meals in almost 11 weeks..same thing, day in and out. :mad: I am just too lazy to figure out macro's for new stuff lol

Ha, I was the same way at the start of prep, but i guess I'm just a math guy and hate repetition. Saw the delicious cereal in my cupboard and thought what the heck. I swear, I spend more time during the day on fitday, daily burn, and the lose it app on my iphone than anything else LOL.

Today I took the day off, felt a little ill last night and this morning. I'll prolly do some hiit outside when I get home from work this afternoon. Thank God its a refeed day because i've been feeling flat and sickly the last couple of days.

Today was chest and tri's and I felt pretty energetic this morning. Been waking up an extra 15 mins early at 4:30 so I can make sure I get everything done in the gym that I can. Weight today (a hair under 9 weeks out) was 196.3.

BB Bench-10 X 2, 8 X 1, 6 X 1

BB incline- 8 X 3, 6 X 1

Cable Flies- 10 X 4

Decline BB- 10 X 3

French press- 10 X 4

Cable push downs- 10 X 2, 8 X 2


Strength was good, I can feel myself getting slightly weaker (having a hard time with that last rep). I will take some pics on thursday with good lighting.

Thanks! I think the sense of urgency is starting to set in. I am my worst critic and In my head I'm like "OMG, I'll never make it!!! my glutes are soft!!! why cant I see striations everywhere!!!" then I actually evaluate myself in front of the mirror and realize I have over 8 weeks to go LOL.

Did back with some bi's today. Tried out a new pre WO supp today, and I must say the energy was through the roof!!! I was 195.5 this morning.

Pull downs-10 X 2, 8 X 2

DB row- 10 X 2, 8 X 2

Seated row superset with chins- 9 X 4

Deadlift- 9 X 2, 8 X 1

BB curls- 10 X 2, 8, 6

cable side curls- 10 X 4

Still having some anxiety as to where I am at right now, even though I am down 5lbs I look at my pics from 3 weeks ago and for some reason I dont see progress. Maybe its in my head.

Did some low intensity cardio today, 45 min on the eliptical followed by some ab work. Weight was 194.1 first thing this morning. Feeling a little better about my progress today after really evaluating myself last night.

I cant wait, today I was like "OMG, I need to order my posing suit!" Just can't wait to put that pro tan on LOL. Energy is fading a bit. Its harder and harder every day to wake up to that 430 alarm clock, and strength is starting to go down a bit.

As for the NO, i'm honestly not sure of what brand it is LOL, the guy at vitamin shoppe sold me on it. I'll have to look at it when I get home.

Then went to the gym and was almost 2 lbs heavier than yesterday (not fat I know), found out I left my headphones at home, and the list goes on. My water intake was super low yesterday mixed with most likely higher than usual sodium which is most likely why I was bloated and heavy this morning. I hate the world right now LOL.

OMG, every day I get home from work, I feel like getting up to my feet from the couch is a chore. It seems I have hella energy in the morning, and in the evening I am dead. This morning at the gym, the lady that works there was vacuuming like 2 feet away from me and I was sooo close to shouting "GET THE PHUCK AWAY FROM ME!!!!"

I think we all are the same when we look at them, so hard on ourselves and see the negative. Don't worry, as soon as you get a tan and better lighting you will look 100 times better.

Haven't updated in a few days due to being at my great uncles wake and funeral over the weekend.
Sunday I did my leg day, nothing out of the ordinary, strength was good blah blah blah.
Yesterday I did some chest and tri's, was pressed for time so I felt a little rushed, but overall strength was good.

On to this morning. Weight was 192.8 first thing this morning, so progress is still happening LOL. I did back and bi's.

chins-5 X 12 bodyweight

DB rows- 10 X 2, 9 X 1, 8 X 1

seated rows- 9 X 4

DL's- 8 X 2, 6 X 1

BB curl- 10 X 1, 9 X 1, 7 X 2

preacher- 10 X 4

Strength was pretty good today, but I feel like I'm starting to get fatigued faster.
On another note, family is still pissing me off. Yesterday, when we were at lunch after the funeral, I could hear my mom and brother talking about me. My brother said something along the lines of "he looks unhealthy and gaunt," and my mom was like "I know, we try to tell him but he just wont listen to us." All the while they are all stuffing their face with pasta meatballs, and sausage and I'm eating broccoli and chicken. I think the next time I hear someone say something I'm just going to tell them that if they don't want to be supportive and positive, then they should just probably say nothing at all and mind their business.

