Thanks for the support! My plan as far as exercise is as follows:

Mornings
5:15 - 6:15am Mon Spinning/Step Combo
5:15 - 6:15am Tue Circuit Training (little/no rest in between)
5:15 - 6:15am Wed Spinning/Step Combo
5:15 - 6:15am Thu Circuit Training (little/no rest in between)
5:15 - 6:00am Fri Yoga/Pilates

Evenings
(First 3 weeks and depending on how it works out, I may switch to full body 3x's wk)
6:30 - 7:15pm Wed Legs
6:30 - 7:15pm Thu Chest
6:30 - 7:15pm Fri Back
6:30 - 7:15pm Sat Shoulders/Bi's/Tri's

...as far as meals, I really want to stick to low high protein and low carbs. I have been experimenting lately and noticed that carbs really make me feel tired and sluggish. I plan to pre-cook my meals on Sundays and freeze them. I am constantly running and Mondays and Tuesdays this summer will be extremely LONG days for me. As long as I have something with me, I won't fall off track. My goal is to:

-consume at least 5 meals per day with my last meal being NO LATER THAN 7 pm
-food will consist of primarily fish (tuna, salmon, tilapia), lean cuts of skinless/boneless
chicken breast, egg whites, string cheese, turkey bacon, fresh green veggies, limited fresh
fruit (all before 2 PM), oatmeal, green tea, and a gallon of water per day

Currently, I drink anywhere between 72 and 96oz. of water on a daily basis but I'm really trying to hit a gallon. I should be proud that I'm at least over the 1/2 gallon mark.

I may be a little TOO ambitious on my nutrition but to achieve what I want means I must sacrifice some things. I don't use sugar and I only use sea salt whenever I use salt (which is very limited anymore). What do you think thus far?

Your plan looks solid. I prefer a low/no carb diet because, a) it's easier to monitor, and b) I feel better eating that way. :)

The only thing I have to say is that eating after 7 is perfectly fine as long as you don't go over your calories for the day.

Morning Credz,

Things have been a little wild. I have family in town this week (my son is graduating from high school) but I HAVE been very conscious about my food intake and I have been maintaining my 10 glasses of water a day. :) YES! I have "THE FINAL COUNTDOWN" on my computer, my phone calendar, my calendar at the office, calendar at home, and my planner! I am taking this time to mentally prepare, visualize my transformed body, and psych myself up.

Morning Simpy,

Thanks! I have been experimenting with different intakes of carbs and noticed that they really make me sluggish and even more so in the afternoons and evenings. I actually tried the low carb/high protein eating and I really felt much better eating that way which is why I want to incorporate it.

The reason I decided not to eat after 7 is because I try to make myself go to bed by 9:30 (which is sometimes impossible but I try). I get up at 4:30 a.m. and I realize rest is crucial for recovery and that is something I have NOT done successfully in the past. I'm going to work it out!

I received my supplements on last Friday. I ordered KetoCuts and CreaDyl. I have never taken Creatine before so that will definitely be new for me. I do have some questions about supplements but I'll post those a bit later.

On the last few pages the top ten are being announced from last year's competition. It was run a little differently with men and women competing in the same section. But it's still cool to see what's going on.

Actually, I'm dealing with it pretty well. I think he stressed me to my crazy limits throughout high school but deep in my heart, I know he'll be fine. He has goals and is focused so I want to be the steady hand of guidance as opposed to the neurotic mom in need of a straight jacket and padded walls LOLOL...*sigh* It hasn't hit him quite yet but he doesn't have the conventional vision of what the next step is and he got a lot of flack for that but I'm a firm believer that if you do WHAT YOU LOVE and not what others love for you, you will be just fine.

I do have some questions. I posted my workout plan but wanted to get some information on supplements. I ordered the KetoCuts and the CreaDyl but I have never used creatine so I want to make sure I use the supplements the right way to promote my weight loss and muscle gain. Also, I plan to purchase the following:

CLA Tonalin
L-Carnitine
Glutamine
Whey Protein

My morning workouts are strictly cardio on Mon and Wed, boot camp style training on Tue & Thur (non-stop varied workouts incorporating cardio and resistance training with minimal to no recovery) and yoga/pilates on Friday mornings. My strength workouts will be in the evenings Tues - Friday. How should I incorporate the supplements?

Nena26

I literally dragged myself out of bed this morning as I didn't get to sleep until after midnight. But I was up at 4:45, took my FIRST dose of KetoCuts along with my L-Arginine, Isopure Whey Protein and BCAA and 30 minutes later, I was at the gym. This morning was circuit training which consists of high reps with little to no rest in between. Warm-up included 5 minutes of non-stop squatting, lunging, and dipping all without weights but utilizing upper and lower.

