COD Black Ops

CoD: Black Ops Zombies confirmed

Call of Duty: Black Ops' Nazi Zombie mode has seemingly been confirmed, via an announcement of the game's official strategy guide given to CVG.

CVG's sneak peak at BradyGames' guide claims it'll offer "a complete walkthrough to the gritty Cold War-era Campaign mode, tips and tricks to rank up in Multiplayer, how to excel in Co-Op, or fight back the relentless Nazi Zombie horde".

The guide also promises "tactics for every type of Co-Op, Team-Based, and Head-to-Head play mode." That's that confirmed then.

Developer Treyarch first hinted at a Zombie Mode earlier this year - before seemingly shooting down the claims.

Then, writing this weekend on Twitter, Treyarch community boss Josh Olin promised fans that a co-op reveal is coming.

When asked if he knew what it was, he wrote, "I do... But it's not something I want to spoil ahead of time."

When fans pressed him on whether or not it was a Zombie Mode, he wrote: "If Zombies have anything to do with our top-secret Co-Op mode, then it's a safe bet there will be a trailer for it eventually..."

BradyGames' official Call of Duty: Black Ops guide is due out alongside the game on Tuesday, November 9.

probably not buying black ops. depends ona few RL firends. although i miss playing with waffles...... no homo

Yeah, it def is fun. But only if you're playing with real friends or people you play with a lot. I could only play like 3-4 matches and I would be done.

Its further damage control by Sony - since the PS3 Jailbreak is now official. USB's holding the code is out for sale all over the internet.

PS3 Jailbreak - Christ Holtz of Ipod Jailbreak fame hacked the PS3. There are distributors with the hack that can upload the code with almost any usb device. There is no longer a need for a mod chip.

Sony is in major damage control right now - disabling any non sony USB device. However there are sites that teach you how to mod PS3 controllers to upload the code onto your PS3.

This can be good and bad. For starters - this requires an original PS3, not the phony ones out there. The PS3 is still one of best value for money Blue ray players out there.

Also I don't think piracy will be rampant since the blueray decryption keys on the Blu-Ray Drive will take even longer to crack. Even then however,

i) Blu-Ray burners are expensive, and
ii) you'd have to download the 25-50 gig files as well.

It's not like it's going to be the next Dreamcast

I have read/write access to the entire system memory, and HV level access to the processor. In other words, I have hacked the PS3. The rest is just software. And reversing. I have a lot of reversing ahead of me, as I now have dumps of LV0 and LV1. I've also dumped the NAND without removing it or a modchip.

3 years, 2 months, 11 days ... that's a pretty secure system

I hope its better than the second one. The first one was sweet, the second one was horrible IMO. Tried to be like Halo or something with adding shields n ****...was just gay.

I was legit addicted to Resistance 1, ****ing loved that game. Was my first FPS, but I don't think I could go back to it.

It introduced me to so many different things, insanely fun sniping, and a different style of game I wasn't use to. Also glitching, that game is probably one of the most easiest games to glitch in, it's unreal.

But I picked up res 2 about 3 months ago, and couldn't even play it. The mechanics of that game are wack after playing cod for 3 years.

The Game of the Year pack is really just the first step in celebrating Uncharted 2's first birthday. Naughty Dog also announced today that players can hop online on October 16, 2010 and join in on some birthday plans. For that day, developers will be playing fans in brand new game types cooked up in "The Lab," the testing facility for Uncharted multiplayer. Naughty Dog's been offering Lab matches for a while, and that's only fueled fan speculation that the Lab is really just building out Uncharted 3 – an assumption that Naughty Dog Multiplayer Designer Justin Richmond and Co-President Evan Wells don't seem to mind.

"Whether it's the next game or whatever, we want to know if [our ideas] are interesting or not," Richmond told IGN. "We can play it internally all we want, but that's still only 100 people."

"Eventually we may be able to update the current playlist if we strike on something that has really resonated well with the community," Wells added.

No matter what the Lab is being used for, Uncharted 2 still has a dedicated multiplayer following – and Sony has the stats to back it up. In its first year, more than $6 trillion has been earned in in-game Uncharted 2 cash, more than 125 million matches have been played, and about 10,500 man years have been spent online. There has been more than 5 billion kills, 190 million headshots and 3 billion medals awarded.

"Frankly, I was shocked that we did so well so early –that we managed to pull players away from very, very strong multiplayer titles that came out against us like Modern Warfare and stuff," Richmond said. "I was ecstatic that people stuck with it."

