Hi All,
I have been slowly moving from being someone who hates exercise, to someone who can tolerate some kinds of exercise, to someone who drags themselves to a gym, and now finally to someone who focuses on making it a daily priority.
I am starting to see some positive changes both mentally and physically, and I am ready to take it to the next level. I am hoping that this contest is the tool that helps me do that.
I'll be taking the Double T supps, working out daily (some days weights, some days yoga), tightening my diet, and posting lots of pics to keep myself accountable.
Day One pics coming this afternoon.

Okay kids, it's not pretty, but here's the goods.
Looking at these pics, I can pretty safely say that I will be picking another venue for my progress pictures.
I forced a friend from work to take these in the weird basement bathrooms at the office. The lighting is very Horror Movie-ish.
Yeah.... blame the lighting.

So, I dragged myself out of bed today at 5am and made it Spin at 6:15. It is going to be my goal during the week to make it to all the 6:15am classes (Spin, Body Pump, Helixing/Core, Boot Camp and Yoga) and then get a 6th workout of a Full Body Circuit that a trainer put together for me in on either Saturday or Sunday.
I know that a lot of people are down on the class environment, but I have a hard time totally pushing myself on my own. I like the group dynamic, and I tend to get great workouts in. I always shoot to use the heaviest weights available, even if it means doing half the reps that the rest of the class is doing. I work full time, and have school at night, so these getting these morning workouts in is clutch for me.
As for the diet portion of this adventure, I personally need to not be fanatical. I have the upmost respect for people who track their food and macros, but that is not something that I have any interest in. I eat probably 80% clean anyway (by the most general definition) but I do like some chocolate, and the occasional glass of vino (or five). Since my schedule it so crammed, and I am going into finals, I absolutely cannot walk around feeling hungry and hostile.
I like good, whole food, and tend to eat on the lower starch/lower fat side of the spectrum. I eat oatmeal and lots of fruit, but other than that tend to be happy sticking to veggies and protein. But I eat a lot. I won’t be tracking my calories (it’s just not for me) but I did a quick guestimate, and I would say that I usually eat between 2000 and 2500 a day. I am going to try to trim a bit off the portions (would rather just add some cardio if need be), but the real changes that I make will be a function of the intensity of my workouts and adding the Double T supps in. I am not looking to live super restrictive. I am looking to get in the best shape possible using methods that are sustainable long term for my lifestyle and happiness quotient.
The supps should be here today, and I’ll post both how they affect my workout performance, and my overall mental health. I am pretty much a supplement virgin, and absolutely cannot tolerate any sort of jitteriness and/or crashing throughout the day. I am little nervous, but everything that I have been reading has been super positive, so I am excited to see how they help.
More to come….

Thanks for the check in and kind words ladies. Healthy people are so nice, its crazy.
I just got my supps in the mail, and I am feeling very official. I want to put on my gym clothes and have some people over just so they can see the bottles lined up on the counter and be impressed with my commitment to fitness. Maybe tomorrow.
I had some tattoo work done at the end of last week and my shoulder has been KILLING me. I always prided myself on being somewhat of a bad ass chick, but I have been whining like a baby all week. I have still managed to get into the gym, but I have only been able to do cardio (elliptical, treadmill, etc) because I just cannot move my shoulder. The good news is that the past two days I forced myself to run on the treadmill to shake up my system a bit. I HATE to run. I would rather do 90min at 15/10 on the elliptical than run for 15 min at 6.0. But I did it. I did intervals both yesterday and today at lunch, and was sweating like a hostage, so it must have done something.
Tomorrow morning I will start with the Creadyl, No Beta and Keto Cuts. Since this is my first time using them, I will start out with the lower end of recommended dosage. It's great day for a little boost, because I will be taking a Boot Camp class at 6:15 that is ridiculously hard (I puked in a garbage can a few weeks ago), and then am going back at lunchtime with a coworker that I have been harassing into joining the gym for a 30 min Helixing class. I also have Structures class tomorrow after work (from 7-10pm). Needless to say, high energy levels and alertness will be super important.
My diet has been good. I always ate a lot, but since I have been hitting the gym with consistency, I am a monster. I just try to keep the quality of food as good as possible, and the fats low. I am definitely craving more carbs lately, and have been eating oatmeal with PP two or three times a day.
I know that is is a bit unorthodox from what a lot of the ladies seem to be doing on here, but I had one dude at the gym, and three coworkers mention that I looked fit/thinner this week, so I am not going to obsess about it too much at this point.
A full report to follow tomorrow.

Here is a rundown of a typical busy day (gym, work, school),with the Double T supplements.
SUPPLEMENTS
The alarm goes off at 5am.
Usually, I pound a cup of iced coffee (that I make the night before and put next to the bed) and then hit the snooze. By the time the alarm goes off again, the caffeine has hit my system, and I am able to drag myself out of bed. I scarf down some oatmeal and PP powder within 5 minutes of being vertical (I am sure that it won't come as a shocker to anyone that I wake up STARVING) and I'm out the door.
Since the labels say to take the Double T supps on an empty stomach, I really had to amend my routine.
This morning I dragged myself up without any assistance, psyched to start the supplements and get in a weighted workout after almost a week of just cardio. First, I want to say how hard it was not to eat. I want to make sure that I am getting the most out of the program, so I will honor Double T's intent... but I am not happy about it.
I took one of the Keto Cuts, three of the No Beta, and one scoop of the Creadyl in a glass of water. This is the minimum recommended dosage for all three products. The pills were fine, but I had some trouble getting the Creadyl down. The taste was okay, but I just had a hard time pounding it. If I had my open mouth water bottle, I would have just brought it along and sipped it on the ride in, but the scoop is too wide to put the powder in a regular water bottle (note to Double T product designers/manufactures), so I had to kill the glass before I left the house, and it wasn't easy. To be honest, I didn't feel very good after putting all that stuff in me on an empty stomach. I kept burping up the Creadyl on the ride in, and def felt a little nauseous. I am not sure how much of it was the supplements, or just the fact that I didn't eat anything. I HATE TO NOT EAT.
And onto class...
WORKOUT PERFORMANCE
The whole function of my Thursday morning Boot Camp class is pretty much to kick your ass until you puke, so I was a little unsure about going in already feeling queasy. I was also all hot and tingly from the Creadyl (not a bad feeling), but unnerving combined with the nausea.
I shouldn't have worried, because as soon as I got moving, I felt great. There are not enough words to describe how horribly abusive this class is by rule. I am talking weighed squat jumps, and mountain climbers, and push-ups till exhaustion, wash, rinse, repeat... and then do it again. The teacher is a huge, young guy who looks like he would have retard strength, but not agility, and he nails every single thing that he asks you to do. It makes it very hard to complain, and super embarrassing when you can't do something.
All that I can say, is that I felt really good. Normally I am lying on the floor in a heap when the class is over, but I totally could have done more. And with no food. Who knew?
I had plans to go back to the gym at lunch with a friend from work that I am trying to get to join. I took one more Keto Cut, and 3 more No Beta's half an hour before I left. I banged out 45 min on the Elliptical like it was nothing (high incline, high intensity intervals... sweating like crazy). That is no real feat in itself, but I had just finished the killer class not 5 hours earlier and still felt great.
DIET
As I have stated before, I am not going to get too hung up on diet. I love to eat, and don't want to stop. Just for S and G's, here is what I ate today. It was fairly typical.
(I must note the absence of my regular early morning meal due to need to take supps on an empty stomach. I usually have a big bowl of oatmeal with a scoop of PP, natty PB and a little skim milk. I also usually have a coffee with one Splenda and skim right out of the gate. I didn't like skipping it, but I am going to try to keep it up in the spirit of following the Double T directions.)
8am- Big bowl of oatmeal, scoop of PP, peanut butter, skim milk. 500-600 cals
10:30- coffee with skim milk and SF hot cocoa. I didn't feel like I needed the caffeine, but I love the taste, and need an excuse to get up and walk away from my computer. I probably could have rocked the decaf, but that just seems stupid. 100 cals
1:15- Big bowl of stir fry with olive oil, 1.5 chix breasts, tons of veggies, teriyaki sauce, and a bag of Shirataki noodles (these are the one single dietary 'change' that I have made. I add them to almost all of my savory meals to add bulk that I would normally get from brown rice or more meat). Again, probably between 500-600 cals.
3:00- Bag of Peanut M&Ms. (Don't give me the side eye, I would die without them) 250 cals.
5:00- Another bowl of oatmeal. This time no PP, but with a banana, apple, skim and PB. 400-500 cals.
9:30- A couple of chicken breasts with some broccoli and bbq sauce, and a handful of Hershey Kisses (don't judge me). 500-600 cals.
And there you have it. Totals are between 2000-2500. I am pretty sure that I would kill a man with anything less.
All in all, I feel really great. I sat through a two hour Final Structures review from 7-9pm, and felt totally alert (and not in a shaky or wired way). I am ready to do it all again tomorrow. Does anybody have any input on the nausea. Tips and tricks? Or should I just give my body a chance to get used to it?
All input is totally appreciated.
-Sarah

