Bayonetta is so awesome, I hear ya about fpss too. Anyway Star ocean 4 is a pretty weak rpg would not recommend, I hear resonance of fate is awesome. Besides that if you can find Eternal Sonata that is one of the few great rpgs this gen and its easy to get into. Besides that in terms of rpgs disgaea 3 is a fun one if your into that type of game. You could also check out ninja gaiden sigma 2

If you're about to finish a game, kill everyone in the Nexus and do so with with all the merchants in the other worlds. Finish game. Then get Foe's Ring in the next game

Like 5six said just kill all the Nexus NPCs. I'd suggest doing the Mestophales quests for some extra items. She should show up around the first level of black char tendency, so kill the useless NPCs like Sage Freke's assistant, blue soul guy on foot of steps, and the phaggot hanging around the priest. If there are any named NPCs left in your worlds, you can kill them for a hit.

Hah yeah eternal sonata is pretty colorful but still really good battle system and overall really fun. I loved SO3 and 2, but SO4 dunno it was just pretty dull, I found myself skipping the cutscenes by the end I just didn't care about the story by that point.

It does take about a week to turn around a game, certainly not at the same level as netflix.

To the converse of that, I've been getting more into BC2 again. Downloaded all the upgrade kits and everything, even though I still only use my favorite guns anyway. Played one great round and quit. Shiit was MW2 like and went 41-4 and had over 6k points playing assault class....wish I would screenshot that. Turned the game off right after that in fear of fukkin up the next round and pissing myself off. Misc needs to get back into that game again, its fun alone but way more fun with people you know. Tried to get a couple RL friends into it, but that are in love with MW2 if they play any shooters at all, phaggots.

I haven't played it in a while.. been tied too much up in other titles.. Just started some RDR this past Monday.. and gonna be hung on that for sometime it feels.

I haven't played it in a while.. been tied too much up in other titles.. Just started some RDR this past Monday.. and gonna be hung on that for sometime it feels.

That single player story is one of the best evers. Was a game I felt the need to get back into playing when ever I was away.



In other news. Just beat GOW2, done them all now. Damn games are nerve racking, lol. All these puzzles to figure out. I had a epic brain fart on this game here. Wasn't even sure when the end was then boom, ending credits. So I failed to spend the orbs to max out the last weapon I had too. I missed one feather and one of the Gorgon eyes. So missed both of those and this 20 cyclops eyes. Guess I'll have to look that one up. But I also see strong forced replay with a few other gold trophies in the mix. In no rush for that nonsense, lol. Games are draining.



Eye Sore

Collect 20 Cyclops Eyes

There are only 2 places in the main game where you can rip out the eyes of Cyclops. One is where you topple over the Temple in the Bog of the Forgotten and the other is outside the Temple of Fates. You can either farm Cylcops Eyes there OR use the easier method by doing Challenge of the Titans 1 over and over until you have 20 eyes. Just remember to save and go back to the Challenge menu after every time you beat the Challenge or else your progress won't be saved.

Ok, so after 30 mins and well over 20 eyes pulled. Anyone else wonder why the trophy never shows up?

1) Yes, saving after each match.

2) I was using " Restart Current Challenge " over and over. But then moved on to " Return to Challenge Select " after each saved match. I notice there it gives you 3 different environments. But still no trophy.

edit.... ok. Think I see the counter now. Looks like it only counts when you use the " Return to Challenge Select " after each saved match. So in case anyone else wonders to come along with this question. Now you know and can save some time, lol.

Notice often that you don't always get the O over the Cyclops head at times after doing this for an hour. That and GOW has some of the most laggy response controls of any video game I've ever played. Everything is so easily telegraphed to dodge. Yet, the response is like a second and a half to slow in reacting. Which we seen the Dev's put out a patch for GOW3 to try and fix that..... 1 and 2 need it as well. Extremely noticeable.

just an fyi. When fighting the secret boss, use shadow resistant armor. I remember getting my ass beat by him mercilessly, but once I put shadow resistant armor on he was only fairly difficult.

HDMI wasn't the norm when the first 360 came out but over time they included one because buyers wanted it, now the same with Wifi. Sony STILL doesn't include a headset or an HDMI cable with their system and we've been wanting those things from the beginning.

HDMI cables are less than $1 per foot. I really could care less if Sony included a pair of Monster cables which are just as good as Monoprice HDMI cables. Same with headsets. Most people already own a bluetooth headset for their cell phone. It's not like PS3 uses proprietary HDMI or headsets and demand consumers use their brand.