Squatting with overhead press
Plie squats with upright row
Lunging with bicep curl
Dipping with forward raise

After the warm-up, I worked shoulders, bi's, tri's, chest and back using light weights but high reps. Weights used were, blue resistance band, 15 lb. bar, 6 lb. dumbbells, 9 lb. dumbbells, and 12 lb. dumbbells.

I started off with push-ups (full body, not modified) - 16 reps, immediately turned over for bicycle maneuver and repeated the cycle once again.

Afterwards, used the bar with the band (for added resistance) and proceeded to complete 16 reps of bicep curls, immediately followed by 16 reps of a shoulder exercise which I don't know the name of (basically you hold the bar with a close underhand grip, arms are angled at 90 degrees in front of you and you lift above your head and return to start position) using the same bar, MINUS the band. Afterwards, used the bar for bent over rows (underhand grip) and then repeated the cycle all over again.

Next up were something I call up, out/in, out/in - using the bar, stand and perform a front raise. Then press the bar in (if you were lying down it would look like a bench press) towards your chest and back out (arms must remain parallel to the floor). I REALLY felt these in my shoulders (WHAT A BURN!). I performed 16 reps of that and immediately transitioned to cardio using the 6lb. weights. Light jog with shoulder press (two arms then one at a time). Did that for two minutes. That was followed by alternating bicep curls for two minutes (still jogging lightly).

Next up was close grip push-ups to work the triceps. Performed as many as possible for 1 minute. This was immediately followed by lying tricep extensions (using 9lb. weights - one in each hand). It was a slow 2-2 count. 2 counts down, 2 counts up for 1 minute. Repeated the cycle and finished with ab work.

Ab work consisted of more bicycle maneuvers and hip thrusts - one minute each.

FINALLY, a nice and welcomed stretch!

Amazingly, I did not feel jittery at all after taking the KetoCuts. I felt really focused on my workout and felt I had the energy needed to push through.

My weightlifting officially begins tomorrow evening but I MAY slip in the gym tonight. I am really ready to see this FAT melt away. Stay tuned...my HORRENDOUS before pictures will be up tonight. May GOD help you all and let me ask your forgiveness now for having to subject you to the horrors of my fat cells.

I'm psyched! I'm stoked! I want a bikini body by August! I want to once and for all be healthy, live healthy, and LOVE FITNESS!

Hi Simpy! That was one of my concerns (the jitters). I have some friends who used things supplements that caused them to bounce of the walls and it freaked me out. I was so nervous I would get that *rush* feeling but it didn't happen so I really like that.

THANKS! I want to get my feet wet this year and see what comes as a result. :) And as far as the photos...ewwwwwwwww but I'll post them. I wish we could have a "Pre-Challenge Wall of Shame" and a Post Challenge Wall of Fame". ~_~

I am not originally from here and I think the stress of relocating and being so far away from family and friends really contributed to some of my emotional eating and weight gain. I arrived here weighing 143 lbs. and in the past 3 years I ballooned to a peak weight of 184 and am now at 178. I have in the past year got my stress and emotional eating under control. I do NOT eat in front of the television and I make myself consciously aware of the food choices I make now.

Crown Plaza is very lovely during the holiday season. Moving here allowed me to see snow for the FIRST time in my life! ~_~ I appreciate you following my journey. ~_~

This morning, I took my Keto-Cuts along with my Whey Protein, BCAAs, and L-Arginine.

My morning workout consisted of Spin and Step Aerobics Class. Needless to say there was NO down time and recovery intervals were MINIMUM. I felt very energized and pushed through the entire way. Tonight's workout is dedicated to LEGS! I'm a glutton for that burning sensation I get whenever I am performing squats and I can't wait to get started.

The meals I have lined up for today are as follows:

Pre Workout - KetoCuts
Whey Protein
BCAAs
L-Arginine

Meal 1 - Meal Replacement Shake
1 Egg White
24oz. Water

Meal 2 - 6oz. Tuna
4oz. Green Beans
24oz. Water

Meal 3 - 6oz. diced chicken breast
8oz. salad (NO DRESSING)
24 oz. water

Meal 4 - 6oz. Tuna
4oz. Green Beans
24oz. Water

Meal 5 - Turkey burger (NO SALT)
1 cup spinach
24oz. Water

My evening workout supplements will consist of the CreaDyl as I will have taken my second serving of KetoCuts before I make it to the gym. My intended leg workout will consist of:

Squats (Barbells/Machine - Hack Squats)
Standard
Plie
Sumo
Hack

Lunges (Dumbbells)
Static
Walking

(Both performed with Dumbbells)
Step Ups
Dips

All exercises will be performed as supersets so as to keep my heart rate elevated and help me get burn a few more calories :).

My goal is to add lean muscle while burning fat so I'm not sure if I should be aiming for heavy weight/low reps or lighter weight/high reps.

What do you think?

Evening workout KICKED MY BUTT!!!

