Since last week I decided to measure my body fat with a caliper by myself. I know it's not very precise since I'm not very experienced and I only measure on 3 sites, I don't really care about the numbers I just want a way to know if the pounds going down on the scale are coming from fat or muscle since I'm playing soccer 3 times a week, lifting almost everyday and biking a lot. Anyway, I came up with 22,3% last saturday and today 21,9%

0,4% is a good number to lose every week or should it be more ?

Thanks ladies!

You mean she looks lower right? That's what I think at least..you look 17% to me. Your body fat percent will be lower in your upper body vs. lower body...I still think overall your around 17-18%

Anyhow to answer the real question when on a trainers program I lost 1.5% body fat per week and that is prob the MAX anyone should lose...that's when I was doing double cardio...but it's not a must to lower body fat...

way way lower.... i mean she doesnt need to lose weight i think she needs to gain some... and also she actually looks skinnier than you do.

.5% -1% per week is a healthy, good goal.

You're right on target with .4% lost :)

guys, pics on bodyspace are from november (7 mths ago) - and even then it is a single front shot. So it is hard to say what is accurate and what is not accurate. ;)
And at the moment her stats are 5'6 and 148#.... Hardly 'underweight'....

so you never know - this could be the reason she wants to lose a little weight at the moment. :)

to an extent, yes. But it depends on a persons starting weight/ lean mass/ and starting BF%.
eg: 1% for a person who is 100# and 10% is a BIG ask in only a week. For them even a .5% loss would be asking a lot.... But for someone who was 200# and 50% fat - 1% could come of EASILY (and then some).

each person needs to be considered an individual in regards to what goals are realistic/ healthy.

Obviously there are tons of factors that need to be considered. However, given the information that OP provided I gave a "general" answer.

BTW you're preaching to the choir... ;)

1.5% body fat loss per week...no way...

Most women are lucky if they can drop 1% every 2 weeks and you will be busting your ass to get these numbers...

thanks everyone!!! i just need to put my diet on the right track so i can get better results.

about my pictures, yes they are old. the first one was before my first day at the gym, i was running a lot and burning a lot of muscle, i was looking terrible. the second one was after a month of weight lifting and eating a lot. the bf% on those pictures aren't accurate since i measured it using those handheld devices and it's totally bogus, now it's saying my bf is 32% which is totally not true!! (i hope) lol

i bulked (dirty nasty bulk) until 165 and i've been cutting since february... i know long time, now i'm at 146. i'm gonna take new pictures soon, just waiting till my pms bloating goes away.
