Hi everyone!
I'm Allie. I just found this contest a few days ago, and could not have found it at a better time. I just turned 30, and I'm starting to feel old, haha. I decided that I want to look better and feel better now than I did at 20, and so I started taking nutrition and exercise seriously.
It has always seemed to be on and off for me, but with summer coming up, of course I want to get into the best shape possible for the beach. Everyone at work shares similar sentiments, and so we are all helping each other out and have some weight loss goals for Memorial Day weekend.
But I can't stop there, haha. I'm not happy with "lose some weight", "get in shape", "tone up", or any of that other nonsense. I want to be that slammin', strong looking chick with the chiseled six pack that I was in high school. So I was browsing the boards one night and found this contest! I couldn't be happier to join in on the fun.
I ordered my products last night - I will be doing the Women's KetoCuts challenge, and will be taking the CreaDyl as well as the NOBeta. I figure, might as well go all out, right?
I will take my before pics once I receive my products. I don't want to "officially" start until my stuff gets here, so I can reap the most benefits out of them. But I figured I'd start up the log now just to get familiar with everyone and say hi!

I definitely will include those things. I log my training and diet on separate sites anyway, so it'll be easy for me to just copy and paste them in. I have always felt weird about having a journal on here but I'm already getting excited to start updating it, haha.

W00T!!! Can you clue us in to your plan?
Sure thing.
I have this idea around this time every year, and I'm hoping by entering the contest and keeping the log will keep me honest and on top of it, haha.
MY DIET:
For the first half I am going to try to lose 1.5lbs/wk. Once I shed some of the fat I will decrease that to a 1lb loss/wk, because as it is, at my weight my calories have to be ~1194 a day to lose 1.5lbs. So once I start losing, I'll need to slow the loss down so I don't go into starvation mode. Plus I've already started eating like this and tracking my foods, and I'm ALREADY starving... so yeah.
As far as macros go, I try to keep it 40carb/30protein/30fat. I am usually able to hit around that mark with my macros.
EXERCISE:
Weights: I'm going to try to start going to the weight room in the morning, because I've been working 12 hour days lately and by the time I get out of work the gym is closed. It has only worked one day so far. But again, I'm hoping that the start of the contest will motivate me to wake up. I much prefer sleeping later and going at night, but that's life. Alternately, maybe things will calm down at work. Who knows.
I'm doing fullbody workouts comprised of the compound lifts, M W F. Sometimes if I can't get to the gym on a Monday I do a 2 day split upper/lower. I like both, but I'm probably going to try and stick to the 3x/wk.
Cardio: The plan is to commute to work and back by bike 5x/wk. It's 10 miles each way. It's a nice ride, but again, sometimes I don't wake up in time to do it and be at work on time. Again, this contest is a way of whipping myself into shape and forcing myself out of bed in the morning to make this happen. I bought a nice commuter bike last fall and I love riding it, so there's that. Plus on those days I can eat around 1000 more calories, which is fantastic.
I'm hoping that the 5x/wk cardio sessions won't burn me out. If they are, I'll probably cut down to doing weights M W F and riding Tu Th and work up to the higher amount of cardio.
SUPPS: I haven't totally planned out what I'm going to do yet, since I haven't read the instructions. But I'm probably figuring something like NOBeta in the morning before I ride/work out, and CreaDyl during my workout. Not sure how the KetoCuts is going to fit in, but assuming it has caffeine in it the morning will probably be the best for that also. We'll see when it arrives!
That pretty much sums it up. If anyone has any suggestions or critiques of my plan, please chime in! I'm looking for you seasoned people that have already done this to steer me in the right direction if I can be doing anything better!

Spoke to some of you fine people Double-T people yesterday about the KetoCuts. Should be on it's way shortly! Can't wait for it to get here so I can get started! Will need to wait until after NEXT weekend to start officially since I'll be travelling a lot of this week and next weekend, and I want to make sure I can give it my all for the start of the contest.
For now I'm just looking around on other people's transformation logs and getting REALLY EXCITED. I can't BELIEVE some of the transformations that have taken place in just 10 short weeks for the 2009 people. Everyone on here LOVES the supps, and they're obviously doing their jobs, because a LOT of people have made some astonishing things happen to their bodies. I'm glad I found this contest because that's going to be ME soon!

If you're feeling tired during the way because of your diet, you should try to alter your meal times so you can get carbs in because anything extraneous. I could also alter the macros to something like 40carb/40protein/20fat if that is feasible for you. The rest of your posts seem fine though, its good that you've done your research and have the motivation to transform your body, best of luck.

Travel can really add a challenge to your whole routine. My job requires that I travel frequently so I have tried to create the best case scenario for those days/weeks. I have a mini portable george foreman that I carry and prepare all my meals in the hotel and do not eat out. This ensures my nutritional plan is solid. I also get a day membership at a local gym first thing before checking into a hotel, hotel gyms normally are in-adequate for my routine. With some planning and forethought travel can be accommodated.
Your probably good to wait to begin if you do not travel frequently.
Awaiting your official start eagerly!

I do travel kind of often, and I actually kind of enjoy having to adapt to another area's exercise equipment. If I travel somewhere warm it's a good excuse to get outside and jog and check out the local sights. Also, I always try to book a hotel with a pool, because I love swimming for cardio and since I live in the city there's nowhere with a pool to make it an everyday occurrence. I'm definitely nowhere near as strong as you, so usually a hotel gym is sufficient for me, haha. As long as they have some dumbbells and a bench I can usually put some kind of temporary plan together.
But this trip is a "special case" in that it is a once a year event that everyone in my industry goes to/networks at. The town where it's held only has one not so good for you restaurant and there is a lot of beer to be drank, haha. I don't drink a lot, so I'm not going to be a party pooper at the one event a year everyone is networking at. So I think it's best if I hold off, so I don't kill my first week's progress with all the beer. ;)
I've already gotten the NO Beta and CreaDyl in the mail so I'm just waiting for this one more thing and then I'm ready to kick ass! Hopefully when I come back the KetoCuts will be here to get rid of this week's shameful eating and drinking, hehe. I'm sure it will do it's job quickly judging from some of the 2009 entrants' transformation photos, so I'm not worried.

Hey, to all you Double-T reps, maybe you can answer a question for me. I was reading the bottles of supps today to start planning out dosages. On the NO Beta it says to cycle for 12 weeks, and then off for 4. Since the contest is 16 weeks, that means the last 4 weeks will be off the NO Beta. Is this ok? I know in the rules it says we are supposed to take the supps for the duration of the contest. I will still be taking the CreaDyl for all 16 weeks since it doesn't say anything about a cycle on the label. Also, I don't know what the cycle is for KetoCuts yet.

For the NO Beta, its so you don't build up a tolerance and no longer feel stimulated from it, so you can base that off your personal experience. If its still working well past that 12 week date, no need to cycle off yet. Creadyl doesn't need to be cycled. As for the ketocuts, I wouldn't go past 2 months, so two bottles because of the 7-keto.

^^^ ditto to that. I went for a bike ride this morning and kept thinking, man this would be great if I could ride to work. The fresh air, the quiet (when cars aren't flying by), so relaxing and energizing all at the same time.