Use a high gloss spray paint (2-3 light coats) then finish off with a clear coat for that extra shine. Although I believe Colorware uses a dye process for the plastic. $150 seems really steep for a custom paint job, having your ps3 shipped back and forth, plus being without a ps3 for 3-4 weeks. I know how ****ty Fed-ex & USP are. I didn't trust them to ship a PS3 to my house, so I bought one at Wal-mart with my friend's discount card.

yeah you can... all you gotta do is insert the flashdrive in the ps3 and go under movies and press the triangle button so all your shows will showup. then press "copy" and it will copy onto the ps3.

I had over 60 movies stored on the ps3 until i bought an external (500 gb)

How ass backwards is that? And then they want to compete with Live but don't bother including even a cheap standard headset?

I can't imagine how pissed I'd be if I didn't know I needed HDMI or component cables before buying my PS3, go home and hook it up, and then play my games in glorious...standard def.

I was talking XBox 360 Vs PS3 ( since this is a PS3 thread ). Since the blu-ray player came out and hit the market. Not back in the PS2 days. We could see where 2006 would have been a pretty easy win with the 360 vs the much older PS2. But The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess won more top picks then Gears did that year. Also Gears was a PC game as well. But even FFXII and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion won for 2006. But 2006 went to Zelda.


But that's the point. Sony touts the PS3 as a blu-ray player and multimedia machine but doesn't even give you the ability to use the HD capabilities right out of the box. It's just a composite cable. Maybe because we all know the fact that Sony was loosing money for every PS3 they sold for the first 2,3 years. Not sure they wanted to go deeper in the hole I'd guess. HDMI cables are less than $1 per foot. I really could care less if Sony included a pair of Monster cables which are just as good as Monoprice HDMI cables. Same with headsets. Most people already own a bluetooth headset for their cell phone. It's not like PS3 uses proprietary HDMI or headsets and demand consumers use their brand.

Easier than Max or Maya for sure. It's interface is a lot more friendly than Max for sure.

Cinema4D in comparison to other 3D Applications is rather easy. However, there's a lack of internet tutorials for C4D in comparison to 3D Studio Max or Maya. With that said --

If you're learning 3d for the first time -- it's not the easiest process if you're going the "self-taught" route mainly due to the dense vocabulary. I think it's one of the hardest things to get a good grasp on compared to other design applications such as Photoshop/AfterEffects.

So if you're willing to put a lot of hours into learning the 3D vocabulary & process, then you should go for it. Also, if you have the opportunity to take a class in one of the 3D applications then I highly recommend it. It's such a fun process and very rewarding in the end.

If you want emphereal eyes, just go to 4-2 with PBWT and keep killing the black phantom that guarded Saint Urbain. Leave, come back, rinse and repeat. He (dual-katana guy) always drops emphereal eyes.

So far I logged about 2 hours in Deathspank. Very wacky game, light humored, and casual. You can save/quit whenever you wish which is one of my favorite features. So far the game is pretty straight forward and a button mash fest, but I'm hoping a little strategy is required later. Co-op seems fun from watching videos, but I haven't had the chance to try it out yet.

There is tons of gear, potions, trinkets, etc and a cool "auto equip best armor" feature to make the game flow a littler better instead of having to pause to equip items. Don't expect an epic story. Think 3D Dot Heroes in that the game constantly makes fun of itself. This game isn't very everyone, but anyone who likes hack'n'slash, it's a good game for $15 with a demo available. Will give more impressions as I play.

i agree, i could care less about KZ3. I still wouldnt trade a PS3 for a 360 though. Halo is Halo, and if you play a lot of online FPS I guess 360 would be better for that but their exclusives are garbage. The last couple xbox exclusives to come out: 99 nights 2 and Crackdown 2 = fail.
ill stick with the superior PS3 exclusives. My xbox mostly collects dust

which couldnt be further from the truth.

DI gets flack due to release date. it was too close to GoW III, and since they have similar gameplay, obviously GoW III is going to make it look less appealing.

DI is a fantastic game, and had an excellent story line, good graphics, good game play, and was a lot of fun.

The difference is its only about 10hrs long, and requires 2+ playthroughs to platinum.

to call it a disappointment is wrong, on so many levels...