I prepared the CreaDyl and began my slow sip prior to leaving for my workout. I must say I definitely felt energized. It's been very long since I have lifted heavy (well, heavy for me) so I didn't know where my start and max points were. I performed the following routine:

Warm up

Superset

High rep squats with 40lb. bar
High rep deadlift with 40lb. bar
High rep plie squat with 15 lb. dumbbell

Mild stretching

WORKOUT
Superset
Barbell Squats 40 x 8, 50 x 8, 60 x 6, 60 x 6
Barbell Lunges 40 x 8, 50 x 8, 60 x 6, 60 x 6

Superset
Leg Press 90x15, 180 x 8, 200 x 8, 230 x 6
Seated Leg Curl 55 x 8, 65 x 6, 75 x 4, 80 x 3

Superset
Step ups (no weights) 1 min each leg
Sumo Squats (no weights) 1 min slow

Finished with
Adductors 115 x 15, 130 x 15
Abductors 115 x 15, 130 x 15

10 minute stretching

MOOD: My legs were trembling by the time I was done and I was very concerned because my knee was mildly stating its presence. Less than 3 months ago I hyper-extended my left knee and as I proceeded to perform the heavier reps on some exercises, I could feel it. It didn't hurt but it was a little uncomfortable. I'm also still recovering from a torn calf which, I'm still trying to figure out how I did that. I have such a high tolerance for pain that I sometimes dismiss tweaks and tinges. Perhaps I should pay more attention to that.

Overall, I felt charged throughout the workout. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. ~_~

Thanks! I feel I should have done more but because it's been so long since I have been in a routine or rhythm, I didn't want to overdo it. Also, I'm finding I have to rediscover where my maximum ranges are, too.

I was on the FX Crosstrainer (it is a cardio machine that simulates climbing). I was moving quickly and for some reason, my knee was trying to bend in the opposite direction as opposed to the natural way to complete the rotation. I felt it immediately. It hasn't been right since. :(

I followed up with a protein shake. It was too late to eat since I try to get to bed early...like in an hour. LOLOL Depending on how it feels later in the week, I may tweak my splits to total body 3 times per week. I'll have to see. Either way, I'm just really EXCITED about lifting again. Yes, it's never the same and that sucks!

Thanks! Looking forward to the others scheduled for this week as well. Sorry about your knee. I detest injuries and hate when they happen. I feel like it takes forever to recover. LOL

This morning I woke up at 4:45 a.m. and immediately had my supplements consisting of:

Two a days???

You ARE hardcore!!! :D

GREAT JOB Nena!!!

Anything fun planned for the holiday weekend?

Thank you StlBarbie! I know the hardest thing I face is burning fat so I have to get my cardio in and I feel better doing it in the morning, first thing and finishing my days with weights. I'm aching but it lets me know my muscles are coming alive again. Tonight is reserved for BACK and tomorrow - shoulders/bi's/tri's so we'll see what happens.

The weekend weather is going to be great (just a small chance of a rain shower) but I received some horrible news this morning. A beloved family member who was like a father to me passed away. I was making arrangements to go home in 2 weeks but sadly, he wasn't able to hold on. He would have celebrated a birthday in June. I'm going in to the office late today because I REALLY need this morning to pull myself together and find distractions. I missed my morning yoga/pilates class and since I"m going in late, I will pop in my DVD here at home. I didn't break from my nutrition so that's a great plus for me (undo stress and anguish trigger mindless eating for me).

How about you? Do you have any plans? I hope you have a great holiday weekend.

Supplements

It has been a difficult day today having learned of the sudden loss of a loved one. I stated earlier that I am an emotional eater and stressful situations trigger mindless eating. Fortunately, my stress eating wasn't triggered TOO badly but my intake wasn't entirely clean today either. I still mustard up the will to exercise and today's workout consisted of the following exercises:

Day 5 REST DAY
Overall, I am feeling a little sore still but I did notice that a pair of jeans I own in which were very snug in the waist and hip area were literally sliding down as I walked. I thought perhaps it was just me but it wasn't and so I am excited about the changes that are taking place already. My goal is to drop 2 - 3 lbs. per week and so I will weigh myself on Tuesday to see where I am.

I did not experience that tingling sensation today after taking the KetoCuts like I had before. I don't know if it is because I was sure to wash it down with a LOT of water, or if it was because I went from 2 capsules twice a day to 1 capsule twice a day. I did feel energized throughout the day. I am going to order the NO Beta and the Glutacene and see how that works for me as well.

Hey--I'm finishing up my second week and going to follow along with your journey. I've also noticed I don't get the tingling as much lately (can't say I miss it--especially the red chest at work!). My weight loss is not significant--went back up slightly this weekend--but you're probably spot on with clothes fitting better. I was amazed that I only lost a couple of pounds, but did already lose 1/2-1+inches in different areas. Whip out a measuring tape and take a look!

