Just letting you outdoorsy folks know about this show. It ROCKS. :) They are running show after show right now.
After watching this show however, I might now have a phobia of any stream/river wider than I can jump across. :D

My kids love/hate this show. They are fascinated while it's on, but my 6 year gets obsessed and thinks he's going to see some of them in the pool, gutter, etc. :)

That show's a staple round our place. Wife and I are both avid anglers and love watching those beasts he lands.
How about those "vegetarian piranhas" in Papua/New Guinea? Those teeth looked like human incisors...creepy.

This. Animal Planet has some decent shows - I always try to catch (no pun intended) "I Shouldn't Be Alive" too.

Nine times out of 10 I agree with the title of that show.

I am a public safety diver here and we have a big nasty river that we dive in. It has zero visability and we have a nice salmon spawn in the fall. Those twenty five pounders come smashing into your face and scare the crap out of you at the bottom. That show is awesome!

If you like River Monsters, you'll love The Hunt for Big Fish with Larry Dahlberg. It's on the VS Channel if you get it. He goes all over the world to remote areas catching huge monsters. When I talked to him this weekend, he said he's been to over 80 countries across the globe. It's a far cry from your typical boring bass fishing show.

Swamp people (history channel) + Coal (spike) = pure viewing gold

He caught some kind of huge fish with giat, protruding teeth when he was in the Congo. He wanted to set it free, but the local guide clearly wanted him to let it die, so they could feed it to the village. Concern fior his own survival outweighed his concern for the fish's survival and the village feasted.

Yeaaah...the fish they called the nut muncher, which eats nuts that fall from the trees, and apparently also is fond of chomping the nuts of men who are in the water. They apparantly developed a taste for meat. One attacked a guy on the thigh and he almost died. hey that kind of rhymed !
The scary thing is, those suckers somehow got introduced in America - he said they're in like 14 states now!