You can eat when you get up, or at least take the shake. That small amount of food shouldn't make a difference, and it may limit the heat and nausea a bit. I have found that I cannot take the supplements on a truly empty stomach.

I am in the last few weeks of classes, have a ton of schoolwork still to do, and a huge deadline at work. I know that there is an end in sight, but I am struggling to stay positive.
I was up late last night building a model (Architecture school), got up at the crack of dawn to finish it, and be at Studio by 10am. I took a Keto Cut and 3 No Betas when I first woke up (5am) and then again half an hour before I went to the gym (12:30). I was tired, and didn't eat enough this morning, so I was hungry and dragging ass going into the gym. I left the water bottle with the Creadyl in it on the counter at home, and really think that I could have used it.
I promised myself that I would just do 30min of cardio and the upper body portion of my FB Circuit and call it a day. Bare minimum.
Today was really the first day that I was just hating cardio. Normally I can get a trashy magazine, put on a show, and get into the zone or 45-60min... but I just could't find it today. All that I could think about was how hungry that I was (I know, it is a sickness) even though I had a full breakfast, and a shake at 11ish. In retrospect, I should have just stopped and grabbed some lunch before the gym so I could have focused more on the workout.
It took everything in me to walk past the locker room after cardio and into the weight room.
But I sure am glad that I did. I did a blanket add to all of the weighted exercises just to see where I was at, and busted out all my reps with no problem. I did 3 x 15 reps and felt strong and in control. There is not doubt that I could not have done it without the supps.
Here is what I did today. Everything with the exception of the 21's and Front Raises is at least a 5lb, if not 10lb increase.
Seated Row - 50lbs
Lat Pull Down - 40lbs
Hyperextenstion - 15 x 2
21's - 12.5lbs
Reversed Seated Overhead Press - 30lbs
Front Raise - 10lbs
Rows - 20 lbs
I banged this all out in half an hour, and if I wasn't so GD hungry, would have just finished the circuit. It was a good note to self, to either get my workout done first thing in the am, or to properly fuel myself before I go in. Now I know.
After that, I showered, went to the office, and tore through my desk food (all of you office people know the drawer that I am talking about). I killed a huge bowl of oatmeal with blueberries and peanut butter.... was still hungry.... so I had a big bowl of Cheerios with skim and banana.... was still hungry.... so had another bowl of Cheerios. It was too much food to have at once, and definitely more starchy carbs than I usually have all day. But I was starving, and don't feel overfull, so that must mean something.
On a side note, I shimmied into a pair of jeans that haven't fit me since I moved to the city (4 years ago), so something must be working. I have a long night of school work ahead of me. I am shooting for yoga tomorrow at 10am, and will weigh myself and take some pics to keep me on point.

Off to the gym. Here are a few pics to keep me honest. These pics feel so wimpy compared to some of the awesome images on this site, but I have to remind myself that I am a work in progress. While there aren't any muscles bulging through, I do feel like the 'excess' body fat on my arms and shoulders is minimal (ignoring the lower back fat for a moment).
There was a time when I would have been fine with where things are now, but I really have the desire to take it to the next level.

Long Monday. I worked late last night finishing a big project for school, and couldn't get up for the gym before work. I didn't cook and bring good food today, so I gave into Monday Morning Muffins, going out to lunch, and then some cookies in the afternoon because my energy and blood sugar was all over the place.
I feel so much better when I get my workout in early, and commit to eating right. I am going to use the momentum from how tired and crappy I feel right now to tighten my regime up.
I did just get out for 90 min of a walk/jog, so at least the day isn't a total bust.
I have been thinking a lot about how since I am making the commitment to hitting the gym daily, spent the money on the supps, and am taking the time to post here daily, that I should probably focus a bit on my diet. There is not doubt that my body is changing with all of the exercise, but I know the results could be so much more with some emphasis on streamlining what I put in my mouth.
Just because I tend to eat good food, doesn't mean that I can't do better. And I probably don't need to be taking in the same amount of calories as a 250lb dude. So, for the next few weeks (till my one month progress pics) I am going to cut out sugar (bye, bye peanut M&Ms) and starchy carbs, try to keep my cals under 2000, and see how I feel.
I'll continue to go heavy on protein, veggies, lowfat dairy, fruits and healthy fats (EVOO and PB). I am also hoping that regulating my diet a bit will help to keep my energy level for the last few weeks of school.
I have my No Beta, Keto Cuts and Creadyl all laid out for tomorrow morning, and am psyched to hulk out at Body Pump. I'll also keep track of food for tomorrow and post it to keep myself dialed in and open for comments.
Later gators.

Don't stress. Everyone has bad days when they diet. The key is to not allow one bad moment turn into a free for all, which is often what happens. The mentality of, "Oh, I already blew so I might as well eat . . . " takes over. Just start fresh and get back to it, which is exactly what it sounds like you've planned to do.

Simp and Lo, Thanks for the comments. Having two people who clearly know their stuff chime in, is a great motivator. Good vibes to you.
Today-
5:15am- 3 No Betas, 2 Keto Cuts, 1 Scoop PP with 1 scoop Creadyl (I have found that adding the PP keeps the nausea of supps on a totally empty stomach at bay). 200 cals
6:15- Body Pump Class. This class is my least favorite workout of the week. The routine, although thorough, always feels sort of souless... and the teacher is way too peppy for this gal to handle first thing in the morning. But beyond the mental annoyances, it was a great workout. I continue to add weight every week, lift as heavy as I possibly can, and work to failure. This usually means that I am off tempo, and probably doing 20-30% less reps than the rest of the class. But that's okay. I have never felt the pressure to do what all the other kids were doing.
7:45- 2tb natty PB, greek yogurt, tea with skim and splenda. I'm not going to lie, I did miss my big ass bowl of oatmeal, but I am committed to getting results. Blah.... 400 cals.
10:45- coffee with skim and splenda. 50 cals
Noon: Large Salad from Souper Salad, (all veggies, sliced turkey, and FF dressing) with a small side of fruit. Prob 600 cals
2:30 pm- Since I knew today was going to be a long one with work and school and then homework, I waited to take the second half of my supps till this afternoon. 3 No Betas, 1 Keto Cut.
4pm- 2 Apples. 200 cals
6:15- Container of FF Cottage Cheese with Spinach, and a protein shake (I know that this is a ghetto dinner, but I am back at the office to get some school work done, and it is the only non-candy desk food that I have). 500 cals
Totals for the day = 1750 cals
So, by limiting the content and quantity of my food, I do see the difference between what is actually ‘hunger’, and what is a psychological break from work and my desk.
I have been struggling lately with my job, and am rapidly coming to the realization that that where I am probably just isn’t the best fit for me personally. It is a fairly low energy environment, and most of the people around me are pretty unhappy. I know that we are in a recession, and understand the whole ‘happy to have a job’ thing. I just think that if you are going to commit 40 (or 50) hours a week of your life to something, you should be jazzed about it.
I think because I am not feeling especially creatively stimulated, I do seek out little crutches to get through. For example, when I am drafting all day (architecture), I listen to music, and really rely on it to elevate my mood. Getting up and eating is another way to break up the monotony of 9 hours a desk. I just need to admit that it isn’t my stomach growling, as much as boredom/my frenetic energy needing an outlet.
Okay, enough dime store psychology for one day, I have an evening of schoolwork ahead of me, and am loaded with Diet Cokes and Green Teas... Who needs Peanut M&Ms?