I strongly agree with highdie here, for me I have not built up any tolerance to the product at this point and am still using the 6 tablet dose pre-workout and feeling the Beta-Alanine just like I did on day 1. Experiment with the dose and then go with what feels good for you. If after 12 weeks you don't feel any effects from it then cycle it, but otherwise stay with it.
I just ordered my first bottle of KetoCuts and expect it here by Wednesday, I am really excited to try this one out. I plan to do 8 weeks then cycle off for 4 weeks.

Starting today! Going to take pictures after the gym this evening.
Based on everyone's experience, how long does the NO Beta take to start working? In other words, how long after you take it do you start feeling the effects? I want to time it early enough so it's still pumping through me by the time I get to the gym this evening, but not too late that it won't kick in in time for my workout or I'll still be tweaking on it afterwards, haha. I took the KetoCuts this morning first thing, and will be doing the CreaDyl immediately pre-workout.
Any suggestions?

Hey girl~ I would say about 15 minutes for the NO-Beta. I usually pop them as I'm on my way out the door to the gym. You can sip your Creadyl through your workout. I usually drink half on my way there, and the other half during my workout. Just some thoughts. Others may have different opinions.
Hope all is well!

I think 15 minutes is a good time frame to look at, for me it varies a little as I can begin feeling the effects 5-7 minutes after my dose or sometimes 15 minutes or so. But, regardless of feeling the Beta Alanine hit me I still always feel the potiive effects during my workout.
CreaDyl offers some recovery but if you are planning to do very much muscle work you may also want to look at adding Glutacene as an intra workout for your recovery and then use your CreaDyl as a pre-workout.

Just uploaded my starting pics, so unless I didn't do something right I'm officially started! Hopefully one of the reps will get back to me and let me know if I did everything correctly.
Here was my diet breakdown for today:
calories consumed: 1474
calories burned: 309
net calories: 1,165
nutrient ratios: 35c/30p/35f
Workout: legs
Squats 45lbx8, 65lbx8, 75lbx8, 75lbx8
Deadlifts 95x5, 135x5, 135x5
Walking Lunges 3 sets of 16 (8 each side) using 8lb dumbbells
Bulgarian Split squats 3 sets of 8 each side using body weight
KetoCuts: took 2 first thing when I woke up and that's it. Might try an afternoon dose as well tomorrow.
NO Beta: took 3 pills about 20 minutes before workout. Skin burned a little - figuring that's the "Niacin Flush" people talk about. Felt a little pump and some energy. Might try to up it to 4 pills tomorrow to see if I can push it.
CreaDyl: drank 1 scoop: half pre-workout and the other half throughout my workout. I noticed a bit more energy than I usually do when working out. Might try 1 1/2 scoops next time I do legs to compare.
Obviously still playing with the doses and stuff, getting comfy with everything and all of that. But - here I go!

Haven't eaten dinner yet, so I'll just post my workout for today.
Supps:
Took 2 KetoCuts in the morning. Felt full of energy within 10 minutes. I bet some of that was in my head, haha. But I didn't even need an afternoon coffee or anything today, which was nice.
Took 3 NO Betas about 15 minutes before my workout. Felt the same burning sensation, and got some red dots on my skin this time. I'm assuming it's the Niacin, don't really mind it so much because it disappeared after my workout. Don't really have pumps from it yet though, so I might try 4 my next workout.
Drank 1 scoop of CreaDyl while getting ready for my workout and finished it about halfway through my workout. Tastes great, but I feel like maybe I could be getting more out of it. Might take a scoop and a half for my next weightlifting session.
Workout: upper body
bench press: 45x8, 65x8, 3 sets of 75x8
barbell bent over row: 45x8, 3 sets of 65x8
db oh press: 3 sets w/ 25lb dumbbells x8
assisted chinups: 95x8, 80x6, 80x5 (on the assist machine less weight is better)
assisted dips: 80x8, 80x6, 80x5
db incline bench press: 3 sets w/ 25lb dumbbells x8
pushups: 6, 4, 3
calories burned: 217

I was thinking about that, but I work out starting around 7 or 7:30pm, and I'm taking the NO Beta and CreaDyl right before the workout. I don't want to be up all night, haha. I'm thinking of adding in a second dose of KC around 4pm, which is usually when I start to feel the "afternoon lull". I know I'll be taking all 3 in the morning on the days I bike commute to work, and all 3 again before weightlifting.

You know, the Double-T peeps are so nice and just keep motivating me with all these great chances to win stuff and try their new products, it totally got me out of my foul mood, haha. So I just wanted to say thanks to all the Double-T reps for making my day brighter. :)

That's a good question... I never even thought of that! Thanks for asking... read what the reps had to say, I'll use that advice.

bummed out... went to a retirement party last night and had a bunch of drinks. Consumed 1900 calories yesterday. Now I gotta do some cardio over the weekend to compensate, haha.
Forgot my CreaDyl at home today so I have to hit my leg workout with no CreaDyl. Pretty bummed out about that too. Thinking about buying another jar to leave at work so this doesn't happen again.
Great idea. I always have two of each thing I use in case I forget it at home, the other place usually being the car. And Np Allie, we love helping people like you out!!

Boo I just redid my calories for yesterday because I forgot a couple things and it ends up I consumed 2269. Oh well, will just have to behave all weekend. My best friend's birthday is next Wednesday so I'll have to be a stickler until then so I can eat and drink with everyone.

Ok I feel MUCH better after an intense session at the gym. Endorphins are cool, huh?
Anyway, I took a second dose of KetoCuts today at 4, in addition to my morning dose. It gave me another round of "freshness", which I depserately need in the afternoon. And I'm actually warm at work, when I'm usually freezing. I'm guessing that's the thermogenic effect. Burn fat AND stay warm? I'm into it!
Like I said before I forgot my CreaDyl at home today. I found a sample packet of green mag in my drawers and took that instead, so I would at least have creatine in me. It tasted great, (reps- next CreaDyl flavor should be sour apple!) but I think there's something to be said about the caffeine or something else in the CreaDyl - it definitely feels like it gets deeper into your muscles than this did. Like, I could feel my muscles working more intensely on the CreaDyl. So that's kinda cool, now I just gotta remember to put it in my shaker bottle in the morning.
I stepped up my dose of NO Beta to 4 pills 20mins before my workout. I didn't feel anything more, in fact I felt less. I didn't get the niacin flush either. I have a theory, and maybe someone can tell me if this is possible - could it be because I did legs only? Tuesday during my workout I felt tingling all over my arms, and they got red splotches and I was doing upper body.
In any case, I was just walking down the stairs to the subway and my hand was on my leg, and my leg felt ROCK HARD. So that's something! I know I couldn't have built significant muscle in only 2 workouts so I'm digging the NO Beta cuz when I touch my muscles while on it I feel better about myself, haha. Going to try 4 pills on my upper body workout tomorrow and then perhaps see what 5 does next week. I don't want to step right up to 5 tomorrow because I did feel a bit queasy for a few minutes after taking it.
I asked this on someone else's log but I might as well ask it on my own, haha. What's the benefit of taking the CreaDyl and/or NO Beta at times other than around workout time? Is there some added benefit to having it constantly in your system, as opposed to just pre workout? I would like to not be constantly jacked up on the stuff haha, but if there is some significance to doing it it would be a tradeoff.
Here's my weightlifting log for today:
Squats: 45x8, 65x8, 80x8, 80x8
Deadlifts: 95x5, 140x5, 140x5
Walking lunges: 3 sets w/ 10lb dumbbells x 12
Bulgarian split squats: 3 sets bodyweight x8 each leg
Cable hamstring curls: 3 sets x 40x8 each leg
Will post my calories/macros up later tonight or tomorrow.

