Wtf man this has nothing to do with the subforum name...

What's wrong with putting it all in the Misc section like before?

Science has nothing to do with Xbox. It's like having a religion/WWE forum.

Because it falls under TECHNOLOGY (know what that word means?) and this forums original name was Gaming and Technology. Idiot.

Ugh. "Science and Technology", when read as a whole, doesn't exactly imply the entire forum is filled of "what video game is better".

It's implicit that technology refers to the technology involved in science, not just "any old technology".

no it doesnt because it is Science AND Technology. Oh and computer technology is one of the most advanced and fastest evolving there is. Look up computer engineering.

Science and Technology
Section for talking about gaming, technology and science

what difference does it make, technology = games, phones, computers, doesn't need to be space exploration projects

Misc is hardly thriving with scientists, and this sub-section has been mostly household technology so far so thats what is probably going to keep this section alive

oh and it was originally called the 'Gaming and Technology' section before people asked for it to be changed to mention Science as gaming falls under technology.

Cliffs: pls go

You're being deliberately obtuse. "Science and Technology" is not commonly treated as two separate, unrelated fields. It is treated as a single field, the technology aspect meaning "computer science" type stuff. Not gaming, lol.

I'm just saying the subforum title is really misleading, not that I have anything against gaming talk. It should be "science and gaming" which sounds odd (because it's an odd mix).

Gaming is a very tenuous link from "science and technology"... and we all know it.

Agreed, but this section would not get enough traffic without household technology and gaming.

Most of the misc aren't proficient scientists so it wouldn't make any sense to have a sub-section strictly for these topics.

Also whenever I pick up Science/Technology magazines, there's always a section for gaming/fun technology/gizmo's etc. My interests lie in science, technology and gaming, and this seems to be common for other people, so why not group it?

Lets just call it a nerds paradise and let that be the end of it.

Yeah sure, I'm being deliberate... You just convince yourself that eh?

This section was called Gaming and Technology, meaning the creators planned it to include video gaming. And guess what? A huge demand for it when requesting this section was from video gamers, not just people wanting to discuss science like quantum physics. now it is called science and technology but did you even bother reading its description? "Section for talking about gaming, technology and science"

And yet you still cant understand that gaming is technology. Instead you ant it to be called Science and Gaming, leaving out things like televisions, car mechanics etc.

You realise by naming it Science and Gaming you are broadening one topic (science) yet pinpointing a technology (gaming)? you cant pinpoint one and not the other.

you might as well have sections called biology and gaming, physics and engineering etc.

now stop moaning over stupid **** just because your mind cant cope with understand technology is a broad term and not just relating to science.

so gaming isn't a facet of technology now?

I've been living a lie.

You are correct, but in all fairness, the 'Gaming and Technology' was a mistake. That's why they changed it so quickly.

it was originally 'Gaming and Technology' but people cried so the subforum title was changed.

so if anything, the question should be. "Why are people talking about Science in Gaming and Technology?"

Sorry, I guess I missed that.

At least a few people seem to get the point of what I am saying.

The same reason why you science nerds get your own section.

It helps filter out all the misc retard threads in here now, considering you can't be making threads that have nothing to do with both subjects in this section.

I for one care more about technology and gaming more than science ooze. But i am a considerate of others opinion kind of guy, and willing to comprimise.

It's good to find interesting threads in this section, than trying to find interesting threads in the misc section with all the 5/10, and call out threads.

this. It's like filling the bb.com forums with porn and defending your actions by calling this site "a place to discuss the human physique" if you want to use such a nebulous description. Perhaps a consolidated thread to discuss gaming or a sub-forum? I ventured in here with the hopes to read about science discussions and advances in technology. Instead, half the threads are about games marketed toward adolescents.

edit: btw, I'm not putting down games by insinuating they are only for kids. I read manga, watch anime, and love reading about comics. However, I would be against cluttering the misc forum with hundreds of threads about each individual manga and anime