My supplements are on. I had a great workout this morning (60 min elliptical intervals). I felt energized and strong.
Other than a Red Velvet Cupcake that a coworker FORCED me to eat, my diet was on point.
PP with Creadyl- 200 cals
coffee with skim and splenda- 50 cals
banana, apple, pb- 400 cals
6 eggies with veggies and ff dressing- 500 cals
banana, apple, coffee with skim and splenda- 250 cals
peanut butter with greek yogurt- 200 cals
I still probably rolled in under 2000 cals.

I realized, I never told you how to embed your pics. First, I'm pretty sure you need to have 30 or so posts before they'll let you do it, but I could be way off base on that one.
To embed, you'll need to have your pic saved somewhere online (facebook, photobucket, etc.). On most of the photo sites, you can just click the web address of the picture, but if it's on facebook or another site, you'll need to right click and copy the address of the picture. Then put it on here as:
paste your picture's web address here
Simple as that.
Also, I have a PM to send you way. In the mean time, I'd be interested in seeing a laid out plan of your lifting and cardio for the next few weeks.

Just finished my final presentation for school, with one more to go. I know the diet could be better, but my days have been so long, that I have just been focusing on just not housing a steak and cheese to get me through the 20th hour of being awake.
I will have a little respite this weekend, and plan to grocery shop, cook, and plan some menus for the week.
Simp,
I'll also put down what my workouts are/have been, but I am def in the market for mixing it up for the next stage. I am feeling really good, but know that a more regimented lifting routine will ramp up the results. I am absolutely making changes from just exercising every day, but I would like to have something that is a little more linear for tracking purposes.

I COMPLETELY know what you mean about the job situation. I feel the exact same way and it seems like each day it gets harder and harder to be appreciative of the job I have in light of all those who are far less fortunate as I am. I absolutely agree that spending 40-50 hours a week doing something you don't love or maybe slightly care about is a waste of a lot of time in ones lifetime.
Are there things that you are interested in that you could pursue on the side? I know time is always a constraint for almost everyone, but I personally am insistent to make time to pursue other avenues.

Thanks for all the support and good advice.
Lady Luck,
Welcome. I hope all of those x's mean that your are naughty (which I think is a highly underrated trait, and guarantees that we will be friends).
So, after I posted last night, a few friends sent me a text that they were in the city, and to come out and meet them. Normally I would never do go out late like that (once my bra is off, it's off) but I was so keyed up and feeling sorry for myself after work and school that I put on a little deodorant and ran out the door.
These guys are restaurant owners and really know how to live it up. They are opening a new place, and came up to celebrate. I had the best of intentions (and even sipped a diet coke to start) but eventually gave into the celebration and had a few cocktails then and a huge, rich, unbelievably good meal around midnight (2000 cals.... at least... on top of a full day of food).
I have just been feeling so fun deprived lately, that I felt like I owed it to myself. It was a tremendous splurge (the owner of the place we went to, we knew from back in the day and he pretty much just sent out one of everything on the menu). It just felt so good to be social and not feel like I was limiting myself.
I was pretty tired this morning (and still full) but I am chalking it up as my end of the semester celebration and moving on.
I didn't make it to the gym today, but I didn't take a day off this week so I am okay with that. I'll just be sure to crush it tomorrow... maybe add in a little extra cardio to balance things out.
Since I didn't work out, I skipped the Creadyl and No Beta, but still took my Keto Cuts first thing in the morning, and before lunch.
My diet was on:
8am- coffee with skim and splenda, greek yogurt with pp and pb- 500 cals
10am- apple- 100 cals
12:30- Big salad with tons of veggies, tofu, turkey and ff dress- 600 cals
3pm- apple, tea with skim and splenda- 150 cals
6:15- slice of meatloaf with a side of miso soup (weird, but I was craving both)- prob 600 cals.
In just under 2000 and feeling good.
I also just placed a big Peapod delivery and loaded up on all sorts of healthy goodness. Now that school is done, I will have much more time to plan and cook my meals, and hopefully get some additional evening exercise in (I am still going to focus on getting in there every morning).
Now that school is over, getting in shape (and the diet and exercise associated with it) is going to the top of the priority list.
Pics and my workout plan for the week to follow in the morning. I go nite, nite.

I totally wrote a long, brilliant, thoughtful post about my new schedule and workout plan, then tried to upload my pics... it was taking forever... and then somehow it all 'time out'. Agghhhh...
Check out my BodySpace for today's pics. I'll try to recreate my literary gold later tonight and give posting the pictures here another go.

This site is so frustrating sometimes. You'd think that a forum with this much activity and a generator of so much revenue would be fixed to not break down every, flippin day. (Uh, no. I'm not frustrated at all. Really, I'm not. Okay, so maybe just a little.)

All right Playas, I'm back in full effect.
I have been dealing with a personal tsunami of work deadlines, end of semester school stuff, having the tenant from my condo on the Cape go AWOL (without paying rent), and most disturbingly... the discovery of a cankle. That's right, not two cankles for symmetry, just one. The right one.
So, I have pretty much just been holed up in my apartment, paralyzed by financial and life stress, rocking in a corner, saying “I don’t know what to do, I don’t know what to do” over and over again and pulling my hairs out one by one. I have also been compulsively organizing things that are already pretty organized, and have taken up the very attractive habit of chewing on my bottom lip like it is a large gummi peach (which are delicious by the way).
I am thankfully coming out of it. In life there are things that you can control, and things that you can't control... and lately I just feel like one list is way F-ing longer than the other. But that is okay. All I can do is find one action every day to do that makes things better and not worse.
My action for this week is to get a second job. At least until this mess gets sorted out with my property on the Cape, I pretty much need to double my salary to maintain both places. In an attempt to not have my mortgage default, I got a 'summer job' working three nights a week after work at a funky local bar/restaurant. I spent all my teen and young adult years in the restaurant biz, so while it is sort of in my blood, it has been a good 6 or 7 years since I did it. I ran over there after the office for my first night, and it was totally trial by fire. There was only one other person on, and we were slammed, so I pretty much just ran my ass off for 5 hours... which was great.
Looking at the bright side of this situation, I know that a big part of the 10-15lbs that I have put on has to do with my total sedentary lifestyle. I mean, you can crush it at the gym for 90min every day, but you can't tell me that sitting on your ass/lying down for the other 22.5 hours of our existence is how humans are supposed live.
Speaking of crushing it at the gym... I totally have not been doing that. I have dragged myself in for a few lackluster workouts that somehow make me feel worse than if I hadn't worked out at all. Since I haven't been getting up and following a gym schedule these past few days, I haven't been taking the supplements that give me that extra 'oomph'... and the vicious cycle persists.
I have though, pretty much been killing the low carb/starch thing (although not necessarily low cal- still 2000-2200ish). I can pretty happily subsist on large amount of eggs, lean meats, veggies, PB, EVOO, PP and some fruit. I did have a few mini candy bars and a Tootsie Pop today, but for the most part I am totally fine with keeping the diet restricted. And as much as I hate to admit it, I do feel much tighter overall.
So, back to the workouts. I can pretty easily drag myself to the gym everyday, and I love my classes and tend to get a great workout from them... but I know that I need a lifting routine if I am ever going to really make any gains. I have a Full Body Circuit that a trainer put together for me... and it is alright... but it has too many exercises, and I get super bored, and just end up staring at myself in the mirror and making Zoolander faces.
I have done some research regarding a good, simple three day split, and there is just so much info out there that I get overwhelmed, and go color code the books on my shelves till my mind gets quiet again.
So, this is my task to all you wonderful fit people who have chosen to do a good deed and support me in this weirdo thing that I am trying...
Just tell me what to do. Send me a link, or an Excel chart, or a copy of an article, and I'll do it. I don't have the energy to weigh the pro's and con's or try to understand the science of muscles and how they grow. I need someone to boss me around and point me in the right direction. First one in with a suggestion, gets the honor of a shout out when I win this contest and accept my trophy (wait, there is a trophy, right?).
I generally hate to ask for help, but I know my limits, and right now I just need a little direction. I won't talk back, I promise.