Borderlands DLC 'Claptrap's New Robot Revolution' Out Tomorrow

The fourth piece of Borderlands DLC awesomeness, “Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution,” hits the digital playground tomorrow, September 28th on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC for 10 bucks.

Gearbox never denied the details spilled in the leak on the latest expansion, but here’s the official word: You play as a Vault Hunter. Your mission? You’re being sent to suppress a Claptrap uprising and will come face to face, potentially getting your ass kicked by the infamous Ninja Assassin.

The DLC incorporates 20 new missions, Claptrap-modded beasts (crab-traps, rakk-traps and skag-trapps), more skill points, more backpack slots and, most importantly, more loot to plunder and ransack! Oh, and free patch will also be raising the level cap to 69!! A list of all achievements, courtesy of Steam, can be found here.

Borderlands GOTY Edition is due out October 12th. The compilation will come included with all available DLC – that’s Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, and a code for the upcoming Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution.

It’s priced at $49.99 for PC and $59.99 on the 360/PS3 – but with $40 worth of DLC include it’s still a pretty good value.

Adam Fletcher, a Gearbox Employee from the forums also states the game will include a bonus map “that is awesome.” The Gearbox forums themselves are rife with debate as to whether the bonus map is an actual playable area, or in fact a real life, honest to goodness, fold-up analog map. The digital or physical nature of said map is yet to be determined as the official press release only says it’s a “comprehensive map of the Borderlands territories.”

We are also NFC South Rivals. BRB Hotlanta fan.

The ground game is two buttons. Stop and advanced. Striking feels just..odd...and not right at all.

Reversals feel unnatural. Just nothing feels as fluid as Fight Night..

this. the narration overlaid on maps and old-styled 'film' added a sense of realism (i.e. false history) to it that the second one sorely missed.

And Spelunker mode in 3D Dot Game Heroes can make a guy rage. There's one hit deaths on you. Most of it is fairly straight forward, but it's the cheap shots that make a guy go insane

I assume there's online with missions/tasks for online members to complete together... I know the main story picks up from AC2 in it. So a single player game and multi player online.

When I push a command on the controller. The response is not split second. It delays just over a second. So again, when I go to jump from roof top to roof top while running. He will run off the edge and hang there. So I'll need to pull myself back up and try again. Or when I go to jump and climb a wall/building. It won't jump the very second I push X. So push it again and now he jumps on the wall and jumps backwards off. As a double X command does that move. If you were to go around and just play the game very laid back. I wouldn't notice it much at all. Give me a timed mission or chase down race and much rage is going to happen.

So I'm playing Darksider's now. This game is Infamous, Dante's, X-men and GOW all in one, lol. With cartoonish graphic's. The view is just off as hell, lol. You have to keep hitting R3 just to get him to look where you want to go? Otherwise he runs sideways and never faces the direction you need to go. That is getting on my nerves, lol.

My mom wouldn't let me play ice hockey til I was in junior high because when she was little some kid fell and somebody skated over his hand and sliced his palm open.

So I just had to player roller hockey til I was 12 and then finally got to ice skate for the first time.

The Castlevania demo is good but short. Combat does play like GoW but feels different somehow. It still feels like Castlevania with the whip and sub weapons. I see more of the 3D PS2 Castlevania games in this than I do GoW. The only reason why it feels so much more like GoW now is because of the fixed camera but everything else is very similar to the PS2 versions.

I'm actually kind of glad they didn't try to directly copy the old Castlevania games and went with their own vision of the franchise. I can get my old school Castlevania fix from Order of Ecclesia and SotN.

yah i wish i could just experiment with combining weapons and stuff and walk around killing zombies but then theres like 5 missions that you need to be doing spread out all over the map...

I just said phuck the main mission on my game. So I'm having fun killing zombies and don't give a ****.

I'll start a new game after and carry stats over..if I do anyways, I may not. Kind of annoyed they kept the timer...or don't even have a mode where I can just free-roam around.

I compared our old Samsung plasma next to the new Mitsubishi dlp and the dlp looks just as good if not better(because of the size)

And I'm not saying It doesn't look good, but I think ac2, Just cause2, gow3, bad company2,
Looks just as Good if not better , I think Better environment.

Haha, I've got a 46" LCD. Maybe the larger TV is allowing you to see more pixelation, I don't know.
I have not played GOW3 so I cannot say on that but Just Cause 2 and BF2, really? I thought UC2 looked amazing (along with KZ2)

I'll have to check out GOW3 now that you say that. Just was never my style of gameplay...

