I'm sure someone has thought of this three day split, but I am wondering what others think of it. I get good results from most 3 day splits and I get no progress from 4 day splits really. I'm thinking that I will use this scheme...

Monday: Chest/Back Tuesday: Legs/ Low back Wednesday: Shoulders/Traps/ Abs/ Arms Thursday: Legs/ Low back Friday: Chest/Back Saturday: Shoulders/Traps/Abs/Arms Sunday:Rest.

I have been told that doing a chest/back routine and then doing arms and shoulders the next day will cause overtraining. However, I am wondering if only doing it once will be such a problem since I'm only doing it once and at the end of the week. Any thoughts on the schema?

thats not a 3 day split. Its 6 days in a row :x

the most basic 3 day split would go somthing like this:

monday: chest & triceps

Wednesday: legs

Friday: back & biceps

isn't a 3 day split where you split up all of the muscles being worked into 3 days?

Yes, as in 3 days in a week.

That being said, there is nothing that you have given that remotely resembles a training program. You have provided us with a list of body parts and days. If you are looking for a list of body parts and days, I would suggest you head on over to the workout programs section. They post up 3 dozen of these per hour there

a 3 day split is when you split the muscles being worked into 3 days each week, not twice a week. The routine your describing is more of a 6 day split. See link below:

and check this thread out for decent 3 day split ideas :)

The routine you are describing is more likely to cause overtraining IMHO.
