Be more concerned with chest to waist ratio.

you can't do a damn thing to change the size/structure of your waist, all you can do is get as lean as possible.

again...all you can do is diet away ALL of the fat. you can't just will yourself into having a smaller waist. it is what is brotha. no reason to get so caught up in a silly measurement.

everyone is different dude. ive been down to 139lbs @ 5'9 and my waist wasnt lower than 31-31.5"
i physically wont go lower because of my hips. so who cares? make your chest, shoulders bigger to make waist look smaller

I think you are confusing fat around the mid section with waist size. Waist size is fixed. You cant change it. Fat around the mid section needs to be non-existent. If you cant see all of your abdominals etched in detail, the veins running through your pelvis, and your spinal erectors exposed, you are not lean enough. And thats really the minimum level of leanness needed to do well at a natural show. Most guys will lose the fat from the mid section, lower back, and THEN hams and glutes. So, even if you see all that.....keep dieting until you can see lines in your ass. THis is a more elite level of conditioning that few achieve.

Don't put a lot of emphasize on your obliques when training your abs. If you do target them, stick with body weight at high repetitions. What ever core muscle groups you hit will keep them strong as well.
