Good work man! Here's the best part.. you don't look SMALLER, you look LEANER. It'd be safe to say that you didn't lose any muscle, in fact I'd say you probably gained some.

I get giddy when I see folks transform like this. Having done it myself I get excited because I know the improvements are so much more than just physical when you make changes like this.
Great work!!!

That made me laugh! Thanks all! Funny thing is these pants were snug on me before! I just can't get rid of them. They are a reminder of what I don't want to be. That an they are comfortable. ;)

Rab, you look alot better now. Iwould pound the iron and ditch the scale at this point. *steve* by the looks of your pic,(and the position of your pants) you must be at 2% body aft. Please dont lose anymore.

I was asked about my diet. I don't really diet. I just make healthy decisions within parameters.
30-35%fats (good) 30-35%carbs (good) and 35% protein. The fats and carbs vary. Actually they all do but I always make sure I get enough protein.
If I eat more carbs, I eat less fats, if I eat more fats I eat more carbs. The reason is I want my body to use either of these as energy and not my muscle. In theory this should and for does work for me.
I track EVERYTHING except when I forget, or get too lazy but that is rare. I use my Ipod touch for this now using and app called Lose it. Before that I wrote everything down and tracked it on caloriecount.com
Once I started tracking I found MANY errors I didnt know I had... Also I perform a LOT of cardio. I do it every day except Sunday. I lift all body three days a week, first day(Monday) heavy, second (Wednesday)lighter and Friday lightest.
On resistance days I do cardio in the morning but light cardio. In the afternoon I lift. On non resistance days I do cardio twice. Morning and afternoon. I started this a few months ago and that is when I start making my best weight loss gains. Mostly with the morning cardio. My session are usually 20 minutes and no longer than 40 minutes.
I want abs in a bad way. So I have been pretty strict on what I eat but I still do pizza once in a while, or steak and I like wine or light beer too. I have a thing for martinis as well. I do NOT drink any of these things often once a month if at all and it is on drink (a small one) only. Alcohol is BAD BAD BAD if you are trying to be healthy and lose weight.
Let me rephrase that... I am not trying to lose weight, I am trying to lose fat. Someone mentioned I look like I maintained my muscle and possibly gained some. I'd agree, and that is another reason why this takes so long. If you go too fast your body will use the muscle as energy. I did that in the beginning from not eating enough...
My weight has gone up and down this entire process and I think I finally figured it out... Thanks all here for your insight and encouragement! It is nice to have somewhere to turn when you have doubts, questions, or just need a reminder that healthier is better.

Good job, man!
It sure is worth the effort, isn't it! Keep on pushing yourself, don't ever ease up. Anything worthwhile takes effort, and you've shown that you're willing to do what it takes.

Not just the pants, but in many pics on BB.com, the camera gets lower too. We feel better about our faces when they aren't looking like beach balls. :)
