I just finished cutting for 8 weeks and my body fat is close to what I want, I'm going to be vacationing for the next 5 days. I was wondering if I eat well above maintenance like let’s say 4-5k cals a day with bbqs and alcohol but stick to eating mostly protein and keep the carbs under 50g a day, work out every day (there’s a gym where I'm vacationing) Will I be able to keep a relatively dry lean look? Mainly just from keeping the carbs low? Does anyone have experience with this, I’m okay with putting a little bit of fat but just want to look good on the beach and eat bbq and drink, basically live a little.
I did the same thing last year however my carbs were extremely high and I turned into a water bottle half way through the second day.
If anyone could help me out on advice I’d appreciate it, I know you guys have probably have experience with this after a competition.
Thanks

only 50 carbs, wow. Alchohol mught be a problem, but I dont think 5 days is going to do too much. Where is your maintenance at right now?

I have no idea to be honest, my weight seems to fluctuate all the time and with all the cutting I don't know if my BMR will be that much slower than normal. I'm guessing around 3-3.5k if I lift on that day?

That's exactly what I want to do bro, it's just I've put in allot of time and hard work into getting lean and look decent. I used to be allot heavier, so much so that I have some loose skin, noticeable if I sit down or if I'm holding allot of water. I just want to avoid spilling over or looking soft because of excess water under skin that isn't very tight. Main area is lower stomach and chest area. I just don't want to transform like I did last year in a few days, mainly due to water retention.

if its that high (3500), I think that going over by 1000 isnt going to do too much if it's only for 5 days. Obviously, a month of this would not be good, but I don't see you gaining a noticeable amount of bf

Just make sure you're drinking a **** load of water to counter the water bloat and live it up. If you're at 3500 and bump up to 4500 then based on the 3500 cals it takes to theoretically put on a pound of fat you should only gain a small amount of actual fat after 5 days.
Have fun first and foremost.

Does everyone agree that if I keep my carbs low then I should look fine the entire time regardless of being over maintenance?

Alcohol has cals but no carbs protein fats etc. Just diet cokes and rum or vodka or something equally carb free.

I appreciate the repsonses guys, Im not to concerned about the fat I put on after the trip, im concerned with just looking good during the trip. That's all I care about, just looking good on the beach for 5 days while I eat mostly fat and protein instead of carbs in cal surplus.
Im just wondering if that works? If i switch from a 40pro 40carbs 20 fat that I've been cutting with too a mostly protein fat diet for 5 days, basically eating hot dogs and burgers without the bun type deal. If I should still look good or if I'll look just as bad as if I ate **** loads of carb heavy foods.

You would likely be able to to maintain where you're at with either higher cals
or alcohol separately, but together they are a disaster; ESPECIALLY if you've been dieting for awhile. The rebound effect will make the fat/water gains come much quicker.
Make sure you drink a lot of water, hit the weights, and some extra cardio while you're there!

Agree that high cals and alcohol will make you rebound pretty hard.
Just keep your cals around maintenance, and enjoy drinking but don't overdo it! What's more important I guess, looking good on the beach or letting loose and drinking?

enjoy your vacation man. Whats done is done, eat and drink what you want. The work you put in before vacation is the stuff that matters. Your body will not hold water if you stay hydrated.

4000 to 5000calories a day and only 50g carbs?
Agreed that you will be taking in a hell of a lot of fat! OR you will be sitting on the toilet all day form all the protein consumption, lol.
