Yea I played 11 for about a year and a half. Had some good times with it but the lack of end-game content (when I played, it was a year and a half from launch) really set it off. Not sure what became available after the 2nd expansion pack and so forth as I ended up leaving the game before that dropped.

In 11 it'd take all day just to get a group together (and you NEEDED a group, of 6, and no scrubs) to level up for a few hours. Good time though.

I may get it when it comes out. I got my Beta invite yesterday, so at least I'll get to play it a little for free to see if I like it. Even if it's only the Beta version.

Yep, I can definitely attest to that lol. I actually found myself in more Japanese parties than English speaking as they usually had their **** together and the in-game chat system let you translate the areas and skillchains needing to be done.

Played 11 for five plus years, was fun but very time consuming much like WoW if not more so. I do not think I will get 14 when it comes out of Beta. Screen shots from 14 look cool but knowing SE it's just gonna be 11 with better graphics.

My wife and I both played together, so in most situations it was pretty easy to level depending on what jobs we were leveling at the time.

Yeah they look phenomenal, just a crisper version of FF11. Never got in to that whole bright fancy colors/kids theme of WoW but FF has some baller graphics.

Tried out closed beta. It will probably soak up more time than World of Warcraft: Cataclysm (I'm in this beta too!)

You are better off waiting for the PS3 version, keyboard is still primary control in this just like FFXI. Mouse is pretty useless. You need some pretty good computer parts to run it at high settings and a 60+ frame rate.

Lol completely different than 13. 13 sucked, but 13 is just a linear RPG. in 14 you pretty much do whatever you want, whenever you want to. If it's like 11, which, IT IS, there will be plenty of big boss battles and interesting side quests to keep us occupied for the next few years+.

Did you play WoW? Lol. There was no jump in 11, and either way lack of the ability to jump wouldn't make or break my decision to play.

I've played 11, and 11 will be just like 14. There are so many freaking quests, missions, and cool **** to kill it won't get boring, trust me. In 11 you picked 1 of 3 cities, each city had missions and you'd get a rank for completing certain missions. So that's 3 missions per rank, x 10, 30 missions for 1 city and each mission takes a decent amount of time (Yes, some boring/just walk your ass 1,000 miles to touch a stone then come back bull****, but good storylines and awesome boss fights).

We didn't even know if it would actually come out in 2010, we just got the release date last month. They're using the same battle system, maybe tweaked but yes in the start you will have to kill the gay rabbits and fish and **** to level up. Grinding wasn't too bad in 11, but that was mainly due to having 5 others in your group each doing a specific job/took a lot of concentration because if you ****ed up your whole team could be done. End game and the missions were the best part of XI, killing big ass **** with 17 other people is a lot of fun and with all the extra content there was TONS of **** to kill for specific items.

I just hope they come out with a better PvP, PvP was 'ok' in 11 but really barely focused on at all which is the #1 biggest difference between FF and WoW.

If this game was sooo bad, why didn't you play any other MMORPG? When XI was in it's prime, there was EQ/WoW/A bunch others to choose from. I thought the game was great, saying there was no End Game is completely retarded because it got to the point you needed 3 static LS's to even do everything (HNMS/ZNMS/Dynamis/Missions/Etc).

I thought the economy, and the Auction House as a whole, went smoothly. Yes there are RMT causing trouble (and making some things like striders r/e) but you'll have that with every game. If you're worried about customizing your character then take a loot at ffxiv.com, there's a rediculous amount of **** you can do to your character in 14. Oh and each race had their specialty, but the difference between them really evened out considering the multiple jobs/subjobs you could get and getting the rare equipment.

This is an MMORPG, not a regular RPG like every other FF aside from 11. It's not turn based, you control 1 individual but it will take a larger group of people depending on what exactly you're trying to accomplish. Each individual has a job within the group, and for some serious fights there is no room for error from anyone.

And there was no real endgame. After awhile the only point in playing was to get EQ for people in the linkshell. I'd just log in to help people get rare/ex EQ and then log out because there was absolutely nothing to do... short of starting up another job and repeating ad nauseum.

Not mad. Dragoons were pimp. Did you start playing after they nerfed penta? If so, you missed out. With penta + TP spam you could outdamage any class in the game. How are blue mages? I quit way before then.

Wtf? I don't know when you quit, but XI had TONS of end game. You had Sky, then Sea (Chains of Promathia) then Wings of the Goddess all with tons of **** to do (Wings of the Goddess actually sent you back in time of Vana Diel to do some crazy ****).

The races are pretty much equal, seeing as end-game you had a few lv75's and could switch to whatever you needed, some jobs you may have better stats for but nothing big as having good equips and having merit points etc. Hell, this guy Jackyl on Garuda had the absolute best PLD on any server and he was a Taru. His MNK was also jacked.

Don't really care about char customization, it's meh.

DRG was my first level 75, and in the start DRG's were hardcore hated on. Then it's just been a roller coaster of nerfs and buffs without really putting us in line with other jobs. BLU's are retarded good, like RDM but a wider variety of abilities (like Stun) and better Damage Dealing attacks. Kind of a pain learning spells, but very worth it. My BLU/DRK > Anybody in Ballista.

WoW is known for its high end content. level 80. If you haven't gotten that, you haven't played.

When XI was still popular, I think the level cap was still 60 for WoW. Either way, WoW is regarded as more of a PvP game than XI (being PvE prominantly). Lv29* is the cap for the lower PvP matches, I had a lv29 Rogue or whatever it is, got raped by a little dwarf running circles around me and didn't touch it since. Either way, this thread isn't a debate between what MMO is/was better because we're talking FF14 here. I made this thread to see if anyone was going to play, I think it'd be cool if we got a bunch of people from BB together and raped **** on the same server, ya dig?
