This may seem an odd question, but I feel compelled to seek out logical reasoning for my reaction. I am wondering if anyone else feels like they actually have far less energy on those days, known as refeeds to most, where carbs are higher. I find myself feeling drained as opposed to having a surplus of energy. The next day is the same as the rest of the week. I just find it odd that this would occur, I may just be an oddity but I would love to know of any plausible reasons this could occur.

Happens to me sometimes. Could be two things, one being that my body is reacting to the higher calories and carbs in a way that it thinks I've broken this starvation period and two the excess calories are really spiking my metabolism, creating hunger.

I do too... its probably to do with the increase and carbs and insulin causing the rise and fall in glucose levels leaving you tired and usually even hungrier.

Ya I've heard this is actually quite normal for most. The day after is when you should really feel the effects of the refeed. Refeed day itself usually leaves me feeling shot and tired but the next day I feel as if I'm on top of the world!

Funny thing is I am not any hungrier, but thanks

This seems probable, thank you

I do not feel as if I had any sort of carb-up the day before, my refeeds do not seem to carry over to the next day. I feel the same as the rest of the week, but I appreciate the suggestions

Lower carb days feel the same as the rest of them for me. It seems my body just needs to have eaten, regardless of quantity or content.

more carbs allows more serotonin to be released making you more tired, usually the day after youll feel more energized in the gym due to fuller glycogen stores