Good luck this week. Good Mondays=good weeks ;)

Today is the day set aside for major grilling and other crazy foods. I did not overindulge. Fortunately for me, they are conscious to the fact that I do NOT eat barbecue so I had grilled chicken breast, grilled beef patty andgreen beans. I did sample dessert (one of the children baked a cake and was very excited for us to sample it so I had a sliver. I don't eat all the other fixings (deviled eggs, potato salad, etc.) so that wasn't tempting for me at all.

Morning Workout
Spinning/Step 45 minutes (HIGH IMPACT w/less than 30 seconds rest between bike and step routines)
This workout is INTENSE and we do a combination of high resistance riding and sprint riding intervals fluidly. Then, after our legs are numb *smile*, we step and incorporate plyometric moves (think Jumping Staggered Squats on the step). I'm always sweating like crazy and exhausted by the time I leave. That let's me know I'm working my butt off! The KetoCuts definitely helps to get me charged. I can certainly tell a difference in my energy levels. I did not experience that tingling sensation and I suspect it is because I consumed 32 oz. of water with it. ~_~

I'm keeping a daily food log but rather than plug ALL of that individual stuff in here, I provide the breakdown of the macros which I am still tweaking and trying to get right. I think, for the most part, my caloric intake is not bad for what I am trying to accomplish. My meals are small portions and I am trying my best to keep record of my midday slumps. They tend to fluctuate so I'm trying to pinpoint exactly why that is.

I missed my evening workout due to trying to make travel arrangements. That means I will have to hit my two-a-days really hard Thursday through Sunday. Overall, my mood was light and far LESS stressful as it was the day before. This is week 2 and I'm still motivated...determined to shred this fat.

I'm going to make a suggestion, and then I'm going to butt out. . .

I wouldn't recommend consistent two-a-days this early in the competition. I would save that for the end when you're facing one of two situations: 1) you have stalled in your progress, or 2) you find that you aren't progressing quickly enough.

LOL...I will give it a go and see what happens. My challenge is that I don't have enough time in the morning to get both weights AND cardio in. Morning Supplements
KetoCuts (taken 30 minutes prior to workout)
CreaDyl (began sipping SLOWLY 1 hour prior to workout)
CLA Tonalin
L-Carnitine

Morning Workout
Intense circuit training incorporating high reps of everything. I used 6lbs. (light) and 20lbs. (heavy) dumbbells. This 50 minute session consisted of upper body conditioning with cardio and 10 seconds of rest in between. Shoulder presses, tricep kickbacks, lying pullovers, bench press, push-ups, jabs w/light weight were all conducted in either sets of 16 or sets of 24 with the final circuit performed to failure. Ab work was done in sets of 24 with the final set to failure and consisted of crunches, reverse crunches, oblique twists, and finished with planks (holding for 1 minute). It was grueling but I know it will pay off.

During my workout, I will say I felt extremely energized. I think ingesting the CreaDyl prior to the workout as opposed to just before and during works more effectively for me. I had moments where I know typically I would have stopped going but I PUSHED THROUGH. I also noticed I felt that tingling sensation when I drank the CreaDyl. I think perhaps because I didn't have any water with it. It wasn't as prevalent as it has been in the past and it subsided a lot faster than it has in the past.

I did consume more than a gallon of water today and that was GREAT. I hydrated with 24 oz. of water prior to my workout and consumed an additional 24 oz. during the workout.

Mood
I had a MAJOR eating setback today. I was supposed to be flying home for a funeral on Friday and my ticket somehow got completely jacked up and now I can't make it...unless I pay an additional $375 on top of the $443 I just paid. I was devastated and my eating reflected it. I started out strong but as the frustration and stress continued to build, it began going downhill. It's bad enough I haven't been home in nearly 5 years and I was actually going to be flying home in several weeks. But this unexpected emergency blindsided me and it is really hard for me to know I can't be there to pay my final respects. *sigh* I'm not in the office today but I did workout this morning and I will workout again this afternoon - HARD. Tonight will be no less than a two hour session.

I realize LIFE HAPPENS and the key to it all is remaining focused. Now that I have reprimanded myself for my wayward binge, I have forgiven myself so that I can pick right back up and GET IT DONE! "Life is pain. You just get used to it."

Thank you both Storm1507 and StlBarbie. I know it gets worse before it gets better which I guess is why my car ended up in the shop and I ended up stranded at home yesterday. *sigh* My diet was much improved yesterday in spite of my frustrations and I've continued the streak today.

So I found myself still very upset about not being able to fly home. My eating did improve which is a great thing. My car is in the shop and I spent the day working from home and back and forth on the phone during the afternoon with family back home to ensure all the arrangements were properly made and there would be no hiccups in the ceremony on Saturday. My energy is still there by my focus is all jacked up right now and I'm trying to shake it off and get my mind right.