UC2 colors are very bright and beautiful. All those other games are dark and grays. As far as TV's, a DLP is a projection. Which means you will have a glared screen unless you are sitting in a really dark room. I had a DLP Samsung for years and I hated that glare off it. Took this picture in 2005, thing was useless during the day. That and viewing angles, a Plasma/LCD,LED is prefect at any angle as the picture is the screen. Not projected onto. That and the 4" TV set thickness is nice too. But I have a hard time thinking the 63" we have now would be hung on a wall. It's like 200lbs, but it can.

i had 0 glare on my 50" Toshiba DLP..... serious... unless i had the windows wide open..

my new Samsung LCD though... good fking god its bright. can have the windows wide open and see it plain as day. colors are richer too.

Following the news last week that Sony sold around 140,000 units of Move hardware in the first few days, we can reveal that as of the September 25th over 300,000 units have now been sold, around 40% in the Americas and the remainder in EMEAA (Europe, Middle-East, Asia and Africa) - Japan has to wait until October 21st for Move.

Sports Champions (bundled with the Move pack in America and with some hardware packs in Europe) has now sold over 250,000 copies - by far the most successful Move compatible title to date and selling at over an 80% attach rate at this early stage. Sports Champions is clearly the early driver for Move hardware sales although as more software becomes available and new bundles are introduced we expect the attach rate to decrease.

Both the plasma and dlp have some glare but for the most part there's zero glare throughout the whole day mosly because its a good spot.

On the dlp the glare I see comes from when I sit on the far edge the kitchen light opposite of the TV glows.
Throughout a bright day ill admit the image can be less crisp with games and movies, but changing the setting helps beat out most of it

Don't remember which type maybe led or lcd those are the ones that don't have glare.

What's everyone's thoughts on the Playstation Move? I may have to buy one. I had a PS2 but moved up to Xbox360 when I found out the next installment of Splinter Cell was only going to be on the Xbox and PC. However, I liked PS. Loved playing SOCOM, and with the Playstation Move, one of the games coming out for it, is SOCOM 4.

Depends on the game. All the CoD games I've played on the PS3 have had trophies where you had to beat all the missions on vet. And there were some other things needed to be done for a trophy. Such as in WaW you had to shoot down 44 or so planes in one level (I forget the exact numbers and level)

How much have you spent on Dragon Age: Origins and its downloadable content? BioWare says the whole shebang, including Awakenings, is worth $114. Players who held out on purchasing the game and its downloadable content are in for a real treat next month, when that $114 becomes $59.99 in the Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition for the PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360.

It's enough to make one want to wait and see if they do this for Dragon Age 2 before investing one's money, isn't it? No, of course it isn't, and we'll be kicking ourselves this time next year as well. We're not a very patient group.

The Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition will be released on October 26.

Luckily I only bit on one of the map packs for this was still a great deal for me.

The projector in a box TV will not match that of a flat panel tv ( Picture Clarity/ Color saturation ). The DLP is a affordable means to give people the option to get a large tv and a great price. They all come a long way yes. Heck, I know Samsung as a built in anti-glare technology called FilterBright that they used for some years now. A LED will have very little to no glare at all. It's screen is very bright in color as it's made up of just what it's model type is ( led's ).

finished dead rising 2 tonight
if youd like to keep your sanity i wouldnt recommend playing it
most rage inducing game ever, just constant annoyances throughout
not to mention you'll Spend literally half your time waiting in load screens
had a lot of potential but just couldnt deliver imo
the next game i play needs to be something less stressful
between this and Halo Reach (another overrated pos i cant wait to get rid of) im ready to take an extended break from gaming
next month is pretty epic though w castlevania, enslaved, fallout, etc...

Reviews are saying the slims are the stripped down "cheaply made" versions of the fats

Anyways, my fat ps3, still works, but if I sign into the internet before playing a game, then press on the game, it freezes, screen blacks out. But if I don't sign in, game works, but then when I try to sign into the online IN the game, it freezes on the sign in screen....anyone have an idea what that is?

Should I just get the new 320 move bundle or what?
Get the new slim one (unless of course, your old one has backward support and you need that or w/e).

Dont know what they mean by cheaply made but the new one is lighter, smaller and more efficient. It wont overheat as easily as the old one and get the ylod.

Responding to the reaction of the "friends and families of fallen soldiers," Electronic Arts today said today they are removing the Taliban as playable characters from their upcoming military shooter Medal of Honor.