The creadyl is primarily used for the creatine, which can be used successfully at any time in the day; however, most people enjoy the rush from the stims, so they choose to use it prior to their workout.

My workout today was kinda awesome. I had a pretty draining day at work, so along with the 4 NO Beta I popped 1 KetoCuts to give me some energy. This, along with the 1 1/2 scoops of CreaDyl was pretty intense. I felt myself waiting less time in between my sets, and being able to do more reps before my form going to crap.
As I worked out more and more of my body experienced the NO Beta. My feet were even tingling. Most of me turned totally red - I looked like I had a sunburn. But hey, if it helps up my game I really don't care what color I am for an hour, haha. It's been about 15 minutes (I'm typing on my phone in the subway) and most of the redness and tingling is gone.
Another nice thing about this is the mental boost I'm getting out of it. Before the Double-T supps I felt like my brain was giving out before my body. Even when I had taken other NO products in the past. But with the Double-T stuff, my brain is telling my body to go, and I actually only stop when my body physically stops, haha.
Here's my workout from today:
Bench: 45x8, 65x8, 80x8x3
Bent over bb row: 45x8, 70x8x3
Db oh press: 5, 5, 4 w/ 30lb dbs, 8 w/ 25lb dbs
Assisted chinup: 80lbs of assistance for 8, 7, 5
Assisted dip: 65lbs of assistance for 8, 7, 5
Incline db bench: 4 w/ 30lb dbs, 2x8 w/ 25lb dbs
Diet:
Total cals: 1650
burned: 267
net cals: 1383
macros: 25c/40f/35p
Can't wait to get on the bike this weekend and see what these supps do for my ride!

Didn't do an exact calorie count today but I had some sashimi for breakfast (leftover from last night), a Vivanno smoothie from Starbucks for lunch, and for dinner went out with my parents for mother's day for seafood. I had steamers (Long Island soft clam style), manhattan clam chowder, and mussels marinara over linguine. I could only finish about half of the main platter, hehe.
I'm hoping it won't rain tomorrow so I can do a bike ride in the park and plant some vegetables in the garden. Would be nice to have some fresh home grown veggies to help out with my cut!

I didn't :( the bf came down with a terrible fever and chills last night so he's laid up in bed. I've been taking care of him all day, so no outdoors for me. cals: 1438
macros: 49c/25f/27p damn you leftover mussels marinara w/ linguine!
Still not a bad calorie total for a rest day.
As for supps, took 2 KetoCuts in the morning and 2 around 4 or 5pm. No other Double-T supps today. I was bouncing off the walls as it was not being able to leave the house or make a lot of noise so he could sleep. Anything that would've given me increased energy would NOT have been a good idea, haha!
Anyway, gotta wake up super early (for me) tomorrow to go to the dentist, and then if all goes well and on time I'll be able to run on the treadmill for a half hour before work. Then back to my regularly scheduled workout program in the evening.
I hope everyone had an awesome weekend and is ready to hit the iron again!

I am as well, but I don't openly admit to it. He saw me making a face yesterday and he was like "you don't want to take care of me." Busted. Problem is, I KNOW he would wake up while I was out on the bike ride and I'd get a guilt trip for it, haha. I got to sneak in a mini ride down the block to get him NyQuil, though.

You will get into it slowly. When you realize that you can eat more yummy fish if you get rid of the rice, it'll be ON. My first time at sushi was on a date too, and I just ordered what the guy ordered, and all this raw fish came out with NO rice, and there was crazy stuff like octopus legs on the plate with the suckers on them and everything! I choked it down, and we admitted to each other years later that we were just trying to impress one another, HAHA. But yeah... if you stick to salmon and tuna sashimi it's a lot more bang for your buck, money wise AND calorie wise.
And starbucks is a weakness of mine too, we have one in my building at work. Luckily I have good willpower though and usually just get a regular or iced coffee with sugar free vanilla syrup or something.

I'm here to help! I log all my foods on the daily plate at www.livestrong.com - it gives you a pie chart of your macros for each day. Those numbers I typed up there are percentages, so out of my calories yesterday, 49% was carbs, 25% were fats, and 27% were protein. (I round up and down because it doesn't matter THAT much.) It gives you the grams of each as well, so you can make sure you're getting 1gm/lb of body weight of protein and all that.
I'm pretty sure the Niacin is what does the warm and tingly thing, yeah. Originally I thought it was the NO in the NO Beta but I got it when I took the KetoCuts too, so through my amazing powers of deduction, the niacin is the likely culprit, haha. I'm noticing it less and less though, doesn't really matter either way to me anyway as long as it goes away, hehe.

Figured I'd split the posts up since the last one was so long, haha.
So I had a super early dentist appointment this morning and left the house without eating or drinking anything. I took 2 KetoCuts before leaving but I was still exhausted. When I got out of the dentist I walked into my building, looked at my watch, and said eh, I don't have enough time for cardio before work. I walked into starbucks, and somehow talked myself into going to the gym in the 5 second walk through starbucks, haha.
I walked out, popped 3 NO Betas, and went down to the gym for a 20 min HIIT session on the treadmill, which turned out to be more just like high intensity NON interval training, haha. I guess I overestimated my cardio capacity (haven't done treadmill in awhile) and put the incline at 15%, so during the running parts I was only going 5mph but my HR was like 183. And during the walking parts it was around 165. So I was exhausted after that 20 mins, haha.
This week is another 2day 2x split, because my best friend's birthday is on Wednesday. So I wouldn't be able to do full body 3x after work, so I'm doing legs today. And I'm actually looking forward to it!

I think maybe I'm just sleepy today (slept 5 hrs) because my workout was weak. I'll attempt an earlier bedtime tonight and hopefully I'll be roarin' to go tomorrow.
I took 2 more KetoCuts around 4pm. I'm not really getting the redness/tingles from it anymore. I guess my body is getting used to it. Took 3 NO Beta and started drinking CreaDyl once I got to the gym. This was a mistake I think - lost track of time and didn't take them soon enough. Either that or I got bummed out during squats. I couldn't finish my last set. Then I put some plates on to do deadlifts and realized I was wearing shorts and had a huge scab up my right shin in the exact spot where I drag the bar up. Apparently I lifted hard last week, haha. So after this I sat down for a few minutes and almost left.
But then I started thinking about the transformation challenge and how if I started slacking off this early on, I would never make the change. So I chugged the rest of the CreaDyl, and finished my workout. I don't feel like I worked as hard as I could have, but I did go to failure on leg press, so I guess it's not so bad. I don't usually do leg press, but I wanted to get another compound exercise in since I didn't want to bloody my poor girlish legs with deadlifts.
Here's my workout:
Squats: 45x8, 65x8, 85x8, 85x6
Walking lunges: 3 sets x12 steps w/ 15lb dumbbells
Bulgarian split squats: 8 reps each leg w/ bodyweight, holding 5lb plate, holding 10lb plate
Leg press (high and wide): 6th plate on cybex (don't know the weight) x8, 7th plate x8, 7th plate x6
Cals burned: 220
I sat down to do leg extensions after that but I feel like such a tool doing them, so I stopped after 4. ;)
Will log my cals/macros tomorrow, too sleepy to enter it all in tonight. :)

LOVE IT!!!! We all have bad days, and I'm ashamed to say, I've left the gym more than once because of it. But you stuck with it and got through your workout. That's something to be proud of.