Day 5 Morning Supplements
KetoCuts (taken 30 minutes prior to workout)
CLA Tonalin
L-Carnitine

Day 5 Morning Workout
Cardio - Track
Vigorous walk 1 mile to track
2 miles on track (combination of speed walking, jogging, and full out sprints for 2 miles)
Vigorous walk 1 mile home

I NEEDED this outdoor activity today. I needed to get angry, sad, CRY and push myself on that track. I was cautious not to overdo it as my knee is not 100% and WILL give out on me but I pushed myself enough to know that I will definitely FEEL it tomorrow and I did NOT let myself quit or skimp out on my workout in that 90 degree heat. If I don't get my car back this afternoon, I am going to do calisthenics here at home (push ups, situps, jumping jacks, etc.) and use my RESISTANCE BANDS. The last trainer I had was OUTSTANDING and she showed me just how effective of a workout you can get at home with a chair, resistance bands, and a few free weights. I was ALWAYS exhausted after my hour long session with her. She is truly my SHERO!

Today is the service and that has been at the forefront of my mind. Although I wanted to lie in bed all day, I MADE myself get up and get out of this house. I am not going to stop. I will not allow myself to view my setbacks as failures. They are simply bumps in the road that caused me to temporarily pull over and check the tires. Now that I know the tires are good, I'm back on the road again. Hurt is something that takes time to heal and I know that pushing through on my workouts definitely helps with that.

CLA Tonalin

Nutrition
Total Calories 1,425 Fat(g) 77.8 Carbs(g) 102.2 Protein(g) 105.9 Water(oz) 136 oz.

Mood
I did not experience that tingling sensation at all after taking the KetoCuts today. I was sure to drink 24 oz. of what with each dosage (morning and afternoon). I did feel energized and a little more focused on what I needed to do as well.

Overall I think I am calming down. My mind is shifted to focus more on what I have to do. It's only week to and I haven't even begun to put a dent in my progress so I need to assess the past two weeks (nutrition and fitness routines) so that I may tweak accordingly. Week 3 will be better. Distractions will be eliminated...even if that means I have to turn of my phones. I'm going to throw my gym bag in the car so I can change into my workout clothes at work and head straight to the gym when I get off this week.

I wasn't able to get my evening workout in which SUCKS. Some unexpected events came. Tomorrow is going to be a full body day. It HAS TO be so I can ensure I hit each muscle AT LEAST once.

Mood
This morning I feel quite calm. My house is quiet and I going to take this opportunity to do some inner reflecting and meditate so I can regain my balance and get this week started off right. I want this transformation - NEED this transformation. Not because the incentives are great - but because I want to finish what I started. My road to restoring my health and fitness has been a long and arduous one. I've overcome SO MUCH in my life and for so long I've been held back. There is no reason for me to be held back any longer. I want to break that wall - that barrier - that somehow always manages to allow me to get so close I can smell the victory and then snatches is it out from under me. I'm tired of being disappointed and I'm tired of the words CAN'T and NEVER. I'm dedicating this mission to my children, to the loved ones I have lost due to poor health, and most importantly to the person who most deserves it - ME. It is TIME!

UPDATE: My water intake was on the low side. I have to fix that on Monday. I felt charged and didn't experience that tingling sensation in the afternoon. I needed to consume a few more fibrous carbs today because I felt really bloated. I need to purchase some senna tea or get some Psyllium Husk.

Thank you StlBarbie. My rep range for full body workouts is 15 maximum, 12 minimum. I realize I will not hit 12 on everything as I expect to build strength as well but overall, I know full body workouts are very effective for me because I allow myself to rest only in between sets or as I am moving from station to station. I get in and out in 45 minutes top.

Drooks, I appreciate your comment. I'm doing my best.

Mood
I was calm this morning. Today is the first day I haven't cried so that is a good thing. I'm taking all of those emotions and I'm using them - REALLY USING THEM. I woke up an hour earlier than I normally do. I meditated to gain focus on the task at hand and prepared accordingly. My muscles are aching from Saturday's run/walk/sprint session but it's a great feeling. I took my morning supplements and could feel the rush just in time for my workout. I pushed myself hard this morning on the spin bike and added some great resistance to really make me push.

Tonight is an OFF night for me as is tomorrow night. But, Wednesday evening is a FULL BODY workout and I'm looking forward to it. By noon, I had consumed 104 oz. of water and I feel great about that!

Thank you so much Cathb! I really appreciate it and I'm so glad to know it isn't boring you to pieces. :) As far as the water goes, I have been working on that for some time. I use a 24 oz or 32 oz container and try to have two of each by noon, if not more, and another two before bedtime. My workouts definitely help with it as I consume at least one container during my workout and I find that drinking at least half that amount with my supplements is very helpful also.

