Socom Confrontation was a fail...heres some Socom 4 gameplay single player compared to the old socoms. My main problem with the game is the character movement, strafing in Socom 1+2 was so much faster which make the game more hard to play. Made it so much more slowed down

So, a few weeks ago I downloaded the Liars & Cheats pack for Red Dead Redemption. Ever since then it seems like my PS3 freezes up every time I play a game on it. I took out the hard-drive and used condensed air to try to clear out any dust that may be causing this. I was just playing The Sabetour and it froze up yet again. I'm starting to worry that a YLOD is on it's way so I think I'm going to trade this system in before that happens and use the money towards a slim. Has anyone had this problem? Is it just a hard-drive issue or should I go ahead and replace this and then throw my current hard-drive into the new one? I really don't want to spend money on a new system, but I'd rather get something for this one while I can.

Edit: I just spoke with Gamestop and they said I could get $128 cash or $169 store credit (what a friggin rip-off that store is) and can get a new slim, not a bundle, for $300.

Make sure, when adding folders to your external they meet the following criteria:

folder names must be in capital letters. First, create a folder named "PS3" on your hard drive. Inside that, create folders named "PHOTO", "MUSIC", "VIDEO" and "GAME".


The PS3 will not detect your hard drive unless you do this.

Typically, freezing studdering is a sign of HDD failure.

After spending all day trying to fix my PS3, I've gotten the dreaded 80010514 error.

A few questions, if anyone has the answers (I've Googled, but there's almost too much info out there and none of it is relevant):

1) I ran the back-up utility tool and there are .dat files saved on my external HD - All of my saves and what not are now copied onto my external hard-drive right? Or is there something else I have to do? I only really care about my Red Dead multi info. Don't want to have to start that over again.

2) I'm planning to trade my system in at Gamestop tomorrow. Anyone know how thoroughly they check the systems traded in? I'm hoping I can trade this in and pick up another without losing any more money on this.

Yep. GT is fairly solid. IGN and gamespot are just payed off reviews nonstop. It's pretty well known that these sites will suck a game's cock if the devs pay them but will trash the **** out of a game if they don't. It's all business.

Unrelated, but me and a few of my friends are thinking of starting a review site for games but we're going to do it a lot different than most sites. Quality reviews based on facts about the game instead of opinions based on people who I can't relate to. More info soon maybe :)

regenerate health i assume is only for single player we have never seen a multiplayer clip yet., guarantee there will be a health bar for mulitplayer. they are giving socom more options. its 2010. time to accept the changes. what do u mean no lean, the cover lean is way better and more realistic but im sure they will alos give u lean as long ure not in "cover" mode ...snap to cover system should only be done correctly, gotta be close enough to the wall to make it work i mean closer not the jump dash 5 ft....more like 1-2 ft. so it wouldnt be so bad. and it will make the firefights alot more interesting and more strategical.

That was the very first trail I did. Using X to shuffle fast in your friend on that trial. I finished it with about 27 seconds left to spare :D

I did all the difficult trails first. And now I'm just going through cleaning up on Paladin and the easy trails :)

I mean, its a good game, beautiful graphics, even nice storyline.....but just wasnt able to keep my interest. After playin GoW and Dante's Inferno, playing this is too much like playing those 2 for me to stay interested.

Only games that can really keep my attention nowadays are good RPG's. Games that really pull you into the action of whats going on, and let you make your own character. Thats why Im glad Fallout New Vegas comes out tomorow, should have that in the mail soon. And Fable 3, even though thats for 360. . .havent turned on my 360 in months. Barely turn on my PS3 except to watch bluerays when I got a female over... bishes love blue-rays.

I'm pretty pissed, the game is LITERALLY the same as MW2, everyone says it's not so they'll never improve it, and every other FPS game is inferior to it so I'm forced to get the god damn thing if I want a decent shooter. Medal of Honor blows online. Horrible spawn system, maps are small as phuck and horrible selection of guns.

it does suck. lol. but it was worth the cash imo. for the amount of time i invested in it, it wasnt expensive on a per/hr basis.