You are setting him up for total frustration based on an opinion. My trophy count for DS 0%.... DI 100%. Your real answer should have been more realistic in the facts like I said. With DS, you'd better have some time on your hands. Because you will die A LOT and replay everything over and over again. You will need to build up your player to advance in the game ( farming souls ). Which again is a lot more time without dying, unless you can make it back to get the souls where you were killed. But the real fact is player's better be good and get the hang of it real quick. Or you will be super frustrated at replaying everything over all day long.

If I sat here and straight up listen to what other's said about their opinions on games. My collection would be only a handful of games. Playing DI to me was a total shock on just how good a game can be even with some BS rating.

If you like GOW, this is along those very same lines. Only different in story, settings, etc. Which you could expect just the same " game play mechanics " . But the graphic's and game play were awesome. They made Hell look so damn good. There is a lot of nudity. So playing it around say kids and your mother might not be to cool, lol. Way more then GOW and one level is very graphic in sexual content. With each level of Hell, the game got better and better. Very fascinating what the human mind can think of when creating something like that. All the souls moaning and screaming in hell gets eerie at times and greatly adds to the environment.

Rent both and go from there I'd say if there is ever a doubt.

while the gameplay was much like god of war, the story was amazing. I read the original Dante's Inferno - novel/epic poetry for a Lit class in highschool, and we analyzed the poem.

It was surprising to me, how closely the game came to the actual descriptions of each circle of hell as described in Dante Alighieri's Inferno.

Any new games coming out between now and Fallout: New Vegas? Thats really the next game I look forward to. No one game has really been keeping my full attention lately. Been all over the place between, BC2, UC2, AC2, RDR, Borderlands and a lil bit of Infamous. Honestly I dont even like Infamous, I just been playing it cause its there, I def wont get part 2. Nope, cause DLPs have a wack viewing angle. You can look at LCD, LED and Plasma from just about any angle and get a good view. DLP you have to be directly in front of the screen to see it well. Then the picture isnt quite as crisp as the others either. They do cost the least out of all the HDTV's though.

Edit: Yeah I was on the 360 too, but I did put a few hours in BC2 this weekend though.

Have you done InFamous? Games a trip. You can get out of the map game play area's so easy in this game. You go through walls, fences, etc. I just crossed this long bridge that was the end of the map. I kept getting through the walls the Dev's set up. Ended up on the other side were the place was not even finish yet in the game, lol.

Sony and LG make LCDs/Plasmas > 60" have for a while, but theyre incredibly expensive.

I used to own a 50" Toshiba DLP before i bought the new Samsung B8500 LED LCD. It was a MASSIVE upgrade, to say the least.

DLPs are great TVs, incredibly clear, and best suited, imo, for sports or any fast moving picture. The pitfall is teh bulbs do go bad, and are fairly expensive to replace. I replaced the bulb in my Toshiba 2 times before buying the LCD.

Also, the contrast ratio on a DLP is MUCH lower, and your picture wont be near as bright, almost giving it a duller image.

Dont get me wrong, i love DLPs i think theyre great TVs, and fantastic bang for the buck if put in the right setting (low light, etc.) My dad owns the Mitsubishi 73" DLP in his basement, the TV is sick.

Ill stick with my 55" Samsung LED though, not sure i could ever go back to DLP after owning this TV.

Tempting.. I've already got such a backlog though of things i need to play. I'm so engrossed with RDR. I spent about 19 hours the past 3 days on it. I don't have many weekends like that.. sure was fun. Funny how I never really cared for watching westerns like my father does but I love playing a western game. I'm definitely going to be going for 100% on this and possibly some DLC.

i liked AC2 more than AC1, so much so i played till i platinumed it... the story is more engrossing, and the mechanics are more polished.

DS made me rage beyond belief. i bought it, returned it. then bought it again for a second chance, and returned it again.... i gave it two shots.

You *******s i caved & bought Demons soul off amazon for $32 canadian.....i like a challenge & i am a RPG fiend so i am sure i will love/hate demons soul.

Also got the unlimited game rentals from blockbuster 2 games out at a time unlimited rentals, since Blockbuster is down the street & i hate those online game rentals since only decent one takes over a week to get to me.

So i rented Singularity & Transformers last night & tried em out quickly, about 30 mins each. Singularity is a Bioshock wanna be but they do decent with it it is a back up game for me when i am out of my go to games i will pop it back in & finish it.

Transformers sucked.....maybe i did not give it enough time but i mean it was garbage how are the reviews so good, i will give it another go tonight.