Hello Simpy. I've been on an emotional rollercoaster because I lost a loved one who was like a father to me within days of finding out his condition was extremely grave and I wasn't able to speak to him (he was unconscious) or get there prior to his death. Then to top it off, the airline jacked up my flight arrangements and I wasn't even able to attend the funeral.

Thanks a log Manbeast! I'm trying to be consistent so as not confuse my readers.

Thank you so very much Simpy. I appreciate your sympathy.

I hope you all are having outstanding and productive weeks!

Day 1 -Week 3
This is officially the start of week 3. My progress is slow coming but I know I haven't been 100% and I haven't completely perfected my workout/nutrition formula. So this week, I will be introducing NEW ARSENAL into the mix - P90X. I still have every intention on hitting the gym but I NEED to push myself. It doesn't take long for me to build muscle but it takes me FOREVER to burn fat and in my case, I have a LOT to burn. My mindset is more focused now that the funeral services are over and I've spoken with family to ensure the eldest of our members are in good spirits. That eases my mind a lot. Now, I can turn my attention back to my goals.

Day 1 - Week 3 Morning Supplements
KetoCuts (Morning & Afternoon)
L-Carnitine
CLA Tonalin

Day 1 - Week 3 Morning Workout
There is no afternoon workout planned for today. This morning's workout was intense. The circuit training class I take is high energy, high intensity and I'm EXHAUSTED by the time I'm done. We tend to go a little lighter on Tuesdays but that just lets us know we are going to really GET IT on Thursdays. This morning's routine consisted of lots of plyometrics, pyramid sets of various weightlifting, abs, and cardio for 50 minutes.

Day 1 - Week 3 Afternoon Supplements
KetoCuts
L-Carnitine
CLA Tonalin

Day 1 - Week 3 Nutrition

Total Calories 1,311 Fat(g) 64.3 Carbs(g) 112.7 Prot(g) 71.0 Water(oz) 72

NOTE: My water intake was lower than I typically care for. I do my best to get at least 96 ounces (minimum) as my daily target is always 1 gallon.

MOOD

Overall, I feel good. I'm a little impatient with myself right now because I want to SEE some physical results. I am begining to see a hint of shrinkage in my upper arm areas and my upper back is starting to allow some definition to show through. However, I am a perfectionist so for me it's not enough until I can actually see striations (I know I am a LONG WAY OUT for that).

Morning Workout
Today is spin/step day. This class is ALWAYS high intensity and I love it. Our drill today included several hill climbing simulations which kicked butt big time. I took my morning supplements and definitely needed the energy to push through. I am getting low on KetoCuts so I will have to place another order this weekend (DO NOT want to run out of those).

Afternoon Workout
Today's planned workout (shown below) did not happen because I was stuck at work late and by the time I arrived on my end of town, the gym was closed. :(. Therefore, I am going to have to make it up this weekend.

Planned Evening Exercise
I will have to make this up on another day.

Seated Dumbbell Press
Side Lateral Raise
Machine Shoulder (Military) Press
Reverse Flyes
Tricep Dumbbell Kickback
Bench Dips
Kneeling Cable Triceps Extension
Dumbbell Alternate Bicep Curl
Concentration Curls
Cross Body Hammer Curl

Morning Workout
This morning's work out WORE ME OUT. There was some ridiculous catty drama in our spin class and we paid for it today! We used a combination of light, mid, and heavy dumbbells and commenced to doing minute long sets of:

squats
lunges
dumbbell chest press
alternating bicep curls
pullovers
skull crushers
concentration curls
bent over double arm rows
planks
crunches
reverse crunches

NOTE: I should have taken my CreaDyl along with my KetoCut for this workout. Thank God I took the KetoCuts in enough time for it to KICK IN because I would NOT have been able to push through this grueling session. We literally jumped from one to the next and in between we were engaging in jumping jacks with overhead presses to keep our heart rates up.

Day 3 - Week 3 Nutrition

Total Calories 1,194 Fat(g) 40.5 Carbs(g) 135.7 Prot(g) 95.4 Water(oz) 108

NOTE: I was 20 ounces shy of my gallon - DARN!

MOOD
I felt really good today. That workout was just what I needed to ramp me up and yet, calm me down. Thank GOODNESS tonight is not a weight night. I think perhaps I will heed Simpy's advice about two-a-days for now but I do want to continue my cardio classes in the morning and incorporate P90X as well. My boyfriend bought this for me months ago and I it's taken me all this time to get around to push PLAY! Well, now I am mentally in a place where I need to be to get it done.

Morning Workout
This morning was supposed to be yoga/pilates and I missed it. Boy do I sure NEED it. My muscles are SHOUTING at me. It's a good thing though. It lets me know my workouts are effective. I got a lot of running around in today at work though. I think I was on my feet back and forth (and I do NOT walk slowly) for half the day today. I hate that I missed my workout this morning. BUT all is not a total wash -- tonight, I will make up for it. I'm getting ready to take some CreaDyl and power/gear up for this P90X KICKOFF - the pain begins TONIGHT!!!