:) Simpy.... I think we've all done that...ha, a few times (not recently) I've walked right in, went on the treadmill for 5 minutes then walked right out! Sometimes you just can't find the energy no matter how hard you try... that happens to me when I lack sleep...

Ashamed to admit but I had one day last winter that I got to the gym at 5 AM and felt so tired after some long work hours and rolled the seat back and fell asleep for an hour before going in and taking a shower to head to the office. :)
It happens to everyone. Great job at getting a decent workout in.

Good work! i usually feel better about myself after doing 20 mins of HIIT like that then running for 45 mins or so, its quicker and i feel like i get alot more out of it. How are you liking the NO beta? I have some i'v been a little too intimidated to try it lol

I've been taking 4 tabs pre-workout and maybe it's just me, but it's not all that intense if the dose is low. I'm gonna step it up to 5 starting Thursday. Take 2 the first day, that's what I did because I was intimidated too... just ease into it.

Definitely felt much better at the gym today than yesterday. Was pretty tired and thought about not going to the gym again so I took my stuff earlier than normal to get pumped up to go. It worked! I took 4 NO Beta and started drinking the CreaDyl at 6pm and by 6:30 I was out of my rut and ready to work out.
Did upper body today. Not really getting physical pumps from the NO Beta, so I'm gonna step it up to 5 on Thursday and see how that goes. Here's my workout:
Bench: 45x8, 65x8, 85x8, 85x8, 85x7
bent over bb row: 45x8, 65x8, 75x8x3
bb ohp: 45x8, 55x8, 55x5
lat pulldowns: 6th weight x8, 7th weight x7, 7th weight x5
assisted dips: 65lbs of assistance, 8, 8, 6
assisted pullups: 80lbs of resistance, 8, 4, 4 (guess the pulldowns kicked my butt)
pushups:8, 6, 6
cals burned: 218
Also didn't mention I took 2 NO Betas in the morning and 2 at 4pm. Got the warm feeling again. It's pretty random when I get it and when I don't, haha. Can't really figure it out.

I'm used to a lot of caffeine so it doesn't bother me really. And I think I'm getting used to the Niacin, because I'm getting the flush on some days but not others. I take 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon, during what I call my "afternoon lull", haha. Usually I would drink a coffee at 4pm but I've just been taking the KetoCuts in place of it.
And... no cake, that leaves less calories to spend on guacamole and alcohol ;)

I can feel the energy boost from the caffeine but that's it really. I'm extremely stimulant tolerant so it takes a lot for me to really "feel" it. But I'm hoping it's working behind the scenes, haha.

Yup, that's exactly what I'm going to do. Tomorrow I'm going to take 5 and see how that goes.
So, I ended up having another off day today because the party was so epic we didn't get home until like 4am. And needless to say, between 5 hours of sleep, salty mexican food, margaritas, other beverages, and late night shenanigans, I'm kinda bloated and hungover, haha. But, your best friend's birthday only comes once a year, right?
Luckily there are no events I have to go to for a couple weeks, so I'm safe for awhile haha.
I'll do a full body workout tomorrow since my gym is closed on weekends, and I have to travel for work this weekend so hopefully I can hit the gym in the hotel for some cardio.

Today's workout was the first one back in a week, the momentary lapse explained in my earlier posts. Anyway, the point of today was to just get my body back into the swing of it, and since I won't be able to attend the gym Friday, I made this week's plan to be full-body lifting on Tues and Thurs, and cardio on Wed. with a possible add'l cardio Friday morning if I can fit it. I'm travelling from Friday-Wed so that's why I won't be able to hit it in the evening Friday.
I felt weird going into the workout because I just had an eye exam beforehand, and they put those dilating drops in, haha. So I had to sit around for awhile waiting for that to wear off a little, and I took the NO-Beta and CreaDyl while I was sitting around. So after awhile I was getting pumped and antsy and couldn't take it anymore, so I just went to the gym half blind, haha. I realized I end up closing my eyes or gazing off into space during some reps anyway so I guess it doesn't matter too much.
I took 5 NO-Beta this time, and drank my entire CreaDyl before the workout. I wanted to see how it would effect me. I noticed that I was not bouncing off the walls as much per se, but I did have more concentration during my sets than when I had been drinking the CreaDyl during my workout. Also, I didn't want to pass out on the floor at the end of the workout. I probably could've kept going, but I try to limit my lifting to an hour. I didn't really get flush or any of that, so I think this will be my plan from now on. I took the 2 KetoCuts in the morning and 2 at around 5pm. Not getting the flush anymore, which is cool. It seems to be random, I'm trying to figure out what else I'm doing or not doing when I get it vs. not getting it.

So like I said yesterday, today was going to be just cardio on purpose, because yesterday was a full body workout, and ya know... recovery n' all that. So I decided to do some HIIT on the treadmill.
I was psyched because I got out of work (relatively) early, so my head was pretty in the game, and I knew I would get home kinda early as well, which was good because I was starving today. I think maybe because I took my 2nd dose of KetoCuts too early. I took 2 pills in the morning before falling back to sleep for 1/2 hour (haha), but I woke up feeling refreshed so that was nice. And then I took the second 2 around 3:30.
I took 4 NO Beta and 1 scoop of CreaDyl about 20 mins before the workout. It was awesome! By the time I got into the gym I was roaring to go, and that NEVER happens when I'm about to get on the treadmill, haha. I hate the treadmill, but that's because it's hard, and therefore I want to get better at it. After about 25 mins of HIIT, I actually walked for another 10 minutes at around 145 heart rate just cuz I felt like it! It felt like the supps were making me more focused and wanting to keep going. Woo! If I can squeeze an extra 10 mins out of each cardio session without getting super bored, that's a damn fine thing.

So awesome! Now I just have to figure out how to make CreaDyl travel friendly, I don't want to pack the whole jar in my luggage.
My workout today was pretty good. I went into it with the intention of doing a little less weight and really concentrating on my form. I noticed last workout that my form was getting sloppy so I wanted to remedy this sooner rather than later.
Got out of work relatively early again, and I had timed all my supps just right today, so I was good to go. Did 2 KetoCuts when I woke up and another 2 at around 4:30. Did 2 NO Beta in the morning-ish (11:30 maybe?) because I read on one of the group posts that BA works better if you stagger it. So I took another 4 right before the workout, along with 1 scoop of Creadyl.
The workout went well. Jerks were hogging the equipment and also putting their towels on other stations while using different stations - HATE THAT. So I had to modify my workout a bit from what I would normally do today, but that's ok. They say variety is the spice of life, haha. But anyway, I could still feel the pump even though I was doing less weight, which is AWESOME. And also, I could see my quads popping through my pantlegs, and when I was resting in between sets of chest, I had my sleeves rolled up and I saw triceps!
Here's my workout:
Squat 45x8, 65x8, 85x8, 85x8 - did the same weights as last time, but more reps and had better form, I feel like the CreaDyl gave me that extra push
DB incline bench 20x8, 30x8x3
lat pulldowns 6th plate x8, 7th plate x8 x2 (cybex)
leg press 6th, 7th, 8th plate x8 (cybex)
DB ohp 25x8x3
Burned 288 cals
I don't even need to break out the ratings, today I give both NO Beta and CreaDyl 10s all around!
Oh, and I actually saw some veins popping out on my forearms during my workout! Thanks NO Beta! I was gonna take a pic in the gym but there were too many boys around, haha.
Didn't eat dinner yet, so I'll post my cals/macros up later! Hope everyone had an awesome workout today.