The opposing force that the U.S. military take on in Afghanistan in multiplayer bouts is now called the "opposing force."

Medal of Honor came under intense pressure from the military after it became known that in the multiplayer portions of the game, players would be able to take on the role of Taliban fighters.

In early September, the commanding general of the Army and Air Force Exchange Services told Kotaku that he decided to have Medal of Honor pulled from U.S. military bases worldwide because of the "well-documented reports of depictions of Taliban fighters engaging American troops" in the game.

Electronic Arts declined to comment at the time about whether the decision by the Army & Air Force Exchange Services would impact the design of the game.

In a statement this morning on the Medal of Honor website, Greg Goodrich, executive producer of Medal of Honor, said the decision to drop the Taliban reference was driven purely by the feedback from friends and families of fallen soldiers.

"This is a very important voice to the Medal of Honor team," he wrote. "This is a voice that has earned the right to be listened to. It is a voice that we care deeply about. Because of this, and because the heartbeat of Medal of Honor has always resided in the reverence for American and Allied soldiers, we have decided to rename the opposing team in Medal of Honor multiplayer from Taliban to Opposing Force."

Goodrich said the change will not directly affect gamers or alter gameplay.

GM's looked favourably upon the collaboration between single-player developer Danger Close and multi-player studio DICE - giving the overall Medal of Honor package 85 per cent.

The mag describes Medal of Honor as "A credible shooter that's more realistic than CoD, with multiplayer that sees DICE on top form."

However, there are suggestions that the online features somewhat over-shadow the single-player campaign.

"Like Battlefield before it, Medal of Honor is an engrossing online shooter with an above-average campaign mode bolted on," says GamesMaster.

"As a result, it's a purchase you should only seriously consider if your console is hooked up to the interwebs."

Earlier today it was revealed that the Taliban will no longer be named as such in the Medal of Honor multiplayer out of respect for soldiers and their families.

Naturally the whole Medal of Honor review can be found in issue 231 of GamesMaster. We haven't done it justice here, so make sure you check it out.

The mag also sports a massive hands-on playtest of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

Just another example of how f**ked up our standards are in the world. Look at Hollywood. They can and do make movies all the time that push extreme controversial topic's. They do it as it's a freedom they are entitled too as artiest. Also because it many cases it's real life as seen by both sides. This game is no different. They should have left it and boosted the sells even more. Just like CODMW2 did with the Airport. Didn't seem to hurt them any. The games are depicting real life. So in our minds here in the states. It's ok to shoot and kill the " other guys " all day long. But make it a game on what war is really like and now it's wrong. No one wants to see their own soldiers killed in combat. That's not the message here. But in war, we all know human lives will be lost. It's the ultimate cost of going to war in the first place. It's a real true fact of life.

I love stardust. Bought last week.
Messed with the 3d setting and looks pretty sweet.

Stardust is the best PSN game by far. I have like 800 hours in that ****. Was ranked top 20 on endless mode at one point.

Sucker Punch mulling inFamous 2 multiplayer News

Multiplayer, PlayStation Move and stereoscopic 3D are all being considered for inFamous 2 - Sony's big PS3 exclusive for 2011.

Developer Sucker Punch has mentioned the possibility of 3D and Move support in the past, but this is the first time it's suggested multiplayer as a potential feature.

"Sony has a lot of great technologies: 3D, Move, multiplayer. We're looking into all of them," inFamous 2 designer Darren Bridges told a Eurogamer Expo 2010 audience today.

"The single-player campaign is our main focus and then we're going to look at those other features and see if they fit in."

Bridges manned a robust on-stage demonstration of inFamous 2. He took the audience through New Morais and showcased the new parkour system and superpowers. We talked to him before the presentation about those.

His Eurogamer Expo 2010 session didn't, however, mention the morality system.

"It's going to be a pillar of inFamous 2," Bridges assured fans. "We haven't talked a lot about it yet, but it's definitely coming back."

"We want players to have a different experience based on how they play."

Another grey area was whether characters from inFamous 1 could be carried over to the sequel. "I can't talk about that. We've had that question a lot," said Bridges, not denying its inclusion.

Fans also quizzed Bridges on the ice powers spotted in a recent trailer.

"It was in the trailer," he admitted with a smile. "That's all I got for now, but stay tuned.

"He's still the electric man; he's not going to turn into ice man, but stay tuned."

Nevertheless, Bridges could confirm that side missions will return.

"They were actually a bigger success than we thought," he offered, but acknowledged, as a developer can, "there were some that sucked".

