Ok folks, here's the story:
My 44 year old training partner is facing the prospect of hip replacement surgery. He wants as much information he can get from people who know anything about this. Any and all ideas will be appreciated and passed along to him. If you need any information from me about the situation, I'll try to get it from him.
He is very athletic and has played a lot of football. He's about 6'1, 235 lbs. Recently he joined our Powerlifting team and did a couple bench and Deadlift meets. His hip started to hurt him bad, so he now has two Orthopedic doctors (one is a surgeon) telling him that his X-Rays are showing a bad situation in his left hip that will definitely require surgery. They're saying that it seems to be a genetic condition, and it's close to being bone-on-bone.
He is in a lot of pain from day to day living. Celebrex has not helped the pain.
Thanks.