Today's a rest day for me, because I have a full day of work and then get on a plane to CA at 9pm. Eek!
Took 2 KetoCuts when I woke up, and I got the tingling/warmness from them again today. I really don't understand it, haha. I didn't get it all week, but got it today. Random.
Here's my cals/macros for yesterday:

I sometimes get the tingles/burning. And sometimes I don't. Usually it has to do with the amount of food in my system, but not always.

Hi everyone! Back from my business trip. Unfortunately sprained my ankle while I was there, so I didn't get to get in any workouts. Hopefully I'll be able to heal up quick. Diet was pretty good while I was there (didn't track, but seemed ok from my experience), so not too worried about my progress. Less than a week til progress pics! Will update tonight with cals/macros for today, and hopefully will be able to get to the gym tonight, if the ankle isn't too flared up.

Turns out my ankle is still pretty swollen, so I'm going to play it safe and not lift weights today. Drinking my CreaDyl anyway though - I wanna get it back into my muscles after the few days off, so I can be ready to go tomorrow. Plus it tastes really good and I'm sick of water today ;)
Unfortunately Friday I have oral surgery (implant) so I'll likely be out of commission this weekend too. Bummer. But maybe I'll be able to exercise a little? Who knows.

So the verdict is - ankle's still swollen. I'm super bummed. I'd like to go to the gym but I don't want to screw myself up and be out of commission for even longer. But between this and getting my oral surgery tomorrow, the past week and a half has been a total bust.
I'm going to do some walking at least, to keep the blood flowing to my ankle and also get at least a little exercise. Took a scoop of CreaDyl and 4 NO Beta about an hour ago in anticipation of the gym, so hopefully power walking is in my future, haha.

Hope the ankle feels better soon. Take your time with it. Better to have solid healing time now than have much longer healing time by not doing it right the first time.

Haha I know. When it happened, I didn't even care, I was more excited about seeing a gopher, because I've never seen one before. I still didn't get to.
Yeah, the last time I messed up my ankle it was cranky for 6 months. That sucked.
I ended up getting a 55 minute power walk in - walked from 55th to 14th st in Manhattan! Woo! The ankle held up well. Supposedly burned 286 calories, according to the HRM, but I don't see how that's possible, considering that's how many I burn in a weightlifting session. Can anyone shed any light on this?
Anyway, here's my cals/macros for the day:
total cals: 1636
burned: 286
net cals: 1350
36c/28f/35p
Didn't really feel the effects of the NO Beta or CreaDyl, but that's probably because it was only walking, haha. So I won't bother with the ratings for today, since it wasn't a "proper" workout.
The oral surgery is tomorrow afternoon, so I only get to eat breakfast, and then I have to fast after that. And afterwards I'll probably just sleep for the rest of the day, since I'll be knocked out. I think video games are in store for my probable prescription drug induced haze this weekend, haha.
Has anyone tried mixing the orange CreaDyl with milk? I'm wondering if this would make an awesome tasting creamsicle drink... hmm.
Also, Double-T reps, do you guys have any samples of the lemon-lime CreaDyl? I'd like to try it out but I don't want to order a whole jar if I don't like the taste.

Yeah, it's really not that bad. It's more sore and swollen today than it was yesterday, but it's still not that bad. Plus it was an excuse to sleep for 12 hours, which was AWESOME, and the Motrin/Vic combination is kinda kickass.

Hey everyone! Just spent like 7 hours in the garden. It was awesome. Here's some pics!
http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/7874/dsc00631k.jpg
In this one there is cucumbers, string beans, and snap peas, some basil in the corner there, and planted some seeds - carrots, broccoli, and beets. I never believe that seeds are going to come up though lol, we'll see.
http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/4922/dsc00630l.jpg
In this one there is 3 different types of tomatoes, 2 different types of eggplant, oregano, sweet mint, 3 red & green bell peppers, jalapenos, zucchini, butternut squash, yellow squash, buttercup squash, watermelon, and I think that's it but I can't remember at this point haha. I have it all labeled in there though.
http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8609/dsc00629u.jpg
Here's another shot of it.
I also have a bed that I planted mesculin, lettuce, and spinach seeds in... we'll see if those come up too, haha.
I'm a bit sore, but I looked pretty jacked while planting thanks to the NO Beta and KetoCuts I took beforehand, tee hee. There's a whole bunch of pots of annuals as well that we did. Also sprinkled some grass seed and put down one of those carpets of annual seeds along one of the side beds.
I feel like all that planting was probably some good low intensity cardio that lasted for hours, which is nice.
Time for protein pancakes for dinner!

Thanks! We did, but it was only that one long side planter with the cucumbers and stuff in it. I tried to stuff too much into it and most of it got choked off by a zucchini plant that bore one HUGE zucchini and that's it. The bf just built that other square box on Saturday so I have all the stuff that's supposed to get huge in there, and all the climbing stuff in the other one. Don't get discouraged, many people experience the same thing when beginning a workout routine and quit because they loose motivation. I know your motivation is high and I think you may be surprised with your pictures. I am sure with your workouts that your body composition has changed significantly. During the first few weeks of my Transformation somebody posted and said don't go by the scale but rather go by the way your clothes fit you and how you look in the mirror. That was great advice for me and really helped me get over that down I was having. A few weeks later the scale started moving almost daily.
I would be very interested in hearing your ratings of the supplements and how they are effecting your workouts now that you have been using them for several weeks. One thing I have noticed is that with time the effects of the supplements get better and better in terms of my performance.
Can you provide a review of the supplements in this format?

I live in the city too (Brooklyn) and our yard is only about 20'x30'. So all of that is packed into our little backyard, haha. The square box is 5'x5', and the rectangular one is probably 2'x8', running along the side of the property. It's pretty cheap to build those boxes and totally worth it!

Thought I was going to feel well enough today to lift weights but my mouth is still just too sore and swollen. Just took my afternoon NO Beta and CreaDyl a little while ago too, so I'm roarin' to go, I just don't think it's a solid plan. Been tasting blood all day and the last thing I need is to screw up my mouth's healing process.
I think the plan for this week will be to do a full body workout tomorrow, then an upper/lower split Thurs and Fri. Biking to work may actually happen this week, too! It's finally warm enough out. Will take progress pics later and post them up tonight or tomorrow night.

Just starting this contest and to follow along with your journal. Your garden looks great. The vermin around here keep eating my peas and strawberries. Last year a neighbor borrowed some "weaponry" and took care of the problem. This year they're rabbits and chipmunks--not sure for how long...
Looking forward to your progress pics. Mine are still over 3 weeks away.

Take it easy for a bit. No need to rush. As long as you keep your diet in check, you'll be fine with a few days off from the gym.