First off life is not giving you a break I totally know where your coming from I dont miss the days of going to college and working and doing all your extracurriculars. But even though I hated that schedule Im going back to school eventually.
One thing I like about working at a restaurant (my second job too!) is yea were not sitting on our asses were busting them back and forth back and forth as our customers slaves, love it!
Interesting that you organize when you stressed, I REALLLLLY wish I did that, when im super stressed I tend to sit around lol real productive.
But no worries, you will find another tenant, im sure of it!
Ps Thanks for being honest, at least you have the balls to say i need to stop messing around at the gym, staring at myslef in the mirror making zoolander faces! No gasoline fights either!

Okay Kids, I was up and at em’ this morning excited to seize the day and all that junk.
5am- Up, immediately took two Keto Cuts and 4 No Betas. This combo def gets me going, and I have no adverse reactions whatsoever. I made a shake with one scoop PP and one scoop Creadyl and sipped it on the way to the gym. As I have said before, mixing the Creadly with the PP makes it easier for me to get it down on an empty stomach. 200 cals
6:15- Rev It Up Circuit class. This is the class that is both so good and yet so horrible. It is really gaining popularity, and attendance has doubled in the past month or so. This means that weights get snatched up quick, so I did the whole class with two 15lb-ers. Jump squats, frog jumps with weights to the chest, scissor lunges… the whole mess. I usually try to at least but the 12.5, but I was really feeling the difference. I was sweating like crazy and went to failure with pretty much every exercise.
8am- At the office. PB, PP, Greek Yogurt and a coffee with skim and Splenda. 500 cals
10:30- PB, PP, Greek Yogurt. 400 cals
12:30- Chicken Breast with Brussel Sprouts and Honey Mustard- 450 cals
5:30- PB, PP, Greek Yogurt, Iced Coffee with Skim and Splenda, 2 Blow Pops. 500 cals. I know that this isn't an ideal dinner, but I have to run from work to class for my Structures Final, and it was either this or a hot fudge sundae en route.
Totals for the Day- 2050 cals
Spin tomorrow evening with my friend from work.
My sick new 3 Day Split courteousy of DRooks starts on Saturday am (as soon as I Google some of these exercises.)
So happy and appreciative to have a little direction in this crazy world...

Chicken Breast with Green Beans- 500 cals
pm- 2 Keto Cuts, 3 No Betas (forgot my pre-workout Creadly at home…grrrrrr)
5:30- Spin Class- Crushed it. I felt awesome. High energy, strong, and alert. Could have gone for another hour (well... maybe not a whole another hour).
8pm- Garden Salad with vinagrette (while everybody else was drinking beers and eating burgers, so these calories shouldn't even count). 250 cals
Total Cals for the the day- 2150

This morning was the first day of the rest of my life.
Okay, that may be a little dramatic... but grand declarations usually get people's attention.
Today I started the 3 day split that David (DRooks) took the time to put together for me. That fact that the is a total stranger who put aside time from his life to answer a random chick's request on some message board someplace only confirms how freakishly friendly and nice healthy people are. And for that I am grateful.
(Sidebar-
David,
I also took the time to read through your transformation log last night, and I am actually glad that I didn't do it before. Considering that pretty much every comment is in relation to how insane your workouts are, and you are smiling like a maniac in every picture, I probably would have been scared off/alerted the authorities. But I digress...)
Anywho... up at 7:30, 2 Keto Cuts, 4 No Betas, shake with PP and Creadyl on the way to the gym.
Today was Chest/Biceps/Triceps... and it went a little something like this:
Flat Bench Dumbbell Press 4 sets of 10-12 reps:
I did 4 sets of 10 with 15lb weights. This felt totally manageable, and I think I will have no problem going up for next week.
Incline Bench Dumbbell Press 4 sets of 10-12 reps:
Again, I did 4 sets of 10 with 15lb weights. These were a little harder... but I got through them. Either way, the '40th' was really tough, and my left arm is way more wonky than my right.
Incline Dumbbell Flyes 3 sets of 10-12 reps:
These were MUCH harder. I started with the 15's, dropped to the 12.5's and finally finished 3 set of 10 with the 10lb dumbbells. I think it had a much to do with the awkwardness of the motion (I am pretty sure that I never have done that action in real life) as it did with the weights. Either way, this is the only exercise that I did today that I think that I will stay with the same weight for next time. I just didn't feel 'right' in my movements.
Pushups 1 set to failure:
Pushups are the bane of my existence. I did 8 sort of halfises before my left shoulder gave out and I faceplanted. I am sure that a portion of this is psychological and I just need to get over it... at least they weren't on my knees.
Barbell Curls 2 sets of 8-10 reps:
I like these. I did 40lbs x 8 x 2. The last few were tough, but manageable. I don't think that I will have any problem going up in weight next week. My only question here, was that I did it with the straight bar rather than the one with the jags for your hand grips (which is what everybody was using when I Googled this exercise). Does it matter?
Incline Dumbbell Curls 2 sets of 8-10 reps:
I used 17.5's and did two set of 8. These were surprisingly hard for me... not sure if it was the weight or action.
Triceps Pressdowns 2 sets of 8-10 reps:
40 x 10 x 2. Manageable.
Lying Dumbbell Extensions 2 sets of 8-10 reps:
2 sets of 10 with 25lbs. This was weird, but okay.
And.... discuss.
drooks10
05-15-2010, 09:39 AM
That looks like an awesome workout! Where did you get it? Wait......Haha! Glad you survived day 1. Only 2 more workout days to go!
I use a straight bar to do barbell curls, but you can use a different bar if you want to experiment.
Good luck!

05-15-2010, 11:52 AM
Honestly... I felt really good. My arms and chest were fatigued at the end of the circuit, (and are pretty much are getting more so as the day goes on) but not in a bad way. I never felt bored during the workout (which was about 40 min total). I was totally focused and energetic. I think the combination of getting the timing of the supplements down, combined with knowing that I was going to have to report back here, really kept me honest.
I just went to lunch in the the North End (Boston's Little Italy) and ate all yummy meats and veggies (and a very small gelato).
Feeling good...