I wanted to rent Dantes Inferno & Uncharted 2 last night but were all rented out...so i will keep going back for that also gotta try Heavy Rain.

O & i started RDR this weekend...hope it gets better...hurding horse & cows & crap is just boring & lassoing horses...yawn. I am sure she gets better because i love sandbox games.

I was finding that DS is more a memory game then a hard game. It was like replaying what you just did for the last half hour over and over. Progressing further and further along as you went. Learning who comes from where and preparing yourself for the next time you get back to where you were killed. It was the replaying over and over that made me say ok. I'm not into this right now. But will pick it back up later on, lol. I'm into action adventure right now. A good game to play without getting pissed off every 20 mins......

Guerrilla Games Director Victor Zuylen has detailed a comparison of the controls between Killzone 2 and the upcoming PS3 video game Killzone 3.

To quote from the official site, linked above: "For Killzone 3, Guerrilla's developers are aiming to keep the unique sense of weight in the game while ramping up the accuracy and responsiveness of the controls. We talked to Game Director Mathijs de Jonge to get a better idea of the considerations involved with the redesign.

"Our first priority when we started working on the controls for Killzone 3 was to listen closely to Killzone 2's players - what they liked, what they disliked, and how they felt things could be improved," Mathijs says.

"Accuracy and responsiveness consistently came up as the top issues. At the same time, a lot of players were saying they loved the weighty feel."

That might sound contradictory, but one doesn't have to preclude the other. "For the most part, the unique sense of weight in Killzone 2 comes directly from the first-person animations, not from the control scheme," Mathijs explains.

"The speed of movement and the way the camera bobs up and down are consistent with the view of a person carrying around heavy equipment."

When the team went back to the drawing board, they began by exhaustively analyzing every aspect of the underlying system, taking into consideration factors like input lag, acceleration and dead zone (the amount of movement on the analog stick required to produce a reaction in the game -Ed.) and how each affected the overall gameplay. Their findings were used to make improvements to the accuracy and responsiveness of the controls.

The results so far have been very encouraging. "Right now it's still a work in progress," Mathijs says, "but we're definitely getting there.

We've recalibrated the dead zone to be more responsive and significantly reduced the input lag, resulting in far better accuracy. Best of all, we've managed to retain that sense of weight that set Killzone 2 apart from other shooters. I can't wait for people to try it out."

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I just can't bring myself to like MGS franchise. I tried the first MSG on ps1 but was disgusted after only 30 min. Then I gave it another shot with MSG3 and all I could do was ridicule snake's voice for 10 min, and that was it. Same goes with GTA. =/

Yeah, I didn't care for the fixed camera position. Hard to sneak around, yet you have you stop, press a control to look forward. Then start moving again looking downward. Even with the aid of certin gear to help you track moving targets along the way. I just wanted to be able to see forward while I was walking, lol.

But how you feel is the same for me in COD. I just don't get it. I'll pick up MW2 when it's $20 or less, lol.

The 2010 Console Race So Far
Sony sees PlayStation 3 sales recovery from last year.

Yesterday we got a look at how the software sales were doing through the first half of the year. Now, let's take a look at how the hardware is selling.

Posted below are the combined console unit sales from January 2010 through June 2010 in the United States using data provided by research firm NPD. The percent change in unit sales from the first six months in 2009 is shown in parentheses to the right of each console.

Here are the results:

Nintendo DS - 3,071,400 (-25%)
Wii - 2,455,700 (-19%)
Xbox 360 - 1,924,900 (+19%)
PlayStation 3 - 1,591,000 (+42%)
PSP - 599,300 (-35%)

Things to note:

- PSP has taken a major hit this year, seeing unit sales drop a whopping 35 percent from the same time last year.

- PlayStation 3 has seen the largest jump this year, which can primarily be attributed to the $100 price drop in August as well as a plethora of quality titles in the first half of 2010, such as God of War III.

- Nintendo has taken quite a hit themselves with the Wii and DS, but their totals comparatively for this year are still extraordinary.

- Both Nintendo and Sony reportedly suffered console shortages the first half of this year.

- Microsoft saw a nice boost last month with a $50 price cut and the release of a new Xbox 360 console redesign. That, coupled with big 2010 releases such as Mass Effect 2 and Splinter Cell: Conviction, are helping the company move units this year.



Fight Night Champion Revealed
EA Sports pulls back the veil on the next installment in everyone's favorite boxing series.