Day 3 - Week 4 Nutrition
So far today I've consumed:

Total Calories 958 Fat(g) 36.5g Carbs(g)188.5 Protein 120.5 Water(oz) 72

REFLECTIONS
I have to do some more research to get my diet cleaned up - really cleaned up. This weekend I think I'm going to invest in Tosca Reno's "Eat Clean" book. I've heard great things about her recipes and I don't mind giving it a whirl. I want the TOTAL package, lean, strong, fit, healthy, nutrition and check, mind right, and spirit one with it all. This isn't about doing it for 16 weeks and then letting myself go. For me, this is about longevity and a new way of life - one in which I can be happy and completely in love with myself through and through. Now, it's time for some P90X!

Looks like you've got some great workouts in! I wholeheartedly agree with your reflection...which is also why I'm struggling a bit with the diet. I want to make healthy eating a lifetime habit. And although my vision of clean eating will certainly produce great results over these 16 weeks, it's higher in complex carbs and fruit, not so protein extreme as a lot of diets I've been reading in these logs. I know really cutting the carbs and calories will drop the pounds quick, but, like you, I'm in this for life. So like yesterday, anytime I feel myself getting a little clausterphobic and obsessed about the diet I need to take a step back and ask myself if this is what I envision for the long haul.

I know if I'm too strict, there is the possibility for a backslide. I've read Tosca's page in Oxygen and I get her Clean Eating magazine--it's great! The magazine lists 2 weeks of menus with complete calorie/macro breakdowns.

As for the diet, Tosca Reno's Clean Eating is a nice lifestyle diet to use. I, personally, like The Zone diet by Dr. Spears the best, however. The only issue I have with the Zone is his recommendation for what I consider to be very low calories. It just doesn't work for a really active person.

I've been up and down this past week (I stirred up my sciatica once again and had to go easy until I could tolerate it but I am here. ~_~
Caloric intake is also something that confuses me at times. I understand the expend more, consume less but when you are training hard, doesn't it have an adverse effect? *sigh* I have SO many things to learn...so many things to learn.

Hi Nena!!! :)
Morning StlBarbie! How have your workouts been coming along?

How are you doing with this midwest heat?

OMG! This 100 degree heat has been stifling. I can't run outdoors in that which sucks because I invested in a weighted vest (20lbs. to begin and then perhaps later as I get stronger, 40lbs.)

How are you Nena? :)
I'm feeling much better. My sciatic nerve is still very touchy but I'm coping. :) How are you?

Looking forward to an update!
Update coming soon. :)

GOOD MORNING! It has been roughly a week since I've posted anything. Here's the good, the bad, and the ugly in a nutshell (for now):

THE GOOD

1. I have FINALLY discovered a way to do actual sit-ups that don't hurt my lower back (remember I have sciatica and because my lower abs are weak, certain exercises really strain my lower core region). Needless to say, after performing them I was SOAR the next day and felt like WOW, so THIS is what it feels like to truly work the ENTIRE CORE. I am proud of that.

2. I purchased two significant books on nutrition and health which are CHANGING MY LIFE! Tosca Renos, "Eat Clean Diet Recharged!" and T. Colin Campbell's, The China Study. All I can say is, I'll NEVER look at food the same way again.

3. I've increased my plank time to 2 minutes 30 seconds (WOO HOO)

4. My clothes are fitting a tad more loosely in my waist and thigh areas (OMG how awesome is THAT!)

5. I'm at 32 boy PUSH-UPS! (YEAH BABY)

6. I'm back on track this week (WEEK4) and will have updates really soon!

The BAD

1. I REALLY need to work on my lower abs. They are very weak.

2. My work schedule was hideous over the past week which really limited my workouts.

The UGLY

1. My diet was not the best this past week (but it wasn't the worst it could have been either, thank goodness).

I've got some old school Metallica, Aerosmith, new school Stemm, and in between Puddle of Mud, Daughtry, Stone Temple Pilots, downloaded on my iPOD and I'm ready!

Why are you stressing over situps? I would advise crunches over situps, as situps usually engage your hip flexors far more than your abs. Plus, as you said, situps can hurt your back. Crunches are much more ab-friendly.

Thanks DROOKS10! I suspect it will get longer. I'm attending a local fitness competition show in September which I am really looking forward to because my 16 weeks will end in September so HOPEFULLY I'm looking a bit cut by then. ~_~ I've also been approached about competing in figure competitions. Someone thinks I may be a great fit for it and thinks overall, I would do nicely. I promised I'd think about it since I honestly fell in love with it back in the 80s when I saw Rachel McLish for the first time (WOW!) So we'll see what happens.

I will definitely link to the FB page. Thanks!