After a totally lovely Sunday of brunch (very healthy, but lots of it) and a book swap with friends (very dorky, I know) I felt really good going into the week. I know that this is third week of the transformation, and I have some 1 month progress photos looming ahead of me.
I slept in this morning, and was running a little behind, so I missed breakfast.
8am- 2 Keto Cuts
9am- coffee with skim and splenda (50 cals)
Noon- big salad with veggies, turkey and light dressing, with a side of fruit and cottage cheese. 600 cals
1:30- PB with PP, coffee with skim and splenda. 300 cals.
4:30- PB with Yogurt. 400 cals
5pm- 2 Keto Cuts, 3 No Betas
6pm- DRooks Legs and Abs:
Barbell Squats 4 sets of 10-12 reps:
I did 4 x 12 x 40lbs. I focused on doing a 'full' squat, because that was what all of the sites said to be sure to do when I Googled it to find out the tectonics. These felt good, and I think that I'll have no problem going up next time.
Lying Leg Press 3 sets of 10-12 reps:
I had to use a regular Leg Press for these, because the Lying Leg Press was occupied by a training group. I did 3 x 10 x 200, and was definitely feeling it at the end. But I think that I can squeeze some more weight in there.
Dumbbell Lunges 3 sets of 8 reps (each leg):
I did 3 x 8 each leg alternating with 17.5lbs in each hand. These were manageable, but I was shaking by the end. I may do the 17.5's on more day just to be sure that my form is perfect before I go up.
Leg Extensions 2 sets of 12-15 reps:
2 x 15 x 60lbs. The last few of these were really tough (as in I didn't do them). I'll def stay at 60lbs for next week.
Lying Leg Curls 2 sets of 12-15 reps:
My gym doesn't have a Lying Leg Curl machine, so I used the Seated Leg Curl Machine. I did 3 x 15 x 60 and will have no problem going up next week.
Seated Calf Raises 3 sets of 15:
I did 3 x 15 x 25lbs. These were okay, but KNOW that I will be feeling them tomorrow (and the day after that).
Hanging (or assisted) Leg Raises 3 sets of 15 reps:
I did 2 sets of 15 hanging. These sucked (as I know that they are supposed to). I was swinging all over the place, and it was making me crazy. I skipped the last set more because I was frustrated than because my abbies hurt (although they did).
Lying Leg Raises 3 sets of 15 reps:
3 x 15. No problemo.
Decline Bench Abs 3 sets of 15 reps:
These sucked (as I know that they are supposed to). My form was def off on the last few... but I did em.
7:30- 2 chicken breasts with lf thousand island and a PP shake. 600 cals
Total cals for the day: 1950
My legs are jelley, and I feel tired and great. I love going into the gym with a plan, and having to come back here to be accountable.

Couldn't sleep last night because I had and interview today for a new job (see past documentation regarding professional unrest of late). Finally fell asleep 4am-ish.
7am- Tired. Leggies sore. 2 Keto Cuts. Dragged ass out the door.
9am- pb, cottage cheese with fruit, coffee with skim and splenda. 500 cals. Still hungry.
11am- pp with pb and skim. 400 cals. Still hungry.
Noon- Interview. I interviewed with three different people (2 mangers of my position, and then their manager). They all went well. They were all pretty happy long term employees who were happy to talk both about the position and how you can learn and move around within the company.
At the end, I asked, and they said that I was one of three prospects, but that one was someone who had worked there before, been laid off, and was up for rehire. So, even though it went really well, I wasn't sure if that person would have an edge by default. The big boss said that they had to all get together and discuss (the interviews were separate) and that she hoped to make a decision by the end of the week. She said they would probably have me back for another round of interviews before they made a final decision.
1:30- spinach with chicken breast and lf thousand island. 500 cals. Still hungry.
3pm- blow pop. Leggies sore. 50 cals. The company called and made me a formal offer... nice.
4pm- chicken with spinach. 300 cals. Still hungry.
4:15- yogurt with pb and pp. 400 cals
6:30- Spin class. So here is my questionable logic on this one. My legs are tightening up by the minute, and I know that I am going to be Gimpy McGimpster tomorrow... but I'm not quite there yet. So I thought that I would try to get a quick leg/cardio run in. Pretty much every minute of it sucked, but I am glad that I did it.
Weighed myself. Lost 3lbs... unbelievable.
8:30- Big bowl of steamed spinach with soy sauce and ketchup. 300 cals. Still hungry.
Total cals- 2450
All in all, it was a pretty good day. Still hungry.

Simp,
I could not be more surprised about the pm weight loss myself. I don't think that I have been on a scale past 6am since I was 10 years old. I was so shocked that I weighed myself on the scale on the locker room, didn't believe it, and then went and weighed myself on the scale in the trainer's room (where I last weighed myself at 150lbs).
As for the job, they called back, met my salary request, and it is a done deal. I gave my 2 weeks notice, dealt with the combination of genuine well-wishers and various passive aggressiveness, and could not be happier.
For food today:
7am- 2 KC
8:30- 2 apples, PB with PP. 500 cals
10am- apple, coffee with Splenda and skim. 150 cals
Noon- 2 KC, Chicken with Spinach and honey mustard. 500 cals
2:30- Apple with PB, coffee with Splenda and skim. 350 cals
so far.
I think that I am going to take today off from the gym since I can barely walk, and tomorrow morning is my killer Boot Camp class (which I would actually like to participate in).
I am going to go home do some laundry, watch a movie, and make sweet love to the couch.
Ahhhh....

Hi All,
Here are the past few days:
Thursday
I COULD NOT get out of bed for my favorite Boot Camp class. I was tired as a mofo, and knew that I could get to the gym after work, so it made it easy to hit that snooze. Plus, I knew that I had the third workout of the split to get in.

10am- Coffee with Splenda and Skim, PP with PB. 350 cals
12:30- 2 pieces of chicken with mixed veg, apple. 700 cals
2:00- Apple, coffee with skim and splenda. 150 cals.
4pm- 2 KCs, 3 No Betas
6pm- I did the third day of my split, and was a little less comfortable than I was with the first two workouts. It didn't help that I went to the gym at prime time, and had to jockey for both weights and floor space. I also couldn't do the exercises 'in order' like DRooks told me to, so my Catholic guilt was kicking in for the entire duration.
Shoulders/Back
Dumbbell Shoulder Press 4 sets of 10-12 reps:
I did 15lbs x 4 x 12 for this one. These were pretty hard towards the end, but I got through them.
Dumbbell Side Raises 3 sets of 8-10 reps:
I left these till the end, and ended up tired and frustrated and skipped them. Weak... I know.
Bent-Over Dumbbell Rear Delt Flyes 3 sets of 8-10 reps:
I did one set of these with 15lbs, and felt all wrong. I wasn't sure if I had the angle at waist right, or the my arm in the correct relationship to my body. It was so crowded, and I felt like dude's were watching me and think "this chick is doing that wrong", so I geeked and skipped the last few sets. I'll ask a trainer to comment on my form next time I'm in the gym, so I can feel more confident next time I do this workout.
Dumbbell Shrugs 3 sets of 15 reps:
3 x 15 x 25lbs. The last few were tough, but otherwise okay.
Lat Pulldowns 4 sets of 10-12 reps:
4 x 10 x 60lbs. These were really hard towards the end, and I know that my form was suffering but I got through them. I will probably stay with 60lbs for next week till I feel like I can nail it.
Seated Rows 3 sets of 8-10 reps:
3 x 10 x 50lbs. These were manageable. I can easily go up next week.
1-Arm Dumbbell Rows 3 sets of 8-10 reps:
3 x 8 x 25lbs. Again, pretty manageable. Up for next week.
Back Extensions 3 sets of 10-12 reps:
Easy. I see some people holding a plate to their chest when they do this. Thoughts?
All in all, I really liked this workout. The supplements kicked in at the perfect time, and I felt strong and sharp. I am looking forward to perfecting these exercises and adding some weight.
7:30- Steak with salad, mixed veggies and BBQ sauce- 600 cals
Totals for the day- 2250 cals
Friday
7:00- Big bow of Honey Nut Cheerios with raisins and skim (Spent the night at a friend's house, and this was the best that I could do). 600 cals
12:00- Medium Soft Serve Sundae (Beautiful day, walking through the Boston Common... don't judge me). 600 cals.
2pm- 2 KC, Apple. 100 cals.
4pm- Miso Noodle Soup, pb with pp. 500 cals
5:30- 3 No Betas, Spin Class
7:30- Chicken with Green Beans and lf thousand island. 500 cals
Total Cals- 2300
I have to say, I am feeling pretty good. My 'tight' jeans are not tight, and I am sort of looking forward to my one month progress pics tomorrow (I say that now). Getting this new job (with a big national design/construction firm that has a great reputation for treating their people wonderfully) is a huge weight off my shoulders.
School is out, and I have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I am going to have to pay my rent and mortgage for a few months till I get this tenant out. While it sucks, it is what it is, and I just need to suck it up.
Time to shower and get a little beauty sleep before my photo shoot tomorrow....

