CS 1.6 connection problem

I recently started playing 1.6 again and I'm having a small annoying problem. While playing, I get a lag spike that lasts 3-5 seconds every 30 seconds. (its exactly every 30 seconds). Anyone know what could be up? I'm connected wirelessly and no other connection problems occur when I'm not on steam