"They're going to be coming back. They're a big focus for us as well."

inFamous 2 is due out exclusively on PS3 next year.

In what can only be described as a new low, Best Buy has decided to take advantage of uneducated PS3 consumers. They are now in the business of selling firmware upgrades to their clients, which unless something changed, are free for anyone with a wifi connection and take little to no effort.

Here is a shot of what the Best Buy in Staten Island NYC is promoting:

In case it is unclear I will break it down for you. Best Buy has the audacity to charge $329.98 for a 120 gb PS3 Slim, which normally will cost you $299.99. So what are you paying an extra $30 for? A firmware upgrade! A free one that is as simple to do as turning your PS3 on.

Best Buy actually advertises it as “Eliminates Bugs and Glitches” and “Play All Blu-Ray Movies and Games.” This is beyond misleading to anyone who does not realize that is totally an unnecessary service.

What do you think? I can’t believe they are getting away with this, I guess the old saying is true… there is a sucker born every second and Best Buy is inspecting their wallets

Well, that's really probably because it's up to you man, lol. Why the 320gb and not the 120gb? If you wanted to keep the 80g. Then go on Craigslists and find a local shop that could look at it. They could simply fix it, clean it out of dust, etc. Then you are back in the game.

It works. At first it had this problem. If I signed in on psn then went to the game ANY game, it wouldn't play. But if I didn't sign in, game would work, and if I signed in during the game it would freeze on that screen no matter the game. I can clean it myself, but it formatted itself so i lost all my game data, so I was wondering if the new slims really have any problems with them or if the phats have any real things better than the slims...

Sounds like you could just take it to a local shop and have them bench test it. Could be a HD going out or a simple fix. Just never know. Some shops will back up your HD and swap consoles with you for $80 and your done. The slims are damn near bulletproof.

EA snubs Xbox with new FIFA ads

EA has skipped any mention of Xbox 360 in its latest run of mainstream UK FIFA 11 advertising.

The new print ads, appearing in men's lifestyle magazines and national newspapers today, only mentions the PS3, PSP and PS2 versions of the game. PC, Xbox 360 and Nintendo formats don't get a look in.

The ads carry the slogan of this year's game - 'We Are 11' - as well as the 10/10 review score from Official PlayStation Magazine.

The news follows Activision's recent print run of Call Of Duty: Black Ops ads - which failed to contain any hint that a PS3 version of the game is on the way.

Although not uncommon practice - EA also ran PlayStation-branded ads for Need For Speed and FIFA last year - the exclusive mention of Sony consoles hints at a cosying up between the FIFA brand and the platform holder.

Meanwhile, a burgeoning relationship between Microsoft and Call Of Duty also seems on the cards - following an announcement of timed 360-exclusive DLC at E3 in June.

An online FIFA 11 ad appearing on major mainstream sites - also ignores Xbox 360.

Now, if it's the newer of the 80g units. It's not worth the hassle as it was stripped down and only plays PS3 games ( 2 usb's, no card reader ) . In many ways, moving up to a Slim just makes more sense. They are much lighter, run cooler, use less power and not so bulky.

Here's part of a ad from a shop here near me off Craigslist: They know the total value of the older consoles is not much. So their prices will not be as high then the that value or even close. Wouldn't make sense to ever fix them at all then.

EA Speaks Out About Medal of Honor’s New Opposing Forces

Given the major outcry against the creative aspects of the upcoming Medal of Honor reboot, Electronic Arts opted to essentially remove the term “Taliban” from the multiplayer segment of the title. As with any controversy, an opposing opinion is present to dispute any change. With gamers calling out EA for giving in to the mainstream objections, the powerhouse publisher went on record to explain why the last-minute change should not matter to future Medal of Honor players.

To prove to gamers that the tweaked Medal of Honor multiplayer is still the same Medal of Honor multiplayer, EA and DICE, developers of the multiplayer portion of the game, have decidedly scheduled a multiplayer-only demo for release next week. According to Jeff Brown from EA:

“The reason we’re posting the multiplayer demo next week is so people can judge for themselves. Does changing one word in the menu screen have any impact on the actual play of the game that takes place in Afghanistan? If they think we shouldn’t have done that, I urge them to play it.”

Also worth noting is that the alleged true-to-live modern warfare experience in the single player portion of the title still features enemy troops that are still regarded as “Taliban”. If you’re still skeptical, check out the multiplayer demo releasing onto the PlayStation Store in due time. Medal of Honor releases in stores on October 12, 2010.