I know, it's just hard to keep my calories so low when I can't work them off. But I hit the gym again starting today!
How far is your ride to work?
HOW ARE YOU FEELING TODAY??? **no vicadon** :D
It's about 10 miles each way. A lot of that is stop-and-go due to lights, traffic, etc. So it takes about 70 minutes. But a nice long stretch of it is up the greenway on the east side of Manhattan, which is beautiful in the morning.
I'm feeling ok. Took half a vicodin just so I don't have withdrawal. Will probably take 1 more in the afternoon and then that's it. My mouth is still sore, but that is to be expected. It's just "regular" sore now, and not unbearably sore.
Been thinking about my impending workout since I woke up. I'm psyched to go back. I'm glad the Nitromine came - just in time to combat the DOMs I will inevitably have, haha. Also, Fitty gave me the opportunity to log BetaCene! Thanks, Fitty! I'm psyched about that too, should be getting it this week.
Oh btw, I haven't given a supp update because I haven't been working out, but for the past few days I've been taking 2 KetoCuts upon waking, and 2 in the afternoon (3-5pm). I've also been taking the NO Beta, 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. I keep reading that it works better if you split the dose, and I figured even if I'm not working out, it'll get into the muscles and be ready when I am ready!

Teh rest and recovery will be good for you, don't worry about missing a day or two to heal. Better to come back fully than risk hurting yourself.

That was the plan, and I stuck to it! Today's goal was to get back into the swing of things after the ankle injury and oral surgery.
I was pretty drained today because I was coming off the vicodin. The workout was ok, but the supps were not entirely a lifesaver. They got me where I needed to be (as in, got my a$$ to the gym), but I was NOT roaring to go, haha.
But I do give the CreaDyl and NO Beta huge amounts of credit for getting me physically psyched up enough to even get to the gym. Mentally I really wanted to take another day off, but once I popped the NO Beta, I couldn't sit still, haha. I didn't get as much of a pump as last time, because I split up my dose this time. I took 2 in the morning and 4 about 1/2 hour before my workout. I'm hoping maybe once my body gets used to this I can still get a good pump dosing like this. Also, I was able to up my weight on my deadlifts, even after taking off for a week and a half, so that is pretty bada$$ hehe.
Here's my workout and diet:
bb bench press: 45x8, 65x8, 85x8, 85x8 - my form went to crap when doing 85lbs so I might drop down a little next workout and work on form.
squats: 45x8, 65x8, 85x8, 85x8 - I felt increased ease on the higher reps on squats today, which I attribute to the NO Beta!
bb bent over row: 45x8, 65x8, 75x8, 75x8
deadlifts: 95x5, 145x5, 150x5 - woo!
db overhead press: 25x8x3
total cals: 1666
burned: 366
net cals: 1300
41c/19f/40p
I really wanted to puke after the first set of ohp, but I pushed through. I think it was probably the remainder of the vicodin messing with my stomach. My ankle was totally benign during the workout, which I was extremely thankful for. I think that particular mess is overwith, knock on wood.
Here's my ratings of the supps today, keep in mind I was NOT feeling well so a lot of these factors are likely skewed by that.
NO Beta:
Mood 6
Alertness 7
Drive 6
Recovery n/a
Focus 6
Pump 7
Strength 8
Energy 6
Taste n/a
Overall 6.5
CreaDyl:
Mood 6
Alertness 6
Drive 6
Recovery n/a
Focus 7
Pump n/a
Strength 8
Energy 7
Taste 10 this stuff is like a juice box haha
Overall: 7
So, crappyish workout but I'm glad I got it in and got it done, although I am pretty amped about the deadlifts.
I also took the normal dosing of KetoCuts 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon, and I started on the NitroMine too. I'm going to be taking it as directed on training days immediately before and after working out. I'll probably be reviewing it sooner or later, since the fine folks at Double-T were kind enough to run the free promotion. It's the least I could do! Gotta tell the world about this great stuff. :)

So I had a long terrible day at work - like not normal work terrible, but one of those momentus awful days in your life - so not only did I not get out until after the gym closes (grr), but I also forgot to take all my afternoon supplements. So I only ended up taking 2 KetoCuts this morning and that was it for the whole day. Weak.
Tomorrow, however, I likely have a half day before a nice long weekend, and the gym says they're staying open til 5 so I'm hoping they weren't lying to me, haha. My gym is in the building where I work so when there's a half day sometimes they just randomly leave early. I know I could complain but the place is cheap for nyc and it is literally down the elevator, so I can't complain too much. So, with that being said, I'm planning a full body weightlifting session for tomorrow.
I have basically no DOMS from Tuesday's workout, which I'm attributing to the starting of the NitroMine. Yay! Only a little tiny bit in the legs, and it felt like more of a "pump" than sore. So I get to kill it in the gym without being a wuss and lifting light because of soreness.
My plans for the glorious holiday weekend are as follows:
Friday: half day of work, hopefully weightlifting, if not go home and ride bike around park!
Saturday: definitely bike ride around park
Sunday: Possible short bike ride, followed by BBQ & the Glee stageshow
Monday: Alcohol recuperation(?) followed by bike ride in park
Of course I'm being tugged from every limb to do other things on each day as well, but I'm hoping I can fit at least 2 of the 4 rides in. If I can fit 4 then that's even better! NitroMine, I'm counting on you to keep me from going catabolic, ya hear? And KetoCuts, you gotta drag my a$$ outta bed instead of letting me sleep in. NO Beta - keep making me want to kill it, haha.
Now that I'm done talking to inanimate objects and supplement bottles I think it's time to hit up some other peoples' logs. ;) WIll hit this tomorrow!

NO Beta is a pre-workout Nitric Oxide supp, it gives you an energy rush & increased bloodflow, leading to being able to squeeze out more weight and/or reps, and feeling an amazing pump! NitroMine is a recovery aid. It has BCAA's in it which feed the muscle after you break it down, as well as help your body stay in an anabolic state, so you don't burn muscle when you're doing cardio without eating, for example. The NitroMine has proven itself to me after just a few days of use - I have no soreness and feel recovered much quicker.

Know what's great about half days at work? NAPS after work. :)
My workout today was AWESOME. My goal today was to do a full body lifting session, since my gym is closed until Tuesday. So I wanted to hit every body part hard to get as much growth as possible during the 3 days off. Like I said earlier I will be doing bike riding over the weekend but obviously that's a different beast. Didn't get a chance to ride today because I had some errands to run after the gym, and by the time I got home it was rush hour, and they open the park up to cars at that point. I hate riding in the park when there are cars, so I opted against it.
I was super happy I had a half day, and I also took care of the bad bad mess from yesterday, so I was in a great mood. I was a little bummed cuz I was at work a little later than I had wanted, but I spaced out my supplements in a great way today which really gave me a lot of energy and drive. What I did was I took 2 KetoCuts upon waking, (around 9:30am), 2 NO Beta with breakfast (10:30), and then 4 NO Beta and 1 scoop of CreaDyl at 1:30. Hit the gym at 2 and DAYUM! That was some crazy energy and pump!
Even saw a few veins poppin out! Took my other 2 KetoCuts immediately following my workout. I also took 5 NitroMine immediately before and after my workout.
I went a little lighter on some exercises today to concentrate on form. It was successful - my form was not compromised at all today, and I still lifted relatively close to what I normally do. I had a LOT of energy from the CreaDyl and NO Beta. I felt that today was a very productive day in the gym. Here is my workout:
squats: 45x8, 65x8, 85x8, 85x8
bench: 45x8, 65x8, 75x8, 75x8 - had much better form by dropping down the weight a little today
deadlift: 85x5, 135x5, 135x5
bb ohp: 45x8, 55x8, 55x8
assisted chinups: 3 sets 8 reps with 80lbs assistance
assisted dips: 8 reps, 7 reps with 65lbs assistance, 8 reps with 80lbs resistance
354 calories burned
NO Beta and CreaDyl both get 10s in every category for me today. I could have not been happier with these supps today.
Vascularity: I SAW SOME VEINS TODAY! In my forearms. I tried to take a picture but it didn't work out, haha.
Then I did some errands, came home, watered the garden, put up the hammock, and then took a NAP for an hour and a half. How glorious. Going to eat dinner, talk to everyone later!

