I've always stayed away from beer (it's been interesting watching thin friends turn into beasts) mainly because i never enjoyed the taste and being bloated/full from drinking so many (since you have to drink more to feel it, and i don't see the point in drinking if you can't feel anything...)

I really never knew how many calories/carbs beers actually have. Not as much as i thought. I have Sam Adams Light in my fridge, looked at it today to see if there was a nutrition label, and there's only like 5 carbs. But over 100 calories. So obviously all the calories are from the alcohol. Can someone explain? :)

Alcohol carries 7 calories per gram, and the body burns it first once its consumed. It is not a carbohydrate like most think, it's a weird beast, since it is mostly void of nutrients.

My calories from alcohol typically get danced off :) Heeeeyyyyy! lol Anyways. Im not really sure to answer your question seriously, I just know the calories are burned before fat.

lmao, so basically.. if the alcohol gets burned off first.. then it just makes it more difficult to burn off other carbs and fat until the alcohol is out of your system?
I think i read something a long time ago about not being able to burn fat for like 24 hrs after you've consumed alcohol but who knows..

It raises acetate levels which your body will burn before it hits the glycogen stores. If a person drinks to much they may start burning muscle as well.

It bloats me and always messes with my system..not worth it anymore. I stop drinking and smoking since both are bad for my skin. I'm no fun anymore!