Fight Night Round 3 set the gaming world ablaze with its gorgeous E3 demo back in 2005. Now EA Sports is returning with the fifth iteration in the sports franchise, dubbed Fight Night Champion coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011. And, just in case you're wondering, this is not an expansion to Fight Night Round 4. Fight Night Champion will be its own standalone disc when it launches at retailers. When that will be in 2011 is anyone's guess.

The developers at EA Canada in Vancouver are touting a new single-player mode as the biggest innovation in the game, saying, "Fight Night Champion will break the mold of what is expected in a single-player sports game. Players will be introduced to an entirely new way to step between the ropes and experience the drama, emotion, excitement and tragedy of world championship boxing."



Goodnight, Winky. Hello new level of brutality. Brian Hayes, Gameplay Producer on Fight Night Champion said, "It's something people won't expect from an EA Sports game" about the game's big new mode. He quickly followed that remark with "Our lips are sealed for the time-being about that" for fear of the wrath of the EA Sports PR representative.

He did tell us that the game will be "the full meal deal with desert and a toy. The whole enchilada. All that and a bag…" when asked if Champion was being treated as an expansion pack or a full retail release. It would stand to reason that the price tag would follow suit, but don't quote us on that.

There will be between 60 and 65 boxers on the roster for the final product and users will implement the new "Full Spectrum Punch Control" to move the combatants around the ring and throw some of the most devastating punches ever seen in a Fight Night game. At least that's the impression I get from looking at that bloody Manny Pacquaio screenshot.


Manny has seen better days.EA Sports touts the new control method as delivering both "the most realistic punching system ever seen" while still allowing Champion to be "the most user-friendly title in the franchise's history." Interpret that however you like, but you can bet that there will be an option for players to use face buttons and face buttons alone to throw punches.

We weren't able to glean any other juicy tidbits of gameplay details other than the game will include new online features to go along with the headlining single-player innovation and control scheme. Being a huge Fight Night fan myself (and an even bigger cheerleader for solo gameplay when compared to taking the game online), I'm certainly excited to see the sort of new career experience Fight Night Champion is going to provide.

I gurantee one of the big annoucements is this is being designed with or for PS Move, maybe they make a awesome bundle for the move/ fight night. If the move is good as it looks, man this game might be one of the best to come.

I was finding that DS is more a memory game then a hard game. It was like replaying what you just did for the last half hour over and over. Progressing further and further along as you went. Learning who comes from where and preparing yourself for the next time you get back to where you were killed. It was the replaying over and over that made me say ok. I'm not into this right now. But will pick it back up later on, lol. I'm into action adventure right now. A good game to play without getting pissed off every 20 mins......

I know exactly what you're talking about. I've been learning from every death until I get past it. It took me numerous tries but I finished 1-1 last night...feels good since I can now level up, grind, etc. I definitely raged quite a bit doing it but at the same time I know what people are talking about when they say how rewarding this game is.

Probably the coolest news I've heard latley.


Capcom and Namco are teaming up to make a Tekken vs Street Fighter game. More is to be announced at Comic-Con, however they plan to make two different versions of the game.

One version will be built using the Street Fighter IV engine, while the other will be built using the Tekken 6 engine. So you can have a 2-D or 3-D fighter.


Some pretty cool news I think, would look cool to have some very realistic Street Fighter characters.

So far I logged about 2 hours in Deathspank. Very wacky game, light humored, and casual. You can save/quit whenever you wish which is one of my favorite features. So far the game is pretty straight forward and a button mash fest, but I'm hoping a little strategy is required later. Co-op seems fun from watching videos, but I haven't had the chance to try it out yet.

There is tons of gear, potions, trinkets, etc and a cool "auto equip best armor" feature to make the game flow a littler better instead of having to pause to equip items. Don't expect an epic story. Think 3D Dot Heroes in that the game constantly makes fun of itself. This game isn't very everyone, but anyone who likes hack'n'slash, it's a good game for $15 with a demo available. Will give more impressions as I play.

Alright so I finished Deathspank last night. Some of the quests were a little tedious but fun for the most part. My only complaint was the length of this game. I finished in maybe 10 hours and would have been a little disappointed if I actually paid for it. I don't see a whole lot of replay value in this game after completing. I will probably run through one more time in co-op mode with my brother, but that's about it.

Trophy whores: there isn't a platinum in this game. Only a couple gold, few silver, and a handful of bronze.

I wouldn't pay $15 for this, but it's definitely worth $7.50 if you have a buddy to share with.