Hey guys, got my progress pictures up tonight on my bodyspace. I don't really see a huge change :/ hoping the next set in a couple weeks will prove differently.
I did manage to get in my bike ride today. It was AWESOME! Park was surprisingly not too packed, so I got to do 2 laps for a total of 8.8 miles. It took about an hour, but I stopped to talk to my bf for 5 or 10 minutes, so the pace wasn't too bad. And there's a CRAZY hill in the park that slows me down considerably for about 5 minutes each go around, haha.
I took 2 KetoCuts and 3 NO Beta before my ride. I meant to take another 3 NO Beta right before I left, but I forgot. I had a good amount of stamina, but I wasn't flying like I usually do on the stuff. I think it had something to do with not taking the CreaDyl. It was kind of nice having a mellowish bike ride, but I'm going to try to take both before my ride tomorrow and see what the effect is.
NO Beta:
Mood 9
Alertness 8
Drive 10
Focus 8
Pump 5 didn't really feel a pump, but then again I was cycling and not lifting
Strength 8 was pretty amazed at my strength & stamina for not having ridden for about a month
Energy 8
Overall 8
I forgot to wear my heart rate monitor during my ride so I didn't get to measure my calories burned. According to my livestrong I burned about 479 though, which seems reasonable. So here's my cals/macros for the day with that approximation in mind.
Total cals: 1597
burned: 479
net cals: 1118

Hi everyone! Just got back from the Glee live show, which was super fun.
Today I rode my bike again. I felt kind of rushed because I wanted to get the ride in before the show, and I woke up late. I think I may have overslept because I felt really really out of it for a long time after I woke up.
So after taking my 2 KetoCuts and 3 NO Beta in the morning, I made my dinner plans, and then ran around doing stuff to get ready. Then right before the ride, I took another 2 KetoCuts, 3 more NO Beta, and 1 scoop of CreaDyl. WOOOOOOOOOOOO! That got me off my butt, haha. I felt like one of those motivational speakers trying to get my bf to hurry up and grab his bike, haha.
The ride felt AWESOME, I felt really focused and driven from the combo of the supps. My odd feeling from the morning completely went away, and I was in the ZONE. This was definitely my favorite timing of the supps so far! I wish I could always work out in the afternoon, because I think the morning dose of NO Beta followed by another one a few hours later is amazing.
My stats for today were 9.2 miles in about an hour. I had to stop at the pharmacy on the way there and way back and didn't stop the timer, so it was probably more like 50 minutes. Woo!
Here are my ratings for the supps today:
NO Beta:
Mood 10
Alertness 10
Drive 10
Focus 10
Pump 8 definitely felt a good pump in my legs today even though it was just cycling
Strength 7 had a bit of trouble on the big hill the first time around
Energy 10
Overall: 9
CreaDyl:
Mood 10
Alertness 10
Drive 10
Recovery don't know yet
Focus 10
Pump 8
Strength 7
Energy 10
Taste 10
Overall: 9
Cals:
total: 1596
burned: 359 (plus I bet I burned at least 150 more jumping around at the Glee concert, haha)
net: 1237
macros: 51c/24f/26p
Hoping to fit another ride in tomorrow morning before a pending BBQ. Hope everyone's having a great 3 day weekend!

Hey guys, thanks for hitting up my log and leaving the words of encouragement.
Decided to take an off day today and just bum around with the man. We basically sat around in the backyard in did nothing. It was relaxing.
We did, however, take a little while to hang up this 20x20 net, because we have this invasive mulberry tree hanging over our yard from a neighbor's yard. So I figured, if we're going to have thousands of mulberries falling in the yard, we might as well make fun mulberry smoothies, mulberry jam, etc. So if the thing actually stays up we're in business, haha.
For my supps today, I took 2 KetoCuts in the morning, forgot to take them in the afternoon. I also took 3 NO Beta in the early afternoon because I was going to go for a bike ride but then just decided to bum around instead. I also started the BetaCene - 1 scoop around 4pm-ish. It hurt my tummy a little, but I guess I need to get used to it. I'll be starting a log of it probably tomorrow.
That's about it, going to grill up some bison burgers and chicken sausage, make a salad, and pig out the healthy way!

As for the Betacene, maybe it was the creatine mono that caused you some problems. Hopefully it won't happen again. I am absolutely loving my Betacene!

The bison burgers were AMAAAAZING. Here's how I made it:
1 Arnold Sandwich Thins
1 Bison patty - 6oz
1 slice 2% cheese
1 grilled portobello mushroom cap
1 thick slice grilled eggplant
BBQ sauce
sooo good and filling.

Yeah, I had some minor stomach upset when I started the CreaDyl as well, so I'm figuring it's just me getting used to the new stuff. Yeah every once in awhile you gotta just sit around and do nothing, haha. We'll call that a "recovery day".
Planning on smacking the gym around tomorrow and Wednesday (2 day split), possible off day on Thursday to go to my friend's birthday party, and then a full body session on Friday. Also ordered a digital scale on amazon today because I think my crappy Walmart analog scale is not too accurate. I should have it Wednesday, so hopefully I'll have some good weightloss news for everyone, haha. Hope everyone has a good week!

Digital scales are so much better. I heart mine. It's sad...I'd take it dining out if hubby wouldn't be horrified.

Wow Allie. I have never had a bison burger which is surprising since I am out here in the Midwest and see them ALL the time on farms. That freaked me out when I first moved out this way. My first week commuting to work and a bison literally ran out in front of my car. The expression on my face was a Kodak moment if ever there were one. :)
Ahhh, relaxation - it's a beautiful thing and sometimes the body begs for it. I know you'll be back at it. Keep up your great work! I'm rooting for you!!!

It's super easy actually. It cooks quick because it's so lean. I cook on low heat on the grill though, so it's kinda hard to mess up haha.

If I had to look at them I would probably get sad and not eat them - they are so cute. I was driving around upstate NY once and I saw a bison and a cow hanging out. No joke. I couldn't eat meat for like a week.

Yeah, it really is. I paid about $8 for 2 5.25oz patties at the market down the street. But that's Brooklyn convenience prices. You can get a 4 pack of 4oz burgers in the freezer section of whole foods for about 9 bucks, which is still expensive compared to hamburgers. But I don't eat hamburgers, only bison. Bison is always free range and free of hormones and antibiotics, whereas cows are not. So I know what I'm putting in my body is good for me. It's worth the extra cost to me.

