Thanks brotha that is the name of the game, a major key is the no fluff buff training like Alex said, I try to keep **** as heavy as possible tryign to dig and trigger those muscle fibers!

I do it on everything, you can do HIIT on any piece of equipment, I also take it outside on the track and do car pushes, the mian thing is on the high intense part make it INTENSE!!!

Man pendalays are the business, especially doing some weighted rack chins sets before hand.

I neveer used pendelays until my prep and they have added and helped me maintain and gain back thickness and width, and yes rack chins are amazing as well!!!

Pendlay's are no joke, what sort of weight are you moving on those? I could never really go very heavy with them myself, but on the same hand I don't really do that exercise very often.

I got 275 for my last set yesterday, BUT mine are explosive, I keep mybak flat and putall the emphasis on my back but I use an extra umph so I can move some decent weight!

Hey RJ way to adapt brother. Do you find those box squats hard on your back once you hit the bottom and "deload" from your legs? I've never done them but I may add them for the same reason you are. All the cardio is taking a toll.

Yeah have to keep your back flat and your abs tight, if you put even the slightest arch you will begin to feel the pressure on your lower lumbar region.
Yeah my legs are absolutely dead from all the cardio and my hip flexors are getting fatigued so I had to find something, always appreciate you coming through homie!

I wanted to ask you also about doing Front Squats and using the straps. Do you find it helps with the stabilazation/ getting the weight up/ all of the above? I love them but getting heavy enough to do some damage and also not tear my shoulders out is a tough balancing act.

Its a comfort thing if your not comfy enough to do the exercise how can you do it!

Things have been hectic the past few week,s my house has been like a hotel! My mom was in town for a week, my mother-inlaw was in town, and my brotha from anotha motha Andy was in town.
With all of that and other personal things goign on nd I mean HUGE THINGS in teh work, dieting, training, and everything else has been a pain in the ass and very stressful. I have been keeping to the goal and sticking to the plan.

Here is my version of Betancourt Big Blend Pancakes
Ingredients
32g Big Blend Choco-Latte
45g Oats
70g Blueberries
113g FF Cottage Cheese
160g Egg Whites
Add as much water for desired thickness, if wanted you can use fat free milk for added carb/protein!
Macros
Made with water:
50g Carbs
60g Pro
5g Fat
Cooking
I use a 1/4 cup to measure out the batter I put on my skillet or griddle and this can make anywhere from 8 - 12 pancakes depending on how thick you make the batter. I make mine on thinner side of things! :)
Thouhgts
Best thing is there is no need for syrup or any added sweeteners the Big Blend powder along sweetens the deal and makes then phenomenal!

ya know just the other week I got a chance to train at the local college gym here in town and they had a machine to do glute ham raises on. It was the first time I had ever tried that exercise and I must say never before have I felt my hammies so isolated in one movement. I can see why they are a staple in Layne Norton's routine, as well as many others like yourself. Good stuff bro.

Dude my glutes are my hardest and weakest area, I tend to carry extra fat on them compared to a lot of peopl.
This is where genetics is a bitch!
Glut ham raises hands down will striate and bring in serious depth on your hams better than anything else in the books!

Things have been hectic in my personal in a great way but crazy busy, been trying to keep on point w/ everything and making proper adjustments and changes needed to be the best i can be on stage. There is no slcking on my diet, training, or cardio!
I have a new progres pic up and running, these were taken at 11 pm at night after 5 meals, 3 gallons of water, and a heavy HIIT cardio session. Legs are a bit swollen and holding water but all in all huge and vast improvements are in!

How do you find your prep has been Mr. A, and in particular your hunger levels during this contest prep?

WOW ummmm lol this prep has been nothing short of a huge learning curve and experience. One thing I am taking most from this is not to play the scale game because it really just end up hurting you in the end. I am ready for off-season w/ the knowledge I have accumulated but need to finish strong with this prep.
I have developed a lot of knowledge and a lot of what it really takes to be a natural bodybuilder, yeah may sound crazy but I have mentally developed into a true bodybuilder. One thing for sure is I can look at myself in the mirror an know that i have been doing everything in my power to be where I need to be and look elite and that is all that really matters to me right now whether pro card or no pro card I know I did EVERYTHING I was supposed to be prepared on the stage.
As far as hunger pains, ehh not really, hungry and phening yes lol. It has been a very long and winding road I am just looking forward to finally stepping on stage and getting it done :)
P.S. Don't get it twisted I WANT THAT PRO CARD!

Honestly it is a hard lesson learned with my experience and cardio for the off-season, I found out too late, the reason why I m paying for it now. This off-season my approach will be close to being the same as my prep. Obviously not as much and frequent but the styl and types etc. all that will come with the off-season log ;)

Ok so I have had a lot of people ask and hit me up left and right asking me when and where my show will be? I have been putting in quite a bit of time and effort in to this prep so that I can be the very best and hopefully eanr my IFPA Pro-Card, believ me the show was supposed to be a lot sooner but once again things change, stuff pops up, and its always an on going battle to know when you will be ready.

The are by weight, then after that by height if/when needed, but I dont really care or give into all that too much I focus on what I need to do and what needs to get done regardless of height/weight
