I'm getting great gains, loosing bf while maintaing a lot of muscle. Im VERY happy with my results thus far however....
On some mornings Im very very tired and I can't seem to get a great workout out without some form of pre workout supplement.... such as Jack3d.
Now I know this isn't the time to be building muscle but rather maintaining it while cutting bf% but my trial contest prep ends August 7th. Would it still be wise to continue training even when tired and consuming pre workout supps ?
** Note, Im not really tired in the mornings after waking, however once 5-6pm hits, its like a wall and I'm exhausted beyond belief.
Thanks !

At 3 weeks out I'm still using my Scivation Quake 10 and drinking a crap load of black coffee. My coffee intake has increased significally during my prep. Also instant coffee isn't good enough for me anymore either, it has to be espressos lol. I wouldn't worry about it as long as the pre-workout supp doesn't have much in the form of carbs or cals.

Ive been supplementing with White Flood and a caffeine pill in the morning. Has really helped with my 5am workouts and following 12 hour workdays. I usually pop in a second bit of caffeine around lunchtime. The caffeine helps with energy and works as an appetite suppressant for me.
Funny this thread should come up though...Ive actually started my day thinking I would take two weeks off of stims...clean out the system!

Caffiene is my best friend during prep. I try to keep it reasonable but a pre workout drink like Quake is a staple. I also consume coffee or diet soda for energy. The last few weeks I will use a fat burner, mostly for its energy effects.

Ive been doing vente americanos in the morning and quad shot non-fat vente vanilla lattes in the afternoon. And also taking NO Xplode or Jack3d before my workouts during this prep. I'll cut out the pre-workout stuff during peak week but I'm living on coffee and caffeine at the moment. Its a great fat burner and helps get you through the day. And as Paul said above I'll use a fat burner the last few weeks of prep as well for a final push. Gotta back off the coffee at that point :D

I only cut it out at peak week. I used Jack3d because it was 0 cal and didn't want to add anything besides food into my macros. Makes it easier.