This weekend pictures made a few things abundantly clear. While I am making some decent strength, fitness, and tone strides, at the end of the day there is a pretty solid layer of body fat covering up the progress. I know that I need to take my bf down to really see results.
Since it has been pretty clearly established that this gal will never be living on 1400 cals a day, I need to increase my cardio big time. I am going to, in addition to my new three day split, shoot for five 60 min cardio sessions in a week. I imagine that most of these will take the form of a Spin Class (the least boring way to kill a sweaty hour... at the gym at least), but I reserve the right to add some rollerblading and/or the patented Wendorf walk/jog if need be in the evening.
5am- Up, 2 No Betas, Bottle of Creadyl on the way to the gym, (out of Keto Cuts, waiting for re up)
6:15- Spin Class. Crushed it.
8am- Greek Yogurt with PP and PB. 450 cals
12:30- Greek Salad with Chx, Feta, real dressing and an Apple. 800 cals
3pm- Coffee with Splenda and Skim. 50 cals.
4pm- Greek Yogurt, PP, PB and Apple- 500 cals
6pm- 2 Vodka and Sodas- 200 cals
Total Cals for the day- 2000
The only other sort of noteworthy thing on the horizon is the fact that now that I have given my notice at work, I pretty much have lunch and dinner/cocktail plans every day for the next few weeks. While I am feeling very loved, this is not ideal for the old chiggity-challenge. But... I imagine that true success in this sort of thing means not putting yourself on an island, but making changes that can be sustained in real life.
I am going to try to sticking to protein and veggies, keep the cocktails to Ketel One and Sodas, and just try to enjoy the well wishers.

excellent progress keep it up!
dont worry about the dinner/cocktail plans, it can be easy to still eat well even out.. and kettle one and sodas isnt too bad, but ya might be better off with a dry red wine

I totally agree girlfriend, our progress is covered by a lovely smear of adipose tissue!!! Ugh rude. I have been toying with the idea of upping my cardio, reluctantly, not a lover of it. I dont mind spin either I might make it more of a point to get to those classes and OMG rollerblading are you serious, your a genius, where are my rollerblades

Great job on the progress lady!
Increasing cardio is ideal, however keep in mind that when you increase your cardio to that often in one week to drop body fat, it's difficult to maintain that physique if and when you let up on cardio. Diet really is key here and while I agree, 1400 calories can be difficult to manage, so is 5 60 minute sessions of cardio. Unless your schedule and energy allow room for it. As long as you embrace that, you're good to go. Good luck!!!
Simpy
05-25-2010, 05:44 AM
How much cardio are you currently doing? I would suggest cutting the calories to 1800 for a while and see how that goes.
thewendorf
05-25-2010, 06:22 PM
I know that you guys are right about cutting calories. I just hate to eat less than I do now. It's not like I 'can't' do it, I just don't really want to... especially if I can just get up and run/rollerblade/bike for an hour in the morning and have the same effect.
I currently usually do one Spin class a week, and then maybe another lunch time on the Elliptical for an hour. So upping it to five 60 min sessions is a pretty big increase. But at the end of the day, you are right.
Fiiiiiinnnnneeeee. I'll do 1800 calories for one week, and if I don't kill anybody with my bare hands, I will consider keeping it up for the duration.
Starting tomorrow, of course.
Here was today:
Slept in till 7:30 this morning.... heaven.
7:30- Greek Yogurt with PP and banana, coffee with skim and Splenda. 550 cals
9:30- Apple 100 cals
11:30- Banana, PP, PB. 400 cals
Noon- 3 No Betas, Creadyl. Hit the gym today at lunch and ran for 30 min… without stopping… which has happened a grand total of zero times in my life.
I just felt good and didn’t even think about it. This is a huge psychological hurdle for me, and I think will really help in the whole ‘getting extra cardio in’ thing. It was funny, as soon as I looked down and realized that I had done it; I immediately freaked out and stopped. Then I busted a quick 10min on the Elliptical to round out my lunchtime cardio.
1:30- Apple. 100 cals
3:30- Salad with veggies and grilled pork, iced coffee with skim and Splenda. 600 cals
4pm- Candy bar. 250 cals
Totals for the day- 2000 cals
I also just spent 3.5 hours at the hairdresser getting that Brazilian Keratin Treatment done to my hair. I'm not going to lie, it is pretty amazing. I have super curly Rosanna Rosanna Dana hair, and it is pin straight. The only down side is that you can't wash, get wet, sweat, pull back and/or touch your hair for three days... which is pretty nasty.
It also happens to be the muggiest week so far in Boston.
I plan on getting up early tomorrow am and rollerblading the 8 mile loop by my house. I figure that is a solid hour of cardio that I can keep my hair down for, and if I get up early enough, I can beat the heat.
I'll bust my leg day on Thursday (hair down at the gym is a little prissy for me, but it's only one day) and then do Spin Friday night (sweaty mess) and I'll be able to wash my hair after.
Off to plan my starvation diet....

I don't know what the Brazillian Keratin Treatment is. I'll have to Google that.
As for the calories, if you clean up your diet a bit, it won't be hard to get down to 1800 calories a day and still get as much, if not more food. Toss the candbar. Clean up the salad. There you go.

When you're right, you're right.
I had a nightmare last night that I sweated too much in my sleep and ruined the hundreds of dollars I spent on my stupid hair. So, I skipped cardio this morning, just in case. I also had a big lunch meeting today, and thenwork after the office, so a workout today was pretty much out of the question.
I am going to use the no WO constraint to emphasize the importance on diet, and keep my cals in line with my newfound limits.... Grrreaaattt.
7:30- Iced coffee with skim and spenda, 2 bananas mashed with PB. 450 cals
11am- tea with skim and Splenda. 50 cals
Noon- Salad with veggies and real dressing, and side of fruit salad. 400 cals
3pm- Pb with PP, iced coffee with skim and splenda. 450 cals
9:30- Arugula salad with a few walnuts and some Gorgonzla. 450 cals
GRAND TOTAL---- 1800 cals
Boo yah...
Legs tomorrow in the am, and I am getting some progress measurements done on Friday morning by a trainer at the gym, so that should keep me honest.