I agree completely Simpy. I have a mental complex that tends to nag me to pieces whenever I can't do something because I always feel like I SHOULD be able to do it. I have been doing flutter kicks, butterflies, in/outs, and hanging leg raises in an attempt to strengthen my lower abs. I really believe once I get them where they need to be my back pain will disappear.

SO glad to hear from you Nena!!!! :)

What are your plans for the weekend?

Thanks StlBarbie!!! I'm glad to be back in the zone and running full steam ahead. I am going to stick with crunches. I need to get stronger in those also, particularly my reverse crunches.

OMG, these nutrition books are blowing my mind and not because it's stuff I didn't know already (I am a bookworm and a mental wealth of useless information because of it :) ), but because between the two of them, I have really identified so MANY reasons why I want this (many of which I stated early on when I first began posting). I really do want this to be a way of life and not something that is done in intervals and the recipes in Tosca's book are AMAZING! The top three things I took away from them are:

1. It is NOT an overnight conversion and therefore I MUST be patient with myself and allow myself some room for error or else I will completely blow it.

2. I do not have to follow the recipes provided to the letter (there are many foods I don't eat) and can substitute my veggies or whatever food type is called for. The key is moderation and CONSISTENCY. :)

3. Finally, the road to good health, wellness, and physical fitness is ongoing and NOT a one-time deal.

I'm soooooooooo EXCITED about the possibilities!!!

SUPPLEMENT UPDATE
This week, I will be receiving my Betacene and NO-Beta! I'm looking forward to seeing how they work!

NOTICEABLE CHANGES
My 3-day per week full body workout is far more effective than my splits. I think the main thing missing when I started was adequate rest and recovery in between. Now that I am getting that, I can really tell the difference. Not to mention, it is adding to the time I actually get some ZZZs. My arms are slimming as are my thighs and I can tell my glutes are firming and lifting, too! Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa me. :)

Can't wait until you get the Betacene and NO Beta! Keep up the good work, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Thanks Synapsin! It JUST ARRIVED TODAY! :D I am super excited. I'm new to supplements such as these so I am wondering what the most effective way to use them will be. Any suggestions?

Thanks Drooks! I think having this goal to work towards will really help me focus much better on my nutrition. I work hard at the gym but I want my nutrition to be equally on point as everything else. I AM up to 6 hours of sleep a night now :D which is HUGE for me. We'll see how it goes.

I would die on 6 hours of sleep per night. I can do that every once in a while, but my body shuts down if I don't get at least 7 hours consistently, and I really need the textbook 8 hours/night.

I'm lucky to get 5 hours of sleep each night....I find that if I get more than that, I actually feel sluggish. I guess my body is used to it by now!

6 hours is about perfect for me, any more and I am sluggish and tired all day. But less than 5-6 and I am the same. Everybody is different. My wife needs at least 8 full hours to be refreshed.

Okay, so I've been away for a good while due to me stirring up some old injuries and creating new ones. I had t completely step away and allow my body to fully recover. It was so bad that I could literally hear things popping in my joints and my range of motion was completely shut down on one side. *sigh* That said, I WILL NOT CONCEDE DEFEAT! I'm a fighter and survivor, and I MEAN TO SEE MY FITNESS RESULTS THROUGH! As it were, I've taken proactive steps now and have three workout partners, all of which have been hardcore fitness nuts for more than 5 years now. My schedule is insane and I'm making it work. PICTURES are coming SOON!

THANK YOU StlBarbie!!! I am so HAPPY to be back. I joined a new gym which allows me the flexibility to get into a gym whether I am home, or at work and I KEEP my gym bag with me. On days, I can't go, I walk. ALSO, you will be happy to know that I plan to COMPETE next Spring (GOD willing). I'm totally STOKED about that!!! My workout partners are FABULOUS and their level of discipline and work ethics in the gym...I LOVE! I've missed being here and will definitely be active in the groups!

Great to virtually see you again!!!

Hi StlBarbie! I've been away from the PC but I've been tweaking the workout and diet plan. I am HOPING to enter my FIRST SHOW EVER next Summer! I am a member of two gyms now so no matter where I am, I'm able to get a workout in --- even if it's just a half hour. Also, my meals are going well. This week I'm back to splits (one body part per day) with cardio. ~_~

How are you? How's it going?

What show are you planning on entering?
Is it in Missouri?

Are you still doing the Women's KetoCuts Challenge?

Hi there! there is one show here in April and one in September. I am opting for the one in September but will be attending the one in April to get a feel for how it works and to support my workout partners.

It's always such a SLOW process getting back into a routine but I'm determined. I wanted to post my diet and get some thoughts on it. I'll do that after the gym. I'm contemplating entering the KetoCuts Challenge again but it will be a "challenge" for me as the company I worked for suspended all of its operations INDEFINITELY the week of Christmas. But we shall see. :) I hope you had a great holiday!!!
