I normally eat it at 3...then gym by 4:15..back by 5:30 to eat post-workout..then on T and TH i have class at 6...
well today i managed to spill water on my fukin scale..breaking it..so i had to go out and buy another one before i could eat...there is no way i can train right now and make it too class on time
i just ate now at 4...would there be anything wrong with waiting until 7:30-8 when my class gets out to go and train? then come back by prolly 9 eat my post-workout and move on with my meals being 1-2 hours behind schedule...
u guys have no idea how heated i got when my scale broke..i was ready to kill someone cause now my whole schedule is fuked to hell for today

It's not going to kill you put it that way. You should still have enough energy to get thru the workout though it probably won't be the greatest.
Pop some caffeine, blast some music that gets u pumped and go fuk it up! maybe find a way to fit in 20-30 g protein 30 min before?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it's just this once, I don't see it hurting your gains, I've heard of people training completely fasted in the morning before (though I don't recommend it). You technically still have food in you from the rest of the day, so it's not so big a deal.
Just take some BCAA's before, and during your session.

I know the feeling bout getting pissed when your schedule gets ****ed up, nothing you can do about it, it won't make a huge difference only once.

You'll be fine. As the others said. Do what you must and get back on schedule tomorrow.

Y'know Barn? The guy whose glute striations have striations?
Yeah, his eating schedule and macro per meal breakdown changed pretty much everyday due to his job.
I would say you're good.

Thanks for all the help guys...i decided to hit the gym at 5 anyway..and just do chest and tris instead of chest/tris/bi's...ill just do bi's with back on saturday..it saved me some time but im still late as hell to class..supposed to be in class right now in fact..
but i rather be late to class..then have my whole eating schedule messed up..cause i also have 40 mins of LISS to do tonight and the gym closes at midnight...if i wouldnt have done it this way my last meal would have been at 3:30 in the morning
thankfully i have had this prof. for 3 semesters now and ace all his classes so he likes me
thanks again for the help guys...i was really frustrated but i guess it helped my workout cause it was pretty sick lol

What's all this talk about my glutes? ;)
Ya I don't think I have 2 days the same in the past 17wks. I record and weigh everything but I just pick foods that I can eat and feel I need and no more. That is all!

Because I think anyone can reasonably estimate weights and corresponding grams and ratios. I don't think having tiny minute deviations in caloric value or ratios will have any noticeable effect on your physique. Many champions (Shawn Ray for example) said multiple times he never weighed his food. I do not believe that u burn exactly X cals per
day. IMO it's best to listen to your body... I just don't think that it's neccessary and I don't think it's anything to obsess about. Contes preparation isn't about being overly anal about eating EXACTLY this or that. I vary my protein sources when I want, I will eat more some days then others, it's the overall strategy you choose and how you make adjustments to that strategy that will ultimately dictate how conditioner you can get. Just my opinion I was only stating my side, the OP can take it or leave it and keep worrying about missing a meal by 20 minutes or 20 calories or something else that ultimately won't matter come showtime

I agree w/ a lot of this. You've obviously got a healthy relationship w/ bodybuilding and contest prep.
I particularly agree that picking a strategy, sticking to it, and making adustments is the key to a successful prep. BUT, the less precise you are w/ your measurements, the less efficient your adjustments will be.
It's impossible to control (or even track) exactly how many calories you burn each day, and it's impossible to be 100% sure of the caloric values listed on labels. But, what you CAN do is be as precise as possible w/ your measurements and as efficient as possible w/ your macro adjustments in order to keep fat loss steady and consistent.
oh and lol at Shawn Ray.....we don't have the convenience of chemically manipulating our hormones like he did....we have to account for them in our dieting strategies, which means we can't just completely eliminate fat from our diets like so many ifbb pro's do, we need to control it so that we can continue functioning optimally (or at all :D)
show me one natural pro that shows up w/ shredded glutes that DOESN'T measure their food and count their calories....i honestly do not know of any.

I think if one is pressed for time ...say 12 week diet, being extra careful makes sense....14 weeks and up prepping time I 100% agree with you about the weighing and listening to one's body. Just adding another element!

I see where you are coming from. Like I said for some people that works for them. I just dont think its the best way to do it. And I see your position in terms of referncing IFBB pros. But to me that is the standard by which I am judged. That being said I also have a lot of respect for guys like Layne and Skip and Jeffers.
I guess my overall point is this... measuring carbs is EASY.. I measure all my carbs because its convenient and I dont have to think about it... half cup or full cup LOL
but for protein intake from meats... If I buy 10 pounds of meat for Monday through Friday, and I am eating 4 servings of roughly 8oz each, at the end of the week ive eaten 2lbs per day on average... and I do not believe in any way that if some meals were 6 ounces, some were 7 ounces, and some were 9 or 10 ounces that it will have ANY effect on the final product.

I dont think I would ever only give myself 12 weeks. If I did I would probably be OCD and weigh and time everything because I would know I dont have enough time.. IMO the MOST important thing you need to do is be realistic with how long it will take to get into shape...

the shredded glute argument means nothing without a good physique. i've seen dudes with shredded glutes who were just skinny....and yea about the time period

yeah ill agree with most of this...but there are a couple reasons why im so anal about this prep and why i flipped yesterday when my scale broke
1) my first prep last year was a disaster..i didnt give my self enough time and i eyeballed all my meals..until the last several weeks at least...i lost a lot of the wrong weight(muscle) and somehow managed to keep a lot of the fat in my legs/glutes/hamstrings looking extremely soft on stage...trust me..when i saw that the back of the natty PB jar said 2 TB is one serving..i took 2 damn TB and thought i was only getting 16g of fat..when i actually weighed it out..it turns out i was eating at least 5X times as much as i should have been..eyeballing doesnt work for me
2) Im a college student paying layne good money to get me shredded...he tells me the macros im supposed to hit then adjusts them as we go along..if im not hitting exactly what he tells me to..the changes he makes wont be as successful therefore making him and his advice less valuable to me meaning i just wasted money
im not saying that ur way doesnt work..because it obviously does seeing your results...but im paranoid about looking like i did last year and being just as disappointing in myself as i was last year..i dont want that feeling again..i want to come off stage knowing i did my best and look my best...if i dont place..well thats not in my control...but as long as i know i did my all to look my best..ill be satisfied

I didnt know you had him doing your prep. Do what he says he is a lot more successful than I am haha
And your dedication is awesome.. like I said for some this kind of analyzing is what makes them feel comfortable. I just think for me its not something that I would want to do, I try to make bodybuilding as enjoyable as possible. It sucks enough dieting for 16 weeks, the last thing I want to do is have to weigh my meats 6x a day id probably go crazy

I would feel like I was wasting money.