FINALLY finished RDR this weekend...man that game is so beyond epic i f*ckin love it.

I guess it's possible there was some problem with the one I used but from what I saw it had a lot of the same problems the Wii does.

Probably defective hardware. A lot of people go in there and abuse display/demo equipment.

best buy or any store like that is a terrible place to try it. the camera picks up the light at the end of the dildo for tracking, so any other lights on can **** it up.

when i first got it, my laptop was on behind me which has a flashing green light on the side of it, and it was enough to glitch it up. RE:5 is awesome with it btw

yeah this interface SHOULD be better than the 360's. i mean, i like the look and flow of the 360's netflix app, but with this one you can search directly from the ps3 so you don't have to use the computer to load things into your queue.

The no-holds-barred prototype developed by Polyphony Digital and Red Bull has been revealed in the latest issue of Car magazine in the UK! As you may recall, the X1 is the answer to Kazunori Yamauchi’s question: “If you built the fastest racing car on land, one that throws aside all rules and regulations, what would that car look like, how would it perform, and how would it feel to drive?”

Today SCEE's James Gallagher has detailed some recent Red Dead Redemption Hunting & Trading Pack issues that users may be experiencing due to an incomplete PSN upload by Sony.

To quote: It has come to our attention that an incomplete version of the Hunting and Trading DLC for Red Dead Redemption was uploaded to PlayStation Network; we apologise for any inconvenience.

This issue has since been rectified, but anyone that downloaded the pack before it was fixed may be experiencing the following issues:

- Days in game reset
- Missions cannot be started and/or do not reset for retries (user is always told to come back the next day)
- Gang hideouts empty with message to return later
- Some hideouts not recognized as gang hideouts and others say "please come back later"
- Buffalo herd not spawning
- Savvy merchant does not register that you have bought stuff in all gunsmiths
- Herb nodes do not reset and some nodes of all type are empty
- Mission markers gone from map and/or being told to come back after a particular time even after waiting over 24 hours
- The user cannot get back up after falling off a cart during a crash.
- When exiting multiplayer, the game saves but does not return to single-player
- The game only loads the following random events: "the poacher", "the herbalist", duals, and "damsel in distress". Missing are: "horse thief", "posse lynching", "cannibal" "wagon theft", "suicide", "hanging rescue", "assist the law with escapees", "dynamite delivery/explosion", "prostitute attack", "posse lynching"

If you are affected by any of these issues, check your Days Passed stat. If it has been reset to "-2? or appears low for the amount of real-life time you have played, then that is the cause of the rest of the issues.

The final version of the Hunting and Trading pack is 59MB. The incomplete version is 15MB and should be deleted before downloading the final version.

To delete the unfinished 'Hunting and Trading' pack on PS3:

1. Enter the XMB (cross media bar) menu
2. Scroll to the 'Game' tab
3. Select 'Game Data Utility'
4. Select 'Red Dead Redemption'
5. Press triangle and select delete

This does not delete your saved games or affect your game progress and all DLC, free and paid, can be reinstalled via the Download List in PlayStation Network Account Management on the PS3 XMB.

Well like I said it was a sectioned off part of the store with a 3ft white wall surrounding the area so there weren't any bright lights or other things around to affect it.

I finished prince of persia last night 6.5/10 the game is fun but very shallow experience.

Also the controls make my brain hurt, The final climb last night made me want to kill people, very difficult.

Going to grab 2 more games tonight have not been to blockbuster in a month, maybe pick up Mafia 2 & not sure what else...if LoS is in might get it.

Yeah, they are used for extra souls.
I usually save them for a rainy day though. Like when I just need 10k worth of souls to advance the next level, then I would use them.

EDIT: Demons souls are not for consumption though. You can consume them, but its better to use for magic and weapon upgrades.