My close friends know how dedicated I am and support my choices. Its the not so close friends that become a pain in the ass. The worst is the friend doesnt workout besides hitting the elliptical twice a week for 20 minutes and pushups inbetween starcraft matches. Then proceeds to eat chicken wings, copious amounts of beer on a regular basis and can still manage a decent physique and 10-12% BF. /jealous

Hey Jim, My family and friends are the same way. Luckily we do this for ourselves and no one else. I just tell them that they are jealous because they want to look like me and their girlfriends/wives wishes that they would have my body.

Today I woke up with a bit of a sore throat, but that wont stop me. I just did some cardio this morning, 40 min moderate to low intensity on the bike. After that, I did some ab stuff.
Weight was 191.5 this morning..so Im pretty happy about that. Aproaching the 18X mark..scary LOL.

Throat feels a bit better today. Today I did shoulders and then proceeded to murder myself with HIIT!

Raises superset with laterals- 10 X 4 (both)

BB shoulder press- 10 X 1, 9 X 1, 7 X 1, 6 X 1

upright rows- 9 X 4

HIIT- 15 min with 5 min warm up and cool down.

It was one of those pukey HIIT sessions. Got off the bike and was sure I was going to puke, but I didnt. One of those cardio sessions where you take a shower when you are done, and then you feel like you need another shower.

today I did chest tri's and 15 or so mins on the stepper. Felt like shiit...tired..angry...edgy. Really don't even feel like typing this right now. I'm starting to get weak as fukc in the gym. Took some pictures in horrible lighting yesterday that made me feel like complete ass. Work feels like a drag..Im soooo unproductive that its miserable, just don't feel like doing much of anything. Anyways... enough feeling sorry for myself

Still some solid workouts being recorded. Sucks that the strength is starting to decline. Maybe work some different rep/rest schemes, so you can use heavier weight.

thanks man. Strength doesn't bother me, It was those damn pictures I took to send to the posing coach LOL. I ended up having to turn the lights off in the room and let the flash be the light because of the damn glare I was getting from the actual light in the room. I looked small and undefined. I had no pump, I am pale right now, and I was flat as phuck, but it sill plays tricks with me.

I know exactly how you feel. Just took progress pics, hated how they came out. Glare and lighting shows jack of my real conditioning and detail. I know how I really look, so I am ok with that. Every one else I block out and just shake my head.

Back and bi's today. Felt really bloated this morning, and was a little heavier than usual. Then I remembered the salt shaker top that fell off as I was lightly salting my egg whites last night. I brushed off what I could, but I'm not going to waste those whites LOL.

Today i felt good, not too tired, and I actually felt pretty strong considering That I was doing squats at 5 am.

Leg extensions- 3 sets of 15 or so to warm up

Squats- 12, 10, 8, 5

leg press- 9, 8, 8, 6

SLDL- 8 X 3

lunges- 8 X 3

ham curls 10 X 3

I ended up having a spare 20 min before I had to get ready for work so I jumped on the elliptical for 20 min.
On a side note, I got my posing trunks in the mail yesterday and THEY ARE TOO SMALL.
I have an awkward lower half and pants shopping is always a chore because 1) I have a 29 inch waist at 190 lbs 2) I have a big ass 3) I am tallish 4) I have big legs. I got a medium and it is a little too snug around my ass, so I may have to get a large as a backup LOL.

OMG man, one day I'll be like panicking that i"m behind and start to come up with all kinds of diet and cardio changes in my head, and the next day I feel that I'm right on track. It's really like a roller coaster ride, and the scale thing wasn't helping at all. For example, this week I am the same weight I was last week (maybe a tad less), but I look leaner and have more vascularity coming out. Its seriously playing games with my mind.

Ha, thanks! I wish it wasn't so blurry. She's always like "Daddy, can you pick me up so I can look at my muscles in the mirror." I fell asleep Saturday night on my daughters floor, so that may be the culprit. I feel like my leg lower half leanness is starting to finally come in.
