I said I would buy a PS3 whenever GT5 came out, so now I have to start shopping around to get a good price on one. Was hoping a special edition GT5 PS3 was going to come out, but haven't seen anything yet .....

Forza is fun..lots of PS3 guys hate on it. GT 5 isn't nearly as fun, the physics aren't realistic at all. They go beyond realism, to the point of feeling box-like.
Also, I think the cars sounds better in Forza than GT 5. I have both Prologue and Forza 3, and grew up on GT. But GT always felt like the cars had massive under-steer or something..and just didn't feel right.

prologue is gt4 with hd graphics
and forza 3 is too easy. Even GRID is harder.

GT 4 felt the same. Boxy, cars had massive understeer. I never had a choice in playing other sim-style racing games until 360.
I think if you played Forza you'd like it. It finds a perfect balance between Arcade and Simulation.

There will be a special edition of the game. It's going to come with a die cast model of a gt5 skyline spec r, a 300 page book on cars, and come with vouchers for five dlc cars you cab use to download cars at a later date. There will also be a 3d version if you have the
tv and glasses and if you have playstation eye along with the 3d version moving your head during game play will actually change the view that you see on screen.

Really? To each their own man. I wish Forza had the car models and environments GT 5 has though. They look amazing.
I do wish GT 5 wouldn't put in such silly cars though, it's kind of a waste I think.

They're both just a video game compared to this- http://www.iracing.com/ It's the closest thing to actual racing as you can get. You actually have to know how to set up a car, not just click on a scale of 1-10. I'm going racing full time next year and am building a computer and a full cockpit to go with it. It's dirt cheap considering how much actual track time is.
I still like Forza though...I think I've still got a top 100 time in the NYC time trial with the GT40. I get on with a couple guys I do track days with and screw around. The only way it's fun online is when you're racing in a spec race. Playing with randoms all running a leader board car is the equivalent of boosting in my mind. And Forza2 has a much better laid out menu than 3. Hate 3's menu.