EPIC LEG DAY
Today was the aptly above named epic leg day. Figured I had 3 days to lift this week, Tu W F, so obviously no rest day in between. Can't do full body 2 days in a row. So decided to do an upper/lower split Tues & Wed, and a full body on Friday. Decided to do legs today, to give my body more time to recover from teh skwatz n dedz.
Was feeling pretty good today, got a lot done at work so I was in a pretty positive mood. However, I took my NO Beta & CreaDyl @ 5:30 to prepare for a 6:30 workout, and ended up at work until 7:15. Total bummer. By the time I got to the gym it was 7:30, and although I still had mental motivation, my supp "buzz" had passed its peak unfortunately.
However, I did increase weight on deadlifts today! Did 155x5. Woo! I think the creatine from CreaDyl & BetaCene is starting to build up and give me better strength gains. It's always nice to be able to throw the 10s on each side instead of having to stack all the little plates on, haha. Was a little weak in the squats, which sucked, but eh what can ya do except try harder next time. Here's my complete workout:
squats: 45x8, 65x8, 85x8, 85x7 ugh, missed my CreaDyl opportunity on this one
deadlift: 95x5, 135x5, 155x5 YEEEEAH!
leg press: 6th, 7th, 8th plate x8. Only one that was difficult at all was 8th plate. So I've definitely improved in this exercise, since I couldn't even leg press the 7th plate for 8 reps last month. Woo!
bulgarian split squats: each leg 10lb plate in hands x7, 10lbx8, 10lbx8
cable hamstring curls: 4x8, 5x8, 5x8, had pretty bad form though. My leg was wobbling all over the place. I think I have to watch some videos on form for this on youtube.
leg extensions: 3rd, 4th, 5th plate x8, this was extremely easy, even the last set. I haven't done leg extensions in a long time, so I was more trying to figure out where my threshold was. I didn't find it, haha.
Here are my ratings for the supps today. Keep in mind I feel that I took them too early.
NO Beta:
Mood 6 (this would've been higher but I got pretty bummed out when I couldn't finish my squat set)
Alertness 7
Drive 7
Focus 8
Pump 4 felt no pump today, supp was probably out of my system by the time I got there even though I took 2 more on the walk from the locker room to the weight room
Strength 9 felt pretty strong after those deads!
Energy 7
Overall: 7
CreaDyl:
Mood 7
Alertness 8
Drive 8
Focus 7

Energy 7

Well, it's weird, I usually do around 8 reps for every exercise, but I get a HUGE pump in my upper body, and almost none in my lower. I dunno why that is!
Interesting to note though - when I was cycling after taking NO Beta, I felt a pump in my calves of all things. Not my thighs, just the calves.

Here's my "official" update for today.
Today was upper body. My goal was basically to hit it as hard as possible because I have a birthday party to go to tomorrow so I won't make it to the gym.
I timed my supps better today, but I wasn't really there mentally. I don't know what my mental block was, but I just couldn't concentrate in the gym today. I didn't sleep well last night, I kept having nightmares. Maybe that had something to do with it. I'm thinking about researching some of the sleep supplements on this site because my melatonin & valerian supps just aren't cutting it anymore. Here are my supp dosings for the day:
KetoCuts: 2 around 10am, 2 around 4pm
NO Beta: 6 pre-workout, 6pm
CreaDyl: 1 scoop pre-workout, 6pm
Anway, here's my workout for today. I find that when I sleep well the supps really bring me to the next level in the gym, but when I don't, there's really nothing that can get me to really bring it. I decided to do a little higher reps than normal to compensate for my lack of drive.
db flat bench: 20x8, 25x8, 30x8, 30x10, 30x10
bb bent over row: 45x8, 65x8, 65x10, 75x10
db incline bench: 20x10, 25x10, 30x8
lat pulldown: 7th plate x 8, 8, 7
db overhead press: 25x8, 25x8, 25x7 don't know why my last set was really hard, probably from incline
supersetted assisted pullups/assisted dips on 80lbs of assistance, pullups 8/8/5, dips 8x3
I think I'm getting used to the KetoCuts because it's not giving me the boost it used to. I'm at the max serving of 4/day so I'm hoping better sleep will fix all this. I do sleep for 8 hours a night but I wake up a couple times, which I guess interrupts my deep sleep patterns.
Here are my ratings for the supps today. I'm going to start rating the KetoCuts because well, this is the women's KetoCuts challenge! Haha. I figured I should probably start including it.
KetoCuts:
Mood 7
Alertness 7
Drive 7
Energy 7
Overall: 7
NO Beta:
Alertness 7
Drive 7
Focus 7
Pump 8
Strength 5 I felt super weak today
Energy 7
Overall: 7
CreaDyl:
Mood 7
Alertness 7
Drive 7
Recovery 6 my legs were pretty sore from my workout yesterday, that definitely impacted me as well
Focus 7
Strength 7
Energy 7
Taste 10 love all Double-T flavors so far!
Overall: 7
I gotta say that I'm not dissatisfied with the supps. They are getting me to the gym and that is the most important thing. There have been a few days where by 4 or 5 I've been like, "eh, I don't feel like going", but I take the supps anyway to see if I can get psyched. So I take them, and I do. So they're doing their job. I'm just feeling a little lag lately because maybe I'm not seeing the progress I'd like.
Diet for today:
total cals 1722
burned 280
net cals 1442
39c/21f/39p, 154g of protein
Friend's birthday party tomorrow, and then Friday I'm going to try to actually wake up early enough to do the commute to work by bike. My sister just got home from college, so she's staying with my parents over the summer and it's my mom's birthday Sunday so I think I'll spend the weekend out by them. Luckily my sister is even more ridiculous about fitness than I am, so we'll probably end up riding bikes or something over the weekend, haha.

Yep, I take Melatonin when I can't sleep as well. I usually take 2 or 3 though cause I have already tried sleeping and can't. So I just pop those under the tongue, hit the sack again and out like a light shortly after.
Personally, I try to make sure I will still get at least 7 hours of sleep when I take it or else I feel really groggy the next morning, even if I only take 1 tab.

I take a melatonin every night, as well as a valerian. I sleep fine for the first bunch of hours and then starting having broken sleep at around 5am. I keep waking up and falling back to sleep. I go back to dreaming but I still think the waking up is affecting me adversely. I sleep for about 8 hours total a night, but I feel like the nights where I wake up a few times, I feel like total crap that next day.
I ultimately would like something that will keep me sleeping through, without having those random wakeups. I don't know if that exists in a natural form.
Anyway, yesterday was a rest day. Went to my friend's birthday, but had some major issues with the railroad, so the night was somewhat exhausting. I didn't get home until pretty late because the transpo doesn't run as much during the night. So I ended up not getting to sleep until about 1:30am. Had a really annoying nightmare that I kept waking up from, only to fall asleep and have it continue. So I'm pretty exhausted today.
I'm going to hit the gym anyway and just bang it out, but I'll be surprised if it's any good, haha. Also, I got my new scale and weighed myself this morning and was not happy.

First, if you're waking around 5 o'clock, that may be your body's way of saying it wants to get up, even though you may not feel ready for it.
There could also be other factors that affect you at that time of day. Does the temperature in the house change overnight? Do the neighbors start to get up and make noise? Are you hungry? All of these things will affect your sleep.

Repetitive nightmares are no good. They're not even entertaining! Sorry to hear you're having a cranky day. There really must be something going around. I had one of those days this week too. You'll probably have a pretty darn good workout today because while you're tired, you're also focused differently. Knock it out of the park! :)

Hey Allie--been following along and decided to come out of the shadows :) I can relate to your post about sleep--not enough can certainly ruin a day. I've been having trouble lately--not sure if it's supplement or exercise related, or one of the other many variables. Had to put my sound spa on last night--that was definitely neighbor noise related. Who turns their stereo on at 11:45 in a residential neighborhood and lets their elementary age kid yell (curses)? The ones diagonally to the back of me, that's who!