9:30- coffee with skim and splenda, 50 cals.
Noon- 2 KC, 3 No Betas. 15 min on treadmill, then 20 min on Elliptical at lunch.
I am doing the Great Urban Race on Saturday with one of my ‘Oh, I just banged out a quick half marathon this weekend’ friends. We have a friend who did it last year, and said it was a blast. There is a running portion, a scavenger hunt portion, and a day drinking portion (this being the most appealing part of the day for myself… obviously). In an attempt to not get left behind all of my ridiculously fit friends, I am going to focus on getting some runs/cardio in this week, and not do too much damage to myself.
You have to dress in costume, and our team is ‘GI Janes’. I would rather not disgrace the BDU’s by throwing up after only a mile. I am sure that there will be pictures to follow…
1:15- 4 eggs with veggie scramble, Apple. 600 cals.
2pm- 3 mini candy bars. 150 cals
3:30- PB with PP and Yogurt. 400 cals
6pm- artichoke, mozzarella and tomato plate. 500 cals

5:30pm- Creadyl, Body Pump class... rocked it.
7pm- 2 Chx Breasts with Broccoli. 600 cals.
Total Cals for Day = 2100
I just need to get through the final departure celebrations tomorrow, and it will be much easier to take my cals down.

8pm- PP with PB- 500 cals
Totals for the day= 2500
The race was super fun. You had five hours to do it in, and my partner and I did it is 1hr 46min. We were the first team of women to cross the finish line, but we got a penalty for not having one of our pictures come out (at each point you had to pick up a stamp, or picture, etc to prove that you completed the challenge). Unfortunately the penalty (adding 30 min) kicked us out of the Top 25, but we still got some props from the rest of the teams of guys. I tracked out the route, and it we ended up running at least 5 miles... at noontime... in the hot sun... and traffic.
I am feeling sort of abused this morning, but I bet that has a much to do with the beer consumption than it does the physicality of the race. My partner took pics with her camera and I'll post them as soon as she sends them to me.
Here are some pics from this morning. Considering that I drank my weight in beer yesterday, and my PMS is kicking (along with a slight hangover) I am pretty happy with these. The back shot is especially poor quality (I almost died attempting the 'reverse pic twist on the toilet with a hangover'), but it does show how much less bumpy it is back there.
Today is my halfway point, and I am really starting to see some differences. Which, when you consider that I have pretty been taken out to eat every lunch and dinner for the past two weeks, I am pretty proud of.
I am looking forward to my next set of photos (2 weeks, 2 month contest point). I think that I am going to wear some make up... and maybe heels. Yeah, that's the ticket.

First and foremost, thank you- thank you- thank you for the attention and comments. This is clearly a group of people who know their ****, I totally honor and respect all the advice I have received. I am really starting to see some serious results, and that is largely in part this forum.
...But... (you knew it was coming) I have a question about the reduction of calories advice (and not just because I love to eat). As I am reading other people's journal's, I am seeing a lot of people who are really struggling with their diets (limiting and binging, etc). With everything that I have going on in my life, that sort of cycle is NOT an option for me. I feel as if (with the exception of chocolate and cocktails) my diet is pretty tight at this point. I am getting plenty of protein, fresh produce, lowfat dairy, fiber and good fats. I don't feel restricted, and my mood is good. I feel strong in my workouts, and for the most part have been getting them in every day.
While I am really trying to stick to only weighing myself once a month, I think that it is pretty indisputable (looking at the pictures), that there is some good stuff happening.
So why must I drop the cals? Because the results will be better?
Some of the fittest (and leanest) people that I know (women included) eat huge amounts of good food. Could I not morph into one of these with the continued addition of muscle and cardio intensity? Just curious.
As for today:
5:30- 2 KC, 3 No Betas, Creadyl on the way to the gym for Bodypump.
David, I half killed it today for Bodypump.
By some grace of God, after running 6-7 miles for the race on Saturday (pretty much 6 - 7 times more than I have ever run before in my life) I was able to go out and bang out another 6 mile loop last night. Now granted, I def walked probably half of it... but I also sprinted some intervals. This sort of behavior is totally new territory, and I am super psyched at the turn of events. But... I felt it this morning. My legs were junk right out of bed. Ankles to hips, all the way up. Tired and tight. My low back was feeling it, and my left trap was KILLING me.
I got to the gym and was humming with energy from the supps. For all of the weighted upper body, back and core stuff (using a 40lb bar, min) I was on fire. I just felt totally dialed in. Even when I was heading to failure, I felt strong, and my form was good. When the exercise changed, and everybody took weight off their bars, I either stayed the same or added. This class really got me psyched to see what I can do when I go back to the split (this weekend).
But I just could not make my lower body cooperate. For squats, I went down maybe two inches. Lunges... maybe a millimeter. I never experienced anything like it. I was frozen in discomfort.
So the class was half totally great, and half a complete waste. Ehhh...
7:30- Coffee with sugar and skim, PP with PB, Apple. 600 cals
Noon- Chx with Peas, Apple. 600 cals
2pm- Junior Mints. 220 cals
5pm- Chx with mustard, Apple. 600 cals
6pm- PP with PB. 200 cals

You might want to consider taking a post workout recovery suppc of some sort. I am finishing up my Scivation Extend, and then prob switching to Double-T Glutacene, I believe it is...
But also since you dont usually get this sore....girlfriend you ran/walked 12-14miles in past 2+ days and thats not normal training for you, so you got sore as hell, it makes sense!
But your cals, I mean you right, its your book, write it as you wish! Yea the main point of the suggestion was to see more results then your already getting, but then also your weight and height is not far off from mine and I know my maitenance where I wont lose or gain weight is like 2000 cals so Im sure yours is close to that and usually when your trying to lean out you want to eat less than your maitenance.
Question, your PP and PB, protein powder and peanut butter, what do you do with that what is that like? Also what kind of PP do you use? Ive tried doing stuff like that with my PP but I think mine doesnt taste good enough to do that, its ON brand

Yes, it's Protein Powder with Natty PB (Trader Joe's brand is especially good for this because it is sort of runny). Sometimes I'll add a little skim, or greek yogurt, or fruit, depending on how I am feeling. I bough a few containers of Designer Whey (Choc, Vanilla Praline, Peanut Butter Fudge) when it was on crazy sale. It def isn't the best PP that I have ever tasted, but the cals and carbs are what I am looking for (and I bought a ton of it and hate to waste).
I usually do a one scoop PP to one teaspoon PB ratio (and usually double this... obviously). I then just add water ssssllllllooooowwwwlllllyyyy all while stirring it like crazy.
Done right, you end up with a super creamy bowl of sweet deliciousness. Once I have the right consistency with these two products, I may stir in some yogurt, or a handful of berries. I also sometimes cut up an apple and heat it all up in the microwave. It give you a little hot peanut butter pie vibe.
I personally, like nothing more than to hunker down with a big bowl of food, and lately this has been doing it for me. You can also put in the freezer for 10 min and it becomes ice cream mouse-ish.
I can also keep PP and PB in my desk drawer at work, whip it up in a coffee cup, and eat it without offending my podmates.

Here are my thoughts on your diet:
First, you're in a competition, and given the prizes, it would be quite awesome if you won it. I know when I'm in competition mode, I don't cheat. Why? Because I want to win.
Second, you cheat pretty regularly. You're body would actually benefit from a once a week cheat more than it would the little chocolate here, cocktail there that you give it.
Third, eventually, yes, you can eat the small chocolate and cocktails regularly, but you have a limited amount of time to get to the ultimate goal, and you don't have a ton of muscle to accelerate the fat loss. I would assume that the women you refer to either have A) incredible genetics or B) larger amounts of muscle.

I agree with Simpy. If you wanna WIN, you have got to minimize cheats. I never did cheat during my transformation challenge, and I am so glad that I didn't!

Thanks I may have to experiment more for this for an "easy" on the go snack maybe...I seem to have a limited amount of choices on those...

But when I win this beast without buying into the concept of 'dieting' or 'cheating', I want both of you to buy me a package of Junior Mints and tell me how pretty that I am while I eat them.

