I PM'd Layne with a couple of questions, but I understand he is a very busy man so thought I would put it out there in the event anyone else can help answer. I've read and read and cannot specifically find the answers to these questions so forgive me if I missed it somewhere else.

1. I read in another thread that he admitted the article is now a little bit dated in that he has changed his opinion reference the sodium/water depletion (don't do it): got it. That being said, what is considered a normal amount of water...particularly the last day or 2 before comp? I'm only 100lbs and Hubby is a 155lb lightweight.

2. Is the carb recommendation by body weight and body type beginning on Sunday still considered a valid target? The article also recommends carbing up 6hrs before pre-judging on Saturday. Given our pre-judging starts at 10...would it be ok to do more carbing up before bed as opposed to getting up with the crows?

Thanks for any input!

I'm not sure what you mean by "normal" amount of water?

Get as lean as possible, drink water as yo normally would and let your body take care of the rest lol. As long as you don't try to manipulate sodium/potassium you should be fine

That's exactly what I'm wondering. All I keep reading is "drink a normal amount of water." On a day I workout hard, that would probably be around 5 litres not including a couple of herbal (non-caffeine) teas (hubby closer to 7 litres). My thought is that particularly on Thurs - Fri and contest day that that volume of water is not required given no workouts. I'm not suggesting cutting water, but I guess I was thinking a couple of litres at the most would be sufficient.

i'd say drink water normally. meaning dont force it and dont cut it. just drink at leisure

when your thirsty your dehydrated....keep a jug with you at all times and sip and sip and sip some more. It also helps regulate your hungar the closer you get to your show

yes you piss a ton more, but give it time and your body will adjust and regulate and you will piss less often....but youll stand at the toliet much longer ;)
