I bought that game off a buddy of mine for $20. Ending up beating the first level after 2 weeks....

I ended up giving up. That game ....dude you gotta be fuking hardcore.

dodge + backstab or magic will rape them.

if your heavy, take off some armor to get agile so you can out maneuver him.

once you get the hang of the combat, the game is ****ing epic. BTW save your firebombs for the boss... you'll thank me later ;)

if your a strong melee char use the double handed swings after he swings at you and just keep wailing on him, he will try and run a lil and heal but when he is in process of just keep wailing on him :P I beat first level some what easily but man if you think this is hard, wait till you get to second and third levels. Stuff gets stupidly hard to beat.

Also do not really put any point in DEX becuase all it does is reduce falling damage.

If you have a shield just let him attack you and bounce off that ****. Then when he's stunned or whatever attack him a few times than back up to regain your stamina. Keep repeatin its very easy.

It was either that or just side stepping when he's about to attack and hit him real quick. Also if you have magic it ****s his day up


you just gotta learn his attack patterns(same with any hard enemy)

Iv'e broke probably 3 controllers between online CoD, halo, etc frustrations. but never a game disc. got so pissed off trying to beat that ****ing tower knight phaggot I took the disc out and threw it against the wall. few months later when we were cleaning behind the couch i found it, had an anger flash and stomped the **** out of it in pure rage.

Yeah thats what I hear. I just started with a knight and im slowly uppin my magic along with other stats. At the beginning of the game I had enough mp to use one fireball on each of the blue eyed knights and it made it easier

Your not strong enough early game to shield break him he will out stamina you easily even if your a fighter type character.

Yeah you're right I just remembered I used a wing tipped spear and just stayed back really far dodging his blows and poking him to death lol. Using the spear makes a lot of the game so much easier since you can attack while holding your shield up

And I think the worst thing is dying on a boss fight when he has like 1 centimeter of health left. So ****ing annoying going through all that work and dying with 1 hit to go

Yea that tower shield guy was annoyingly tedious to fight and its like 2 hits from him and your dead :P but yea im on another plane with flying manta rays and stuff that place is aweoem to farm for souls fyi

the end of 4-3 in black world tendency is your friend. Once you get to a decent level you can farm 35k souls in about 2 minutes. I got to soul level 110 and i still haven't beat the game. need to still find some clear demon souls but don't feel like farming stones of ephemeral eyes right now.

OP, restart as a royal - seriously, its the easiest way to start the game. I can now breeze through on NG+ with a soldier, but the first time through is ROUGH. Royal's start with good equipment with a decent sword and a strong magic spell which rapes red/blue eyed knights and the tower knight. It actually makes it too easy in some spots, but try it out if you are ready to break sh!t. Your second time through pick a melee class.

Demons Souls was by far the hardest game I've ever beaten. I was ranked like #27 in the world for completion or somethin like that when you go up into that trophy room. You guys should've been there on halloween. They changed every world tendency to pure black. I kept wondering why I was getting murdered by those black and red phantoms every 3 seconds lol. Wait until later when you go to the world where you automatically get plague whenever you touch the water.

My SP character ~SL 110 is decent with a crescent falchion +5, Lava Bow, and silver catalyst. I use all 3 depending on the situation. For PVP I use dual (sharp, I think) Katana's. I havent played in a few months...

Dude, just drop the armor- find something that you like the look of. It affects you a lot less than you think and you NEED to be able to roll quickly (<50% of equip burden). Most of the monsters later in the game one-hit you anyway, even with armor. I say keep the shield unless you are great at dodging. I use a Dark Silver shield on all of my characters, including PVP for some situations.

For a knight, I would pump STRENGTH and use a Dragon Bone Smasher (beat dragon god in world 2, I think) or a meat cleaver. Both weapons are fking nasty- huge ass swords with a slow swing, but they knock enemies down and you'll OHK a lot of monsters. Drop the shield and 2 hand them

If you're going melee, try and make the meat cleaver on your first playthrough (beat the adjudicator and upgrade a great club with his soul in 2-1 (after beating flamelurker). It'll one hit most enemies in the game until you get the northern regalia on your second play through.

I found Royal class to be best to start a game. Gives you most flexibility regarding what build you want to take(start at soul level 1) start with mana-regen ring and soul arrow which tends to screw things up.

What's already been said though.. learn enemy positions and move-sets. The blue-eye knights(or red eye knights later on) tend to do the same thing. They'll block till they're about to strike, drop their guard and attack. Usually, i'll just have a shield up and try to force them to attack by running up to them and running back. As they start to attack, just get out of the way then as he recovers come up and spank him a few times.

Mind you, found that spear+shield combo works great with the auto-target(R3) feature. My problem was having a build with very little health(at SL152 still sitting on 8 vitality) which means I die way too much but also means you learn to not make mistakes as often.. lol


Also, if you're going to try to melee tower knight, i'd say don't bother just yet. World 2 is actually rather easy and 3's not that bad either. World 5 drove me up a wall(can't run or dodge very well in the water) but already on my third playthrough so can't complain.

Its a pretty fun game, assuming you don't go through a period where you just die and die and die. And die some more.. then yeah, ragefest.. lol

Forgot about this thread haha, I still haven't even touched my ps3 since I got this game because I know I will just rage out but it is still in there due to the lack of other new releases just now. (DS was only released in the UK a few weeks ago)

I have a good few days off so I am tempted to get my game face on and conquer this shiz.

Be a royal, and watch youtube for bossfight strategies on early bosses. Soul arrow is bomb