Good, good, good. This new job is kicking my ass. I thought that with moving from a big Architectural Firm to a big Design/Construction company, there would have a fair amount of transferable knowledge... but I feel like I am learning to walk all over again. Everybody is super nice, and it is indisputably a great company to work for, but the learning curve is steep.
On the bright side, I am someone who learns from doing things, and I am doing and doing and doing.
I am just looking forward to getting past this point where I don't understand three acronyms in every sentence, you know?
For Today:
7am- coffee with sk and sp, PP shake. 400 cals
Noon- salad with chx, veg and balsamic and a pear. 600 cals
2pm. Tea with sk and sp. Dove dark choc bar. 300 cals
3pm- 2KC, SF hot choc w/skim. 100 cals
5:30pm- met some old coworkers that I didn't get to hook up with before I left last week. They drank mojitos and ate fries, while I drank coffee. Not super fun, but I was hoping to get into the gym after our social hour. We went late, and the gym was closing when I went by. Oh well, that will ensure that I get up and at em first thing tomorrow morning. I am starting back up the split on Saturday, so I may just try to get a nice long cardio session in. There is also a super challenging yoga class at 6:15am. It will be a game time decision. 100 cals
9:45- 4 hard boiled eggs with mustard, protein shake with milk. 600 cals
Total for the Day- 2100

3pm- apple, tea with skim and splenda. 150
4pm- 4 No Betas. I only had an hour between job#1 and job#2. I booked it to the gym and did a quick 30min on the treadmill (something that was pretty much unheard of a month ago). I felt awesome... like I could have gone forever.

How you feeling this morning? :)
Pretty good. I took a few Tylenol PMs, and slept the sleep of the dead.
My trap/rhomboid pain still kicking, and traveled up my neck overnight. This is the area where I historically get jammed up when the I get stressed. With everything that I have going on, not to mention adding the increased WOs, I am sort of surprised that it hasn't bothered me before now.
I made an appointment for an adjustment (chiropractor at lunch) and a massage (a heavenly sports massage therapist I was able to get an evening appt with) for tomorrow.
Chiropractic, massage, and yoga are things that I historically do to keep my mind and body functioning healthfully. When I made my appointment this morning, I was chatting with the MT and realized that I have really let these things fall by the wayside these past few months.
Also, as psyched as I am with the newfound running, there is some new postural trauma associated with jumping head first into this sport.
So I am going to take today off, Spin tomorrow morning (to at least get a sweat session in), and then see how I feel Tuesday morning.
I am hoping for 100%
Thanks for asking...

Today was pretty much a perfectly timed workout and supplement day. After my chiro and massage last night (and pumped from my 2lb weight loss) I ended up chowing on a few big bowls of good stuff (eggs and veggies, and then PP and yogurt). I was feeling so energized that I ended up going out and doing the 6 mile circuit by my house. I went down by the water in South Boston, and it was all misty with a storm rolling in, and I just felt good. I ended up running at least 2/3 of the loop, and really think that if boredom didn't get to me, that I physically could do the whole thing. I need to get an Ipod to get my mind off... well, my mind.
Anyway...
Today:
7am- 2 KC, PP with Greek Yogurt, Coffee with skim and Splenda, Apple. 500 cals
12pm- huge fruit salad from the Farmer's Market with a Greek Yogurt and some Pumpkin seeds. 600 cals.
2pm- bag of Raisinettes. 190 cals.
3pm- Grapefruit, SF hot cocoa. 150 cals.
5pm- 4 No Beta, Creadyl on the way to the gym.
No doubt about it, I was feeling great. Since I am a little tender from the adjustment and deep tissue massage yesterday, I took the Body Pump class thinking that it would be a nice full body workout. I am pretty much just working under the system that everyone of these classes that I take I just add 5 lbs to my 'base' weight, which at this point is 40lbs. I then add more for deads and squats, etc.
I felt awesome. Strong, alert and in control. More importantly, my back and neck felt balanced and pain free.
7pm- 4 eggs, veggies, one slice American Cheese. PP shake with skim. 700 cals
For the day:
Total Cals- 2140

Hi All,
I am barely back to land of the living after my boys-I-loved-in-high-school/beef-jerky-fest. The weather was insanely beautiful and it was awesome to see everyone.
While there was a fair amount of eating, drinking and being merry (and some good old fashioned breaking into the municipal pool at 2am), I actually didn't go too overboard. I missed my workouts on Saturday and Sunday, but got a good long run in Friday before I left, and was back at the gym Monday morning. I took my Keto Cuts all weekend, and was back on the No Beta and Creadyl as soon as I got back. Everyone told me how great I looked, and I am feeling surprisingly lean after two days of beers and bagel sandwiches.
I don't have any 'progress pics' per se from this weekend (those are scheduled for this Saturday morning) but here are a few shots that pretty clearly sum up the weekend.

Well thank you... I think looking decent (I am famously unphotogenic) in these pics has a lot to do with feeling happy and carefree. Being in Vermont totally does that for me.
I was all wrong today. Woke up late. Had a dude from Nat'l Grid show up to replace my Gas meter which made me late for work. It is about 110 degrees with 200% humidity in Boston, I was slammed all day at work, had to run to AT&T to get a charger since I left mine in VT at lunch time, I almost melted on the way there, apparently it is some big IPhone release day and there was a small village standing in line, got to gym to take a spin class after work and the ac is down, my gym is in the basement so it was like the surface of the sun without all that forced cool air (they actually cancelled classes and recommended people not work out), got home, threw on my sweats to go for a jog, and now it is violently down-pouring.
I am going to wait it out for an hour, and then give it up to God and crawl into my air conditioned bed room with a book.

I just finished the whole 'Dragon Tattoo' trilogy, and give it a big fat "eeehhh". They were good, but I'm not drinking the whole 'best books ever' Kool Aid. Currently I am reading Traveler by Ron McLarty and it is actually pretty good. The story is short but well done, and the characters are really vibrant. But I will pretty much read anything.

3:30- apple, tea with skim. 150
5:15- big fruit salad with cottage cheese, pp shake. 600 cals

It has been so f-ing hot here, and I have been so f-ing busy, that I have been eating a ton of fruit because it requires no prep and I can pick it up anywhere. I keep thinking that it is too much sugar, or some other old wives tale, but I feel really great.

Anywho.... a little under a month left. I have failed to mention (probably because I am not quite ready to think about how this event could affect my contest results) that smack dab in the middle of this month is a 10 day family reunion cruise to the Caribbean. Sigh... So many good opportunities to work out and be healthy... so many opportunities to not work out and not be healthy...

Pics look Great (even if they are "ghetto" bathroom shots)! Haha.
For your timeline, 112 days....16 weeks, right? Your dates are wrong. This contest is longer than the 2009 version.
A cruise?! Sounds like sooo much fun and so much food! Stay strong and focused, girl!

You'll do fine on the cruise. There will be beaucoup opportunities to eat healthy meals (ignore the beaucoup opportunities to eat crap), get in your morning workout, and then chill the rest of the time. :)

Easier said then done, but I have faith in you that you will stay focused! Eat lots of fish, veggies, and fresh fruit! That sounds so good right now!

You know... I am surprisingly not worried about it.
I figure that if I can drag myself to the gym every day while dealing with a new job, full time school, moving, and a tenant from hell, than I certainly can get some killer workouts in when I have 24 hours a day of free time.
Speaking of dragging myself to the gym, I ran for almost an hour last night at the gym after work (with only a few short walking breaks), and crushed DRooks upper body workout this morning after 4 NoBetas and some Creadyl. I was feeling strong and in the zone, and could have rolled right into Legs if I didn't need to go to work.
Off to dinner with Nana (homemade sauce, meatballs and ziti). I'll go heavy on the salad and meatballs, and light on the rest.
I got this.
